Walla Walla House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps max-10)

The Haven is a 100 year-old home on Pearson Street, in a beautiful historic neighborhood several blocks from Whitman College and Main Street in Walla Walla.

The Haven was set up in 2006 specifically as a nightly rental. It is a distinctive comfortable place for family and friends - perfect for those that drink fine wine, handcrafted beer, and specialty cocktails. Relax and enjoy the patio with Jacuzzi hot tub - perfect for sunning and lounging in your private backyard.

This well-maintained and updated (3 plus bedroom/ 2.5 bathroom) home has distinct architectural features including Victorian fish-scale shingle siding, spacious front veranda, and second story sleeping porch.

It is designed to provide the ideal Walla Walla experience for families and friends - wine clubs, girlfriend getaways, bachelorette weekends, bookclubs, reunions, cycling groups, golf weekends.

Don't miss your weekend morning walk to Main Street for the Farmer's Market. For an outing to town to shop, wine taste, or have dinner, take our two-seater pedal surrey. Or take the surrey to one of the local parks and use our picnic supplies for a relaxing Saturday afternoon.

For a quiet evening at The Haven, utilize our Bose home theater system with 50-inch TV. HD cable channels, current and classic dvd's are available. Select a CD from our library or just plug in your iPod to fill The Haven with music. A vintage piano is also available for your enjoyment. Local and regional publications, as well as recommendations for dining, shopping, and touring is provided. Be sure to check out the assortment of books and our collection of family favorite board games.

Enjoy our various entertaining spaces which can accommodate gatherings such as cocktail parties, wine tastings, barbeques, and family feasts. Shake up a martini at our free-standing bar or utilize our distinctive serviceware and place settings and sit down for an elegant dinner.

Have a casual meal on the front veranda or in the backyard. Help yourself to what is in the pantry and fresh ingredients from our seasonal culinary garden and use the gas bbq. Lounge about the Jacuzzi Hot Tub and soak up the sun by day and head back into the spa for special star gazing at night.

At the end of the day, sleep comfortably on our pillow-top beds with quality linens - King, Queen, Full, and two twins.

The Haven is an ideal opportunity for wine enthusiasts wanting to learn more about the Walla Walla appellation! Customized tours, tastings, and unique events available for Haven guests.

Proximity to Whitman College makes The Haven ideal for inviting your student's roommates and fellow Whitties over for a home-cooked meal.

The Haven can also be used for the day or evening as a corporate retreat. We can assist you with meetings and seminars held at this unique location. Additionally, catering services are available when entertaining clients at The Haven.

Why Sue Bicknell chose Washington

The Haven is steps away from Whitman College and Main Street in Walla Walla, WA. Guests enjoy a stroll along the creek through campus to get to the downtown core of Walla Walla. More and more wineries have opened tasting rooms downtown, making the location of the house ideal for a safe walk home. The historic neighborhood of 100 year old homes, tree lined streets, and local parks make a perfect place to walk or ride bicycles.

What makes this house unique

The Haven was one of the first vacation homes in Walla Walla. Of all the properties now available, guests say it is in the perfect location - a beautiful neighborhood and easy access to downtown. One activity that our guests have really enjoyed is a private wine tasting at the house. We also offer winery and restaurant recommendations and at the house we have a collection of brochures of local activities. Read the sampling of guest comments for a first-hand account of memorable experiences at The Haven.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We love this house - thanks for making our 4th & last {Whitman} family weekend so special. Look forward to visiting in May!

Lovely retreat

  • 5 of 5

Staying at this home made our girls getaway perfect! It was peacful and quiet yet located close to downtown Walla Walla and a short drive to beautiful estate wineries. The backyard was perfect for visiting over a glass of wine and everyone was at home here.

I would love to come back and probably will!

Walla Walla Sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

This is just a wonderful sanctuary - the house is spacious and well appointed (with ultra-comfy beds!!), the garden, complete with lounge chairs and hot tub is like an oasis, and our favorite - the huge front porch with chairs for everyone so that we could hang out while viewing the lovely front garden and lofty trees along the street. Sue is exceptionally easy to work with and is very responsive. We will rent this place again FOR SURE!!!

Perfect place for our weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Walla Walla and the Haven House was the perfect place for us to base our girls' weekend getaway. Our plans started out including 6 of us. We chose the Haven so we'd all have a comfortable place to sleep. Unfortunately 2 had to drop-out, so it ended up being just 4. The house was still perfect in size - not too big, but plenty of room for us to feel at home and comfortable. Sue responded very quickly to emails as we were planning, and she offered to refund us the 'extra guest fee' since our group shrunk. She couldn't have made it any easier for us to get away and have a carefree weekend. Thanks, Sue! Ok, back to the house - the yards are so beautiful, our biggest decision each morning and evening was where to hang-out - the grand front porch with the comfy wicker furniture and porch swing, or the gorgeous private backyard with large table and gardens abloom. The front porch won out most times. That was our favorite place to sit in the morning sun with a pot of coffee and to sit in the evening with a bottle of wine. We laughed our asses off on that porch! The house is old and obviously has a history. Although I don't know what happened within those walls, I'm pretty sure it centered around love. The energy of The Haven is light and loving and welcoming. No bad juju here. The house was super clean, bathrooms, kitchen and all. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Beds were super comfortable. We used our car during the day to get outside of the downtown core, but walked downtown every evening for dinner. It's an easy 10 minute walk. We loved our night walks across Whitman College campus. All in all, we loved The Haven House and we hope to return again very soon! Thanks Sue, for opening your home to us! - Monica, Libby, Jennifer & Carolyn

We had a great time, the home is beautiful clean and very well equipped as I love to cook. We had a little problem with vibe booking due to system being down but the owner was helpful in getting home booked.

It is a charming beautiful home and we will go back for sure next time.
