My name is Robert and after years as a home builder I now manage 5 rental properties on a full time basis.
I am a hands-on owner and travel between my primary residence in Port Washington and Hunter Mountain every week to check on and maintain my properties... and along with my cleaning crew and local handymen do our best to keep everything in excellent condition for our guests!
My wife and I have been together for 26 years, have 2 sons and love to stay in and share our properties with other families and groups who want to enjoy and be respectful of the beautiful homes and life that we all have!
I can always be reached via email and text and usually reply within minutes to all inquiries, questions or issues.
I look forward to having you as my guest for your next vacation or getaway!!
Robert purchased this house in 2012
The property was beautiful - beautiful view of the lake, great house, accommodated 9 adults and 9 kids easily and comfortably. The house was clean and well-maintained, the photos provided depicted the house pretty accurately.
We went on some nice hiking trails a short ride away from the house, but really enjoyed hanging out at the lake and on our property most of the time. My only negative comments were that my adult kids complained that the twin bed mattresses were terribly uncomfortable and should be replaced and since the lake requires a walk down a somewhat steep embankment, it would have been nice to have a small dock on shore so that we could actually hang out and/or fish near the lake, having someplace to sit.
I would definitely recommend this house to friends and would strongly consider going back with my own family. The owner was always receptive and responsive to our emails.
Overall our family had a great time at BobCat Lodge. Having an upstairs and downstairs common area, couple of decks and of course the lake for kayaking were key with lots of people.
The reason for only 4 stars and not 5 is that the kids were very disappointed there was no trampoline as advertised. And while there was plenty of a/c - there were no instructions and multiple units - all with different remotes/controls. We also had same issues with the tvs/videos. Overall we weren't watching much - but found each tv had different instructions. One tv didn't work. Also, we had a few people unable to join us at the last minute - which was a good thing. We had 16 folks (5 children and 11 adults) and could have fit 2 more, but not 4 - the other two would be on air mattress in game room or sleeping on couch, which was not a fold out. But it was great for the number of folks we had.
Another important thing to note - and we should have asked because the photos didn't show it - is that we had two folks with mobility issues (unsteady walking with canes). There are many stairs into the house and many to take to go down to lake. In some areas - from upper deck to fire pit or to lower level - there were no hand rails at all. While we made do - we would not rent this house again because of our specific needs for easier access.
That all being said - we had a great time. The fire pit, pingpong table and basketball game were taken advantage of by our group. We had a young bear make an appearance and eat wild berries a couple of times where we could all watch from the upper deck - which was great. There were more pots and pans than expected for both cooking and baking. The kitchen also has a lot of spices - don't buy any until you see what's in the cupboard. The gas grill was easy to use. We sadly broke a couple of glasses but then found a terrific church thrift in town and bought glasses, a few more bowls and utensils to add to the mix. We were sad there was no recycling...we self hauled this out and took them home.
I would recommend this spot if you don't have anyone with mobility issues and you're good with a remote!
Our family (ages 2-56) had a wonderful time at the Bobcat Lodge. Beautiful location and home. Plenty of space for everyone, and activities in close proximity- golf, zip lining, hiking and of course playing in the lake and fishing as well.
All amenities were as stated, and more! Highly recommend staying here!
The house is perfect for a large family like ours. We have 5 children & 8 grandchildren. We are a family who loves to cook together & the kitchen was perfect for us. The home is spacious, with enough bedrooms & bathrooms for all. Robert, the owner, is very nice & very accommodating. We are booking again for next year!
We have been coming to Bobcat Lodge with a group of 12th-grade girls for our graduation trip for the past 5 years, and it gets more amazing each year! The house is spacious, well stocked, and most importantly, immaculately clean. The girls especially love the rec room with the comfy couches,ping-pong table, basketball, and large screen. Bob is a pleasure to deal with - our reservations and payments have been smooth and hassle-free. We wouldn't stay anywhere else!
We have stayed at Bobcat Lodge on a senior class for a few years and are so pleased each time. The house and property is well maintained, spacious and beautiful. Working with the owner is a pleasure. We love the nearby waterfalls and tubing.
