Guestbook comments from the owner

We want to sincerely thank you for making this rental available to us. There were so many to choose from, but we certainly believe we made the best choice. The home is spacious, has what we need, and is warm and inviting. We had a great time spending our days hiking and sight-seeing. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are awesome places, and Bass Harbor is very quaint. The area is very quiet, which is so very different from Orlando, FL. Thanks for everything, and when we come back we will be calling to see if this place is available. Good luck this winter.

Beautiful home and very responsive owner

  • 5 of 5

This was a family trip to Acadia with two kids. The property was so shiny, well kept, with all the comforts, extra supplies. The master bed room and the attached bathroom was spacious. Loved the simplicity of the interior design. I just felt like I was in my home. Beautiful paintings. Maria kept boxes of toys for our kids. All were super clean and seems to be new. The kitchen had everything required. I carried few BBQ equipments and the supplies but nothing required. The arrangements were very welcoming. The owner was very much responsive to every question. We reached so late around 9:30 pm.She replied to every message. The property is located in the nature's lap... every morning my eyes had a pleasant view of woods, birds, squirrels... beautiful it is. ANP is not very far... we enjoyed the scenic beauty of the park, the light house which is few minutes from this property and there is a grocery store nearby as well. We would surely come back again. Thanks Maria!!

Lovely home for a relaxing stay on MDI

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bass Harbor at this lovely well-kept home. It was so clean and inviting. The setting in the woods was wonderful and peaceful. The master bed and bath was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed evenings by the fireplace. Having Thurstons Lobster near by was a real treat and we went there several times. I would highly recommend this house to anyone that wants to enjoy MDI and Acadia and the wonders of a working harbor village. Thank you for your lovely home.

Very friendly and cozy!

The property is beautiful! Maria was very accommodating and communicative. The house is situated in a cozy spot in the woods but is within minutes of the ocean. When we come to Acadia we will be renting from her again!

Wonderful house and owners! Highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

The house is well-maintained and beautiful. We loved staying there, and the owners were amazingly kind to us. They did everything they could to make our visit the best ever.

We visited from the 25th of June to the 2nd of July. We were a family of four visiting from Denmark (Europe) and our kids was 3 years and 11 months, respectively. The owners provided outstanding service - they quickly replied to all our questions, and even helped to locate a good nearby pediatrician for our youngest when he got otitis. We quickly made the 1st floor baby safe and that really made the stay a lot more relaxing for us.

Most evenings we BBQ'ed on the patio. There is a supermarket 5 minutes away, and there is a Hannaford about 20 minutes away in Bar Harbour.

We enjoyed the setting in the woods, and the house were kept cool in the shadow of the trees. The house and decor is so nice - it felt like we were staying in a presidential suite - just with more room. The bathrooms are really nice and everything is shiny, modern and new.

We would like to come back to this house some day. We have no problem recommending this place to friends and relatives - in fact we already did :)

We don't know much about the restaurants, as we had dinner at home every night. However, while taking my weekly 8 miles run - I found that if you go on the other side of the cove, then there is a nicely located lobster pond, a museum formed as a light house, and a beautiful view of the lobster boats. Go there in the late afternoon - it's so beautiful!

Recommended trips: Drive up the mountain, go on the park route and see the thunder hole, go visit the wonderland trail (nearby), go on a lobster or tour boat and see how lobsters are caught, visit the small islands, see the seals. There is lots to do in Acadia - we didn't do that much because we traveled with small children. We want to come back at some point - and we would like to stay in the same house :)

Wonderful stay!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this rental on the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island! At first we were worried about being so far from Bar Harbor, but it ended up being a great location, just minutes from Southwest Harbor and great hikes in Acadia. We ended up spending almost all our time in Southwest Harbor which has beautiful scenery, great restaurants and shopping. (A piece of advice: some of the small restaurants require reservations on busy nights.) The house had everything we needed - we especially appreciated having linens and towels provided. This home is clean and nicely decorated - we highly recommend it!

Amazing home, wonderful location and friendly and helpful host. Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We were in awe when we arrived at this most amazing home. Our stay here was over thanks giving with some friends and we had a wonderful time.

The house is impeccable, well equiped kitchen, plenty of lounging space (siting rooms I think you call them here) very warm and well insulated home.

We plan on returning again :)
