About Vacasa, TX - South Padre Island Office
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers. Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team. Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

The room was great and the beds were so comfortable.
Property/condo was nice enough for us. Could be closer to beach, less stolen items, concert was bad
The property DID NOT adhere to the same age policy, no loud music, no parties in the pool etc that we did. My family and I slept horribly as there was, unbenounced to us when booking or at the time of check in, a gigantic BASS party scene right outside our door. We realized there would be spring breakers but we were not notified jay there was a giant stage/concert with 30 foot tall speakers and for lack of better terms “rookie DJ artists” spinning mad beats all night Wednesday-Saturday from 7pm until 4 friggin AM. I also had my brand new Reef Flip flood stolen within a 3 minute time period while I took them off at the front door because they were sandy out of respect for the property owners, take some beach towels to the back porch only to return to the front door and they were literally gone. The front desk/“security” seemed to not care and only suggestion was “don’t leave anything by front door for more than a few seconds”.......lololol.
We will not be staying again and will not be giving a good review.
We are sorry to see this location did not work well for this guest and apologize for any stolen items. The condo itself is enjoyable, and we look forward to sharing it with guests.
Seriously zero stars is too much for Gulf View I. The condo was not what is portrayed in the reviews. The worst feeling in the world is when you get somewhere that the reviews have dicribed as really nice and it is NOT! Roaches, dirty dishes put away in The cabinets as clean, dish towels with dried food on them, one bath towel, the shelf below the tv was coming out of the wall, the shelf in the bathroom was coming out of the wall as well and not only could you hear what everyone around you was doing, you could also get high off of their weed without even being in the same room. The was just an awful place. I left my kids after the first night and the only offer of fixing the situation was for them to send housekeeping back over. Just so we are clear, housekeeping cannot get rid of roaches!!
We are very sorry to see this guest did not have a better experience. We have followed-up with housekeeping, and we do have pest control that regularly takes care of the home.
When we arrived we found a pile of dirt and dead bugs on the floor. I emailed the manager. I then proceeded to sweep the floor and mopped it. When I dumped the water it was black. The condo smelled musty but we thought that was because it was closed up. We opened the windows and turned on the ceiling fans. The manager called while we were out eating. I told him that I couldn’t hear him because were in a restaurant but I did make out that someone would be at the condo in an hour. It turned out to be two cleaning ladies. I told them that I had already cleaned but they did not speak English so I don’t know what they reported to the manager. I never heard from him again. There was about an 8 inch spot in the bathroom ceiling that was black with mildew and had ruined the sheet rock. Apparently there was a leak from upstairs. That explained the musty smell that we could not get rid of. We figured there is mold in the ceiling. We did not contact the manager about this because it us not a quick fix and could not have been done while we were there. There was also mildew in the corner of the living room which had damaged the drywall. I hate to give negative reviews, but I have always relied heavily on reviews when looking for vacation rentals so want to make sure someone else doesn’t have the same experience we had. The groundskeepers did a great job with the outside and the pool area.
When we arrived we found a pile of dirt in the middle of the kitchen floor along with some dead bugs. I took a picture and emailed it to the manager. I then proceeded to sweep the entire condo and since it was obvious the floor had not been mopped, I also did that. When I dumped the water it was black. A short time later I received a call from the manager. I told him that I was having a hard time hearing him because we were in a restaurant. He continued to talk and I was able to catch “coming over in an hour” and I said we would be back. I assumed it would be him but it turned out to be 2 cleaning ladies. I tried to tell them that I had already cleaned the floor but they did not speak English so I am not sure what they reported back to the manager. The condo smelled very musty when we arrived but I thought it was because it had been closed up. We opened all the windows and turned on the ceiling fans. This did not help. I then realized that there must be mold in the ceiling. There was approximately an 8 inch black mildewed spot on the ceiling above the tub. The sheet rock was damaged. It looks like the unit above had a leak from their tub. I think the water ran across the ceiling because the smell was worse in the bedroom. There was also mildew in the corner of the living room and damage to the drywall. We didn’t contact the manager about this problem because it wasn’t a quick fix and could not have been fixed while we were there. I hate to write negative reviews, but I have always relied heavily on reviews when looking for vacation rentals. The 2 groundskeepers, Ted and Oscar, did a great job of keeping the outside looking great.
We are sorry to see there were some cleanliness concerns with this visit. Housekeeping did come out to help, and we apologize if they were late in doing so. The leak and mildew have been taken care of, and a permanent fix for the leak is scheduled for the end of spring break. Thank you!
This could be a decent property
This property was in a really nice location and in a nice complex. Unfortunately, when we were here we had some problems with the property so we didn't love this condo. It is set up nicely with plenty of room. The toilet wouldn't flush unless we took the lid off and held the plunger down. When we called maintenance, Eric, was out there right away to fix it but we had still dealt with it for a day. The weather got down to 39 degrees the 2nd day we were there and that's when we learned the furnace didn't work. We spent a very cold night and morning without heat. Once again, Eric was wonderful about getting someone out there to get the thermostat fixed. The other issue we had was bugs. They were in the bathroom and some on the kitchen counter. They'd come out, mostly at night. We just kept killing them and by that time we didn't want to say anything else about the place. So most of the items have been resolved for the next people coming in but it wasn't the best stay for us. Sorry. Don't like leaving negative reviews.
We apologize for the issues this guest encountered and greatly appreciate them notifying us so we could get them addressed. Thanks!
