Our son was graduating from UT and this property was perfect for our needs. I look forward to booking it again in two years when he receives his Masters degree.
Our family, including our adult children, enjoyed our stay in Austin. This property is older, but had been remodeled with some nice details. It's in a nice, residential area, close to many restaurants, Zilker park, and an easy drive to the airport or downtown. We used the large floor fan provided in the master for white noise - this home lacks heavy doors or insulated windows, so outside noise (nearby train crossing) was bothersome at night. Sally responded quickly to any concerns and we recommend you give the treehouse a try!
Great location! Very comfortable accommodations for our group of six. It is truly like a treehouse...located aat the end of a cul de sac, adds to the privacy. And easy acces to all that Austin has to offer! The owners were also extremely accomadating to our schedule of family members arriving at different times of the day. They allowed us to come in early to set up a family luncheon, and had no problem w/ us departing later than scheduled. Highly recommend this property for your Austin visit! Also, if you like to join in on the 'party' atmosphere that is Austin with no worries, be sure to sign up with LYFT, as UBER has a very low profile in Austin. LYFT was extremely easy and fast in getting our group around town and safely home.Have fun on your next visit to Austin, and stay here!!
Sally could not have been more accomodating and allowed us the later check out we needed on Sunday afternoon. The location is excellent: walking distance or a short drive to the park and nearby restaurants. The condo was great and we were all very comfortable there.
Had the best time in Austin especially because of this great house. We had 5 girls and slept very comfortably. The house was impeccably clean, perfect location and Sally even had wine waiting for us. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio where you can hear the creek and birds.
The second story is where you'll spend most of your time, so it's really neat how your level with many of the trees. Open the window in the shower, and you'll feel like you're Snow White while you listen to the birds sing.
We walked about a mile and a half each morning to Magnolia cafe and also the juice place right by the cafe is great too. If you're too tired to walk back, just take Uber for $7.50.
We will definitely stay here next time we visit Austin, which by the way, is the coolest place, and that's coming from an LA girl :)
Overall the home was very nice. The location was perfect to reach the downtown area and still enjoy the solitude of nature. My one complaint is with the owner. We had a bad experience with her and found her to be accusatory and emotionally unstable regarding a problem that arose in the last day. I would not consider returning to this rental. I will say that her husband was very accommodating as we had multiple problems with the tv. And he showed up to try to help. I would try to deal mostly with him.
The home is conveniently situated in Austin's centrally located Zilker Park neighborhood. The heart of Downtown (6th and Congress) is 2.8 miles or a 40 minute walk, 5 min cab ride or 11 minute bus ride. Local bus service is a 8 minute walk from the house. Airport is a 15 minute drive.
