Why Gilly Murphy chose Butlerstown
We bought this property because it is next to our favourite beach. We love this headland, it is stunning and we love living here because of the beaches, little coves, cliffs, the Atlantic, the wildlife, the beauty !

We loved Dunworley Cottage!!!!!
Gilley and Richard are lovely and caring hosts with a fabulous home. We had two catered meals for 12 and even though we had a variety of food needs everyone was delighted. Wondeful!!!
Large spacious house, very rural, lovely walks and views.
We had a very pleasant 2 week stay at Dunworley. The house was large enough to invite family for the middle, Bank holiday, weekend. All the rooms are spacious (6 bedrooms - 5 are double). There are two sitting rooms, one very large and one smaller one with the TV. There is also a large kitchen and sun/dining room. The location is very rural with only one road in. There was plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Also well provided with toiletries (including towels and toilet rolls that lasted for the whole stay). There are two smaller rental cottages on site. A short walk (5mins) down the hill brings you to Dunworley beach - very pretty and very quiet. We went on a number of walks in the area including the Seven Heads marked walks. We visited Clonakilty and Kinsale - neither are far by car. The owners were on site (in one of the other cottages) for most of our stay and were very helpful, discrete and polite and were easy to contact. We had a very good stay and can see ourselves returning (we visit Ireland every year). Full marks to the owners.
Beautiful and spacious home in gorgeous location
Gilly and Richard made us feel right at home from our late night arrival to providing helpful local information. Nine of us had the time of our lives hiking, sightseeing and just relaxing. Could not have been any better. Thanks again.
Delighted - what a wonderful holiday!
My wife and I booked Dunworley House for a getaway with our extended family, over the Christmas break and were delighted with the place! The house is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland, right off the rugged West Cork coastline. The interiors are charming and with fires roaring in both sitting rooms it was just the cosy retreat we were looking for. The bedrooms and all large and extremely comfortable, and the dinners and breakfasts are a must (everything was fresh and local - veggies from Gilly’s own garden!). Gilly and Richard could not have been more helpful and friendly, and were always at hand to advise on walks, day trips and what local pubs to check out!! We were honoured to be the first guests in the house, and will be back for more next year!
We have two other cottages on the property, which means that we can sleep 23 people all together. Listing 42425 and 42688.
Cork is beautiful , renouned for its delicious artisan food and superb gourmet restaurants, as well as its fascinating historical sites, such as Blarney Castle, Drombeg stone circle, Bantry house ,Charles Fort.etc.On our headland we have 2 Napoleonic watchtowers and a ring fort.
There are hundreds of lovely islands to visit, Garnish Island,in particular has a beautifully landscaped garden, designed by one of Richard's forebearers. We also are spoilt for choice of stunning golf courses such as 'The Old Head'. We are situated on the wild Atlantic way between Clonakilty and Kinsale. There are fishing villages with seafood restaurants ,marinas, shopping, music bars .Courtmacsherry has the RNLI ,as well as windsurfing, riding, fishing, kayaking.
You can charter a boat ,with a skipper and sail along the coast, dropping into one of the many charming villages for lunch, such as Castletownsend or Baltimore.
We are mad about horses and you will find races popping up all over the countryside. The local point to points give a colourful insight to the 'real Ireland'.
If whiskey attracts you you can visit the Middleton distillery, which was set up by Richards grandfather, Norbert Murphy
The really lovely thing about our property is that you don't need to get in the car to have beautiful ,uplifting walks and hikes. You just walk out the door...
