The owners were so nice. The cabin had everything, especially a fabulous view and peace and quiet! Loved the train!! Hoping to return soon!!!
The cabin and surroundings are beautiful. Getting to the cabin is a bit trickier along some narrow mountain roads. This is wonderful if your plans are to stay up at the cabin. Going 30 min into town not as much fun but doable.
Great cabin with beautiful views
Treacherous drive to cabin
Before you rent this cabin, here are some of our observations: The cabin is way back in the woods, high on a mountain, with very few homes in the area. The road to the cabin is full of zig zags and “S” curves. When you turn off of Highway 28, most of the roads are one lane, very scary roads. The driveway to the cabin is a very steep drive down. It is “white knuckle” driving most of the way. I strongly suggest you make the drive to and from the cabin in the daylight. The cabin itself is nice and comfortable and has a beautiful view of the mountains. The water is from a well and has an unpleasant odor and taste, so make sure you bring bottled water. There is no cell phone service, but there is spotty Wi-Fi. We booked the cabin for 2 days, but after driving up, we forfeited the 2nd day because we didn’t want to do that drive again. We tried to get the owner to refund the 2nd day because of the horrible drive, but he was unwilling to work with us.
Amazing Family Cabin!
This was a wonderful first trip to the Smoky Mountains for us, and the cabin was a big part of the magic. The cabin and area exceeded our expectations. Our goal was to be immersed in the beauty of the mountains and hope our sons (10 & 8 years) would appreciate the wonders of nature. Our life can be hectic, and this was the perfect way to disconnect and start the summer.
The views from the rocker on the porch, were my favorite part. My husband loved cooking by the fire and shooting videos of the amazing views with our drone.
We all enjoyed visiting Bryson City and the Trails along Deep Creek. The boys loved tubing in the river, smores by the campfire, and counting turns on our daily drives up Brush Creek Road.
The drive to the Bryson City area from Gatlinburg on 441 (Newfound Gap Road) was spectacular, in addition to the adventurous drive up to the cabin, was all part of the experience.
We look forward to staying at the cabin again!
Awesome secluded cabin with great view.
This true cabin was awesome to stay at for a few days. The view is tremendous. The kitchen is very well stocked with state of the art appliances. Very comfortable and very cabin like feel, which I so enjoyed. Having coffee on the porch looking at the view was my favorite "to do" task of the day.
It is a secluded cabin, and takes about 30 minutes to get to once you leave the main road. It is paved all the way, which makes if easy driving. A little steep in places, but definitely not a stressful drive. If you want privacy, combined with a great mountain view, great kitchen then you found your place! Would definitely go again!
Our cabin is located at 3500 ft. The views are breathtaking, and the tranquility is surreal. If you like to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life this is your opportunity to enjoy nature and God's beauty at it's finish. Just remember, it's a 12 minute drive up the mountain to get this peace and beauty. So be sure to bring your groceries, etc. it's 20 minutes to nearest Grocer.
This is the adventure side of the Smokeys. Kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, Fly fishing, Zip lining, tubing. or just enjoying the multitude of waterfalls, and spectacular views, doesn't get any better. Biking doesn't get any better either. at the bottom of the mountain, you are on Hwy 28, head north and you will experience the "Tail of the Dragon" 318 Curves in 11 miles!
There are also fabulous places to eat, #1 being Cafe REL in Franklin, where you can experience a 5 star meal, at a 3 star price. most dinners are $12-$17. Tell Richard I sent you!
Close behind, and with a flare for the healthy and Scrumptous is The Everett Hotel and Bistro in Downtown Bryson City. They serve a variety of healthy organic dishes, sure to spoil the senses.
