About the 4th Arrondissement location:

This apartment is located in one of the best areas to stay in Paris. Le Marais is regarded as one of the best Parisian neighborhoods. The apartment is just 30 seconds from the historic Place de la Bastille with its glorious column and the Bastille Opera House. The farmers market of Richard Lenoir takes place here several days a week and is not to be missed. It is a great place to buy fresh produce in Paris as well as try local and ethnic delicacies.

The magnificient Place des Vosges is also a minute away by foot and is worth visiting. A favourite green space of Parisians, on a sunny Parisian day, you’ll find this square full of people having a picnic and children playing in its many fountains. The historic arcades surrounding the square house fine art galleries, chic restaurants, street musicians and the former home of French writer Victor Hugo, the man behind works such as Les Miserables et Notre Dame de Paris. You can visit Victor Hugo’s house for free and admire the views of the Places des Vosges from above.

The Marais district in the Fourth Arrondissement is full of restaurants, boulangeries and shopping opportunities. Take a tour along the Quai de l’Arsenal to see some of the famous Parisian “péniches”, or house boats. You can also take a cruise on the Canal Saint Martin. Stoll past the Bastille and towards the River Seine to reach the Ile Saint Louis, home of Berthillon ice cream, or the Ile de la Cite, home to the Notre Dame Cathedral. Don’t forget to visit the Promenade Plantee, a Parisian favourite for jogging and walking on an elevated park above the city.

Let yourself get lost in Paris and wander the streets, admiring the fine architecture, historic cobblestones and more. With its close proximity to the Bastille Metro Stop (Lines 1, 5 and 8), accessing other areas of the Paris is extremely easy. Just hop on a train to reach the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur and more! The Line 1 will quickly take you to Les Halles, giving you an easy link to Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports from central Paris. The RER A line runs from this station as well and provides the easiest way to get to Disneyland Paris.

Great Neighborhood - Super Parisian

  • 5 of 5

We rented this wonderful, cozy apartment next to Bastille for a few days. We absolutely loved this neighborhood, it's so Parisian! Lots of cools shops, bistros, and boutiques around the neighborhood, as well as a great fresh food market on Thursday and Sunday. Very easy to visit the normal tourist sites by Métro as Bastille and Saint Paul stops are so close by. The flat it was extremely comfortable and spacious for two people with all the amenities we needed. I will be coming back for work next year and definitely plan on staying here again.

Quaint Apartment, Lovely Location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is beautiful and quaint and in a lovely location. We had several issues arriving in Paris - delayed planes and trains and even lost a cell phone - but Paul's assistant was very patient and remained very communicative. 3 of us slept comfortably here (2 in the bed and one on the sofa bed). It's a great little base for exploring Paris and experiencing Parisian life as someone who lives there. Lots of shopping on rue Saint Antoine, an amazing outdoor market by Bastille and a beautiful little garden around the corner. The kitchen has what you need to make some easy meals at home which is great if you want to shop around at the farmers' market. Wifi worked well and made calling home very easy.

Had a Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in this apartment. The apart is very nice for a couple. The pictures are accurate (except for the fact that now there's a new sofa with arms) and everything worked perfect. We had some delay in arriving due to a connecting flight being delayed and our check-in person was very flexible in welcoming us. The place is clean and well maintained and the only thing that could have made it better was a balcony or something. The tradeoff is as it faces the courtyard, you have no city noise.

The Marais is a great neighborhood. Place des Vosges is beautiful and really 'Parisian'. There's a lot of nice shops, bars and restaurant's are very nearby - don't miss out on the sushi place towards the end of rue des Tournelles! There is a Velib station nearby as well if you want to try the public bikes. We found on Sunday many streets are closed to cars so we felt safe pedaling around - just make sure your credit card has an electronic chip.

Perfectly located with excellent amenities!

  • 5 of 5

My short stay in Paris was definitely even more pleasant when i saw the apartment i will be staying it. It is not a big apartment, however it is very conveniently designed thus it did not made me feel claustrophobic. It is in light, muted colors and is very comfortable. The bedroom faces interior courtyard therefor it quite at night to sleep and the sofa-bed in the living room makes it perfect if you wan to stay 3 or 4 people together. It is very centrally located and the neighborhood felt safe. Would recommend and plan to come back!

Car: not necessary

This very beautiful apartment is ideally located in Le Marais, near La Place des Vosges and La Place de la Bastille where the Opera of Paris is located. This is an old place, the oldest place of Paris originally named the Place Royale which construction, between 1605 and 1612 was decided by king Henry IV.

Four fabulous arcades surround the square, all made of red bricks and stone facings. Victor Hugo, one of France’s most famous novelist, did wrote the famous book 'Les Miserables' in his apartment located on the 6th Place des Vosges.

Le Centre Georges Pompidou, a mecca for modern art, and the Hotel de Ville are just next to your place. Along the boulevard Beaumarchais are located all kind of shops and stores: Bakery, Butchery, Supermarket, Restaurant, Cafe, Club, Laundromat,...and much more.
