DAVE and SUE WRITE, "I just wanted to let you know how much we loved staying at The Fire Place. The view was absolutely beautiful. Even though Dave's not a fireman's we thought the decor was so neat and creative. It really adds to the condo. We appreciated all of the instructions and little signs throughout the condo, too. You've anticipated any questions that anyone might have. Everything was great; we wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for letting some non-firefighters use and enjoy your vacation home. Sincerely, Sue and Dave."

Barbie and Jim Nellesen have owned this cabin since 1991. Jim is a retired Fire Captain from Anaheim Fire Dept. We raised our family vacationing in Tahoe and the kids have great memories. Jim's 33 year fire career inspired us to create the fire house theme. The best part is meeting all you folks and being a part of your good times at The Fire House.

BARBIE purchased this townhome in 1993

Why BARBIE chose Lake Tahoe Area

Barbie says, 'When I saw the view, I told the Captain that this was the place for us.'

The views are brreathtaking and they always thrill us no matter how many times we see them. We fall in love with the place every time we come. Watching from our deck is a panorama of seasons, days & nights, sunsets & sunrises. It's really awesome. You actually can feel the tension leaving your body by the 3rd day.

What makes this townhome unique

Secluded is the word. Away from busy highways, hustle and bustle of downtown, commercial venus. All that is down by the lake and casinos.

Real privacy. No one can see into your place from any other place around. It is totally supplied with everything that you will need to be comfortable.

The terrain around is very rugged and natural. The views took our breath away.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a absolutely charming townhome. Well furnished and beautifully decorated. Spacious but cozy with a great view of the mountains. Kitchen is well equipped and all the drawers and cabinets are labeled for your convenience. Warm and comfortable, perfect place to relax after a day of snowboarding on the slopes. The owners were an absolute pleasure to deal with and very understanding when we needed a little help to find the house arriving late at night.

The only hiccup to our otherwise great weekend was that the power went out on the second morning so we woke up a little chilly. But that's not the fault of the owners or the townhouse.

Would not hesitate to book this place again.

Beautiful View, Comfy/Cozy place, and nice owners all at an affordable price

  • 5 of 5

The place was great, had all the amenities we could need along with a gorgeous view of the lake. Located within 10 minutes of most places in South Tahoe and 30-40 minutes from great hiking. It was also the most affordable accommodation in the area and the owners were VERY easy to work with

Your home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Part of our family (3 adults, 2 children) spent a mini vacation and had a wonderful time! Took my nieces, age 6 and 9, to nearby Carson River and Blue Lake. They would later ask when we would be going back to the "house". They loved playing/sleeping in the loft. Perfect size for us, and the entire townhome had everything we needed (well-equipped kitchen, bedrooms, etc). We sat out on the deck enjoying the view of the lake, then took a short walk around the neighborhood. I thank Barbie for making the reservation process/check-out process so seamless. Thank you again!

Great Place!

What a wonderful home! The pictures don't do justice to the incredible view, not only of the lake, but of the Gardnerville area to the East. We had a glorious time in your cozy, well equiped home! The reservation process and personal contact were also very nice and appreciated. We will definitely be back and hopefully get to stay longer than 2 nights. Thank you!
