Mark & Cindy-lou,
Thank you for letting us stay at your cottage. We really enjoyed ourselves. The grand-kids had a great time and the canoe was put to good use. Nate and I even took the kayak out. The cottage had everything we needed and is very comfortable. It also made a great base for our day trips!
Great for our dogs. Nice and relaxing.
The only drawback was the algae bloom on the pond, which prevented us from using it to its full extent.
The listing is accurate, and every year there are new additions.
We would highly recommend this property (and will visit again and again).
Our family of 5 stayed comfortably at the cottage in late September and loved every minute of it. We put the heater to good use, as the temps were low at night, and we were sufficiently warm. During the day we took full advantage of the canoe and saw tons of wildlife. Mallard ducks, loons, fish, bald eagles, and coyotes in the distance. We even woke up to a snowy egret right in front of the cabin on Sunday morning! The campfire was a huge hit also. It was really nice to have wood available in the shed. Most of all we were so thankful to have a fully equipped kitchen! The kids loved sitting on the spinny bar stools, and we ate as a family each night at the dining room table. We hope (hope hope hope) we will be welcomed back to the cottage next fall, as it really was a perfect spot in which to enjoy time away! THANK YOU for such terrific accommodations.
We stayed at this quiet cottage for a week this summer. It was close enough to shop in Waterville but it felt like we were far away from any hustle and bustle!
Teenagers loved being able to fish from the flat bottom boat and hubby and daughter loved the canoe! Evening campfires and lots of room inside and outside for 6 people and 2 dogs. Went to Lake St. George swimming 2 times and loved it! Beautiful clear water. Free pass very nice as well.Day trip to Belfast for great food and shopping.
Great location for just un-plugging and doing lots of reading and puzzles.
Hosts were very helpful and the cottage is well stocked. Great to have washer and dryer in the cottage as well.
We never even watched a movie. The birds were so amazing! Eagles,Blue Heron and Osprey kept flying right by every day.
Hope to return!
Mark & Cindy Lou, A big fat thanks to a wonderful, restful, and relaxing week in the camp. With four kids and a puppy out can be hard to relax and even harder to find a place that happily accommodates us all. We took full advantage of every bed, boat, card and board game, and more than a few nights on the porch. Everyone caught at least one fish, even me at 33 caught my very first fish! Our new puppy loved being able to run around and especially loved playing in the muck....glad you had a hose! We took our boat out on China lake 4 or 5 times and took out down to Coppacotacpeeexyz (can't remember or spell!) Lake for one day.
Sadly, there was one casualty of us playing games on the porch while our pup "slept" inside. Apparently she really liked one of your throw pillows (so sorry!)
At any rate, just wanted to say thanks for a great week away and we will happily recommend the cottage to others. We appreciate how well stocked the kitchen was, and besides the mucky water, our only recommendation for improvement would be a hammock! Mommy lives to take naps in the sun :) -Penny & Tim
We had a lovely stay at this cottage on beautiful Lovejoy pond. The cottage is at the end of the road, and for most of our stay, we felt as though we had the pond to ourselves. The owners have included just about everything you would want to have in the cottage--both for cooking and for entertaining the kids. According to our kids, the only thing missing was the Internet, although we (the adults) were happy not to have it during our vacation. We spent many happy hours cooking, playing games, reading on the screen porch, and exploring the pond in the kayak or the canoe. We enjoyed watching the birds that make the pond their home, including a family of eagles. The owners were very friendly and helpful in answering any questions that we had about the property and the area. We were able to do a lot of things that were within approximately an hour's drive from the house, including hikes in the Belgrade Lakes area, visits to the shore towns of Camden and Freeport, and swimming in Lake St. George. Waterville is about 20 minutes away and is where we did most of our shopping. We also played golf at a local course in Albion as well as a course in Augusta. We would definitely come back.
