An absolute pleasure
This is without doubt one if the nicest flats we have stayed in. Location in Putney is perfect ( for us especially as we were doing some renovation up the road on our house )
There is a terrific view of the Thames from the lounge/ dining room. And close walk to rail and tube.
Warren was the perfect host, even calling us about a cable we had mistakenly left there after we left.
If this is the location you want don’t think twice. You’ll have a great time!
Warren answered our questions promptly and courteously
Apartment was spacious, quiet, very clean-easily accesible by public transport-great walks along the Riverbank-would very much like to return soon.
Lovely apartment in great area
The Putney area is full of things to do. We walked safely for miles around the area, and found the public transportation amazing. We did not rent a car at all.
The apartment was cozy and well-furnished. Nick and Wendy easily accessible, and we talked with them regularly.
We would definitely return and recommend this to our friends.
Very convenient and lovely view
My husband and I loved our week spent in this vacation home! The queen size bed is the feature that drew us to it, and everything else will bring us back. The flat is spacious, warm, well appointed, clean and quiet. The hosts are friendly.
It is also in the most wonderful location.
*Beautiful views of the Thames right outside the window.
*5 minute walk to the Putney Bridge tube station. From which the District Line took us nearly everywhere we wanted to go in the city.
**8 stops to Victoria Station which is a short walk to the coach station from where we departed on tours.
**or all the way to Westminster (Abbey, Parliament)
**or Tower Hill (Tower of London)
** or Embankment (short walk to West End shows)
*10 min walk to Putney train station from where we travelled to visit the Jurassic Coast
*Short walk for groceries or restaurants or a few shops along Putney High street.
Being American cycling fans, we enjoyed the Dynamo restaurant around the corner with the wonderful menu and cycling decor.
And the best surprise of our week was New Years Eve. Being on the Thames we hoped, but did not expect, to see the London fireworks on the skyline. Our hopes were fulfilled; we saw them simultaneously on tv and live over the trees. And once the London fireworks were finished, there was a local display right across the river in full view from this lovely flat. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
Thank you for making this flat available to guests. When we are in London next we will definitely inquire to stay here.
Thank you very much for your review, We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay! I know that I can sit and watch the river for hours. Always something to see!
An Extraordinary Place To Stay and Enjoy London
This flat is a rare treat for visitors to London. It is situated south of the Thames with a beautiful view of the historic river and access to a backyard bordering on the bank of it,
The flat is tastefully decorated with many pieces of traditional English furniture and
attractive wall hangings, primarily Chinese prints/lithographs.
The organization of the rooms gives you a front room overlooking the Thames and a
bedroom overlooking the road on which the flat is located. These two room are connected by a hallway off which the bathroom and kitchen each are connected.
The master bedroom is spacious with plenty of closet space, a chest of drawers, bedside lamps and a desk. We slept there and is was a very good mattress
The living room includes a trundle bed which allows you to accommodate additional people. We did not use it.
Both the kitchen and bathroom are fitted our with next fixtures and cheerful for that reason.
If you wish to cook for yourselves you can easily do so buying foods and vegetables to store in a small fridge and freezer. We did so and it worked well for us.
A washer and drying are located in the kitchen and support an extended stay. We used it and it served us well.
There is a large collection of interesting guide books and maps on London with which
newcomers to London can orient themselves.
The flat allows you to settle comfortably into south of London life. We enjoyed going out for early morning walks along the river and buying the morning newspaper .
We were able to plan day trips into London proper and return afterwards from the
hustle and bustle of it, happy to look forward to the comfort of the flat.
The flat is easily accessible and you have one set of stairs to climb which have a
bannister which makes up and down easy
The flat has reliable Wi-Fi to which it was easy to interface. It also has a good working television which we rarely used as part of our purpose was to escape from it.
The host is very friendly and makes you immediately feel at home.
We can strongly recommend the rental.
Our hope is to use it again on our next visit to London
