After the hustle and bustle of city life in Houston we fulfilled a dream to move to the peaceful Rocky Mountains of New Mexico and build a log home on property purchased some years before. We had a good 10 years at this property as our home. In 2002 we became missionaries to Africa and have lived there since. See Help4Hope Afrika on FaceBook,
Judi purchased this House in 1991
Why Judi chose Cloudcroft
We built this house in a secluded area in the Lincoln National Forest as a haven for us and for our friends and family. We are adamant that it stay peaceful. Loud groups, shooting, four wheelers and motorcycles are not allowed!
What makes this House unique
Every aspect of Livin Hi is a story. You will see evidence of travels around the world. If you are a hunter or just enjoy the 'hunting lodge' atmosphere. you will enjoy Livin Hi! There's even a Victorian room and bath to make the ladies happy! The view from the 35 foot long covered upper and lower decks fill you with awe of God's creation. Bask in the sun on the large balcony off the master bedroom. You will not be disappointed and will never be able to take it all in! A jewel in the rough!

Memorable White Christmas
Our extended family was able to make a wish come true and check one thing off our bucket list. We all spent a beautiful white Christmas at the Livin Hi Lodge. We enjoyed sledding, baking, presents, everything one could ask for. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were able to make many great family memories at this incredible place. Many thanks to the Sprayberrys for being willing to share their truly "peaceful haven" in the Cloudcroft mountains.
Perfect get away for friends or family to relax.
Great trails and roads for riding or walking. Elk were bugling, turkey running around and the aspen's had changed color. The home and porches were comfortable and relaxing. The owners have decorated with many African and American animal mounts and an interesting collection of things from Africa.
Livin Hi, serene yet breathtaking
The lodge is a testament to the owners character and sense of adventure. The mix of African theme and personal touches made the home intriguing. Comfortable accommodations with everything you need and more.
Peaceful, restful, secluded, and roomy
We always try to book unique places, and this one was certainly one of our favorites! We live a hectic city life so this place was the exact opposite and was exactly what we needed for our week away. In addition we felt like we got to experience a taste of Africa through the animals there, and also felt connected with the owners by being in their Africa themed home. The amenities in the kitchen were better and more plentiful than anyplace we've ever stayed. We loved the large balcony porches and spent a lot of time out there also. Our teenage boys loved the outdoors and when not out on bike adventures, they enjoyed hanging up their hammocks in the nearby woods and hanging out. We would definitely stay here again!
Livin Hi is Awsome!
Livin Hi lodge was the perfect place for our family get together. We spent 3 wonderful days and the house was perfect. Beautiful scenery and very quiet atmosphere. Judi was awesome and even made a couple of personal calls from the other side of the world to check on us. We had 15 people total and with the lower apartment, we were never crowded. It felt like a home away from home. Now that we have stayed during the middle of summer, it would be interesting to stay during the snows of winter. Loved it all.
Stunning home, tucked away from the world
A scant 20 minute drive from Cloudcroft, midway down of the most scenic canyons in the Sacramentos, Livin Hi was a perfect rental for our group of 6. The youngens were fascinated with all the wildlife trophies spread throughout the house. As a chef, I appreciated the well-appointed, spacious kitchen. The home is vast...plenty of room to spread out, and plenty of space for kids to explore outside. Definitely memorable, and the owners are exceptionally friendly.
A PEACEFUL place to get away! Rest, Hike, Drive watch the Humming Birds! White Sands Desert & Carlsbad Caverns as a day trip. Historical Lincoln, NM & Old Mesilla also a good day trip. Charming Village of Cloudcroft is 20 minutes away with quaint shops and good food. A meal at the famous 'Lodge' is a must! This country is abundant with Rocky Mountain Elk and Merriam turkey and if you look hard you may also see deer, bobcat, black bear and cougar. No cell phone coverage here either! Sorry, we have a 'No Refund' policy. We encourage guests to purchase cancellation insurance from HomeAway/VRBO. NO FOUR WHEELERS, MOTOR CYCLES, GUNS OR OTHER LOUD NOISE. This is a peaceful neighborhood, not a resort.
