My family owns property here in Tulemar Gardens. We have offered our home for rent here for several years. Recently we have started booking rentals for our friends who also have homes here. This is one of those units.
Cindy Houck purchased this bungalow in 2005
After looking for a long time in Manuel Antonio for a home to buy, we finally found that Tulemar Gardens was the only location with all paved roads to the home, a private beach and a gated community. We fell in love love with the area.
The bungalow is located inside Tulemar Resort. Guests can enjoy access to the resort's 4 pools, private beach, onsite restaurant and beach cafe, and 2 scenic hiking trails with abundant wildlife all around.
We just came back from ten days in Manuel Antonio. Our family of four (kids 9 & 11) stayed in Tulemar at a bungalow. The large, private property was amazingly beautiful. It was lush and picture perfect with plants, flowers, birds, butterflies, monkeys and sloths a common sight. The property had four beautiful pools and a private picturesque beach that was never very crowded. The water was warm and the waves were not very big. We used the free boogie boards and kayaks often but brought our own snorkel gear.
The level of customer service was unparalleled. Every single staff member from our maid, bartenders (Daniela and Arlen were awesome!) to wait staff and concierge were there to please. Rarely have I experienced such a genuine eagerness to please in any of my travels all over the world. Our concierge Chris was very attentive. He made arrangements for drivers, dinners, tours and everything else we needed all with a smile and happy heart. I really didn't think we would need a concierge for I am capable of planning on my own but I have to admit that it was nice to have someone there as our "go to" for anything.
Onto the units. Wow. The view was amazing from every window. It was like sleeping in a tree top in the jungle. The bungalows have plenty of space for our family to spread out and the kitchen was great for quick meals.
All totaled Tulemar was perfect. We saw more wildlife every day at the property than we saw in the M.A. state park! We will come back again and stay at Tulemar! The restaurants within walking distance were great. We ate local and drank the tap water everywhere..... I don't even drink my tap water here in Northern California so that is saying something. Tulemar is perfect for couples, families, or anyone else who wants a worry free vacation in paradise!
What a FANTASTIC property!
We stayed in Tulemar Bungalows.... You really feel like you're in a tree house in an isolated jungle. Wish we stayed longer.
From the moment you drive onto the property you are transported into a dream. And yet, just outside the gates are all the great local restaurants and services you need.
The staff is amazing.... Everyone was so kind and genuine. From the restaurant staff to the outstanding service at the PRIVATE beach to the shuttle driver and staff. They made our entire trip a true pleasure.
The highlight of our stay was the Sloth Walk with Tom. He is an amazing guide who has a great personality. We saw 9 sloths, mating howler monkeys, and countless birds. We saw more wildlife on the property than in the park.
In fact, there's little reason to leave with the A+ beach on site.
We did enjoy the great views at the restaurant for breakfast also.
So, JUST BOOK IT!
You won't be sorry.
Such a wonderful resort. Tulemar exemplifies how a resort vacation should be! The amazing bungalows/villas, beach and service are so impressive! A must on your bucket list. Tree house living where the monkey and sloths come to visit you!
Another great stay at the Tulemar Bungalows. The views were spectacular - over 180 degrees of the ocean and mountainside. We (including our two girls ages 8 and 9) used the complimentary kayaks located at the private beach to paddle to a great snorkeling spot in the shared bay with some other gorgeous beaches. The hotel also arranged for a whitewater river rafting excursion which was a great family adventure. We will be back!
Believe all the great comments that you read about Tulemar! My family and I booked a week at a bungalow in the Tulemar resort through our new best friend Chris, our personal concierge for our stay. From the day we booked our bungalow until we left for the airport on our last day, Chris and the team at Tulemar made us feel like royalty. Chris made the planning process for the trip a pleasure by helping us figure out the best activities to participate in (we highly recommend the zip lining and sunset cruise) as well as the best way to get to and from the resort (he arranged for a driver to pick us up and also for local transportation while we were there). When we arrived at the resort we were amazed at the natural beauty, especially the wildlife and AMAZING sunsets over the Pacific Ocean every night. The private beach was truly breathtaking and even though the resort was booked, it was far from crowded. We took advantage of the complimentary boogie boards and kayaks and also highly recommend dining at the beach side restaurant. The facilities are truly amazing including the three pools available for families. Our 8 year old kept us busy from sun up till sun down and sitting pool side with a few drinks watching the sunset while she swam was a great way to end the day. Everyone at Tulemar and in Manuel Antonio / Quepos area were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Very safe, very clean, great food, amazing sightseeing, friendly people made this a real once in a lifetime experience. I travel internationally frequently and Chris and the Tulemar team have made Costa Rica and Tulemar our new #1 destination. We are already planning our return trip with friends and family!!! Thanks Chris for making our vacation truly amazing!!! PURA VIDA!
Our family of four had an outstanding experience at Tulemar. We booked a bungalow through Dave--it was the least expensive of the lodging options, but comfortable and attractive in every way. Although every home in the resort was booked, it never felt crowded--we often had one of the (clean, well-heated) swimming pools to ourselves. The beach too was uncrowded, with plenty of chairs and towels and boogie boards, and delightfully warm water. The wildlife was perhaps the highlight: monkeys partied on the roof of our bungalow, a sloth slept in a tree right on the beach, and there were colorful birds everywhere. Our concierge Chris was warm and helpful in every regard, taking us grocery shopping and advising us on restaurants and activities. Indeed, all of the staff were friendly and professional. We couldn't have asked for more.
My wife and I stayed for 2 nights on part of our trip to Costa Rica. We wished we stayed longer. The bungalow was spectacular. It's luxury in the jungle.
Ashlee organized a private driver to and from San Jose for us, as well as rafting and zip lining. We didn't have to do anything.
The service was beyond expectations.
We are looking to come back again but this time with the entire family and for longer!
