Bayside Getaway is your chance to experience the Maine shoreline with close proximity to beautiful Acadia National Park. The home sits on 1.6 acres of land directly on the ocean with views of Blue Hill Mountain and Bartlett's Island. You can enjoy sunsets from our beach. While walking the beach you can see common Maine wildlife like seals, harbor porpoises, osprey, and bald eagles. Both Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are a short drive away. Whether you want to hike, bike, swim or explore Acadia National Park has something for everyone. After working up your appetite in Acadia, Bar Harbor has great shopping and dining!

I grew up 5 miles away on the Bayside Road. After travelling all over the US...this is the most beautiful area and we wanted to own a place to bring our children and share this amazing National Park and surrounding areas.
Amanda purchased this House in 2012
What makes this House unique
Unlike many other properties in this area, Bayside Getaway has simply 3 steps down to a flat usable beach. You can walk for miles in either direction. The beach does not have smelly tidal flats. It is also located at the dead- end of a beautiful network of camp roads which are fantastic for peaceful walks or biking. At night, you cannot hear a sound except the lapping of the waves and the stars are amazing! We truly feel we have found the perfect spot...beautiful, peaceful, safe, close to everything, and with a huge view!

Very comfortable home with everything we could ask for! Beautiful, peaceful waterfront location!
Wonderful home on the waterfront. Would recommend for couples & families or anyone looking for a great getaway!
Relaxing in Trenton
My wife, sister-in-law and her husband were all extremely satisfied with our stay at Amanda's lovely home. It is a beautiful setting right on the water to be experienced from a very tastefully decorated home that we enjoyed immensely and would love to return again. Easy drive to Desert Island for hiking in Acadia and to Bar Harbor for great choices in restaurants and shops.
A restful setting
The site in question is located on a quiet peninsula in the Town of Trenton, Maine. Initially, the property seemed somewhat remote, but we soon realized what a blessing that was. In short, it is what one hopes for when vacationing and visiting a premier destination. The property is adjacent to Mt. Desert Island and a short drive from Blue Hill. Nearby Ellsworth met all shopping needs. In actuality, we were just minutes from Rte. 3 at the Trenton Bridge. In short, this peaceful, private setting with gorgeous views made our stay especially enjoyable. Union River Bay, the quiet of the Maine woods, a well-furnished home, tastefully decorated yet retaining a child-friendly environment, invited one to sit on the upper deck, watch the little ones play, read a book, enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day's adventure, or stroll down to the beach when the tide was out to explore endless tidal pools. Our children and grandchildren loved this place. For everyone it was magical. Personally, I loved the starry night skies away from city lights.
The owners have decorated the home tastefully, and the furnishings invite one to relax and enjoy. Plenty of space, full baths on every floor, four bedrooms and a downstairs that could serve as a separate entity if multi-family privacy is desired. We quickly fell in love with its hominess. We expect to return. Even the neighbors were pleasant and friendly.
Thanks ever so much!

Perfect Maine vacation!
We've rented a few properties in various locations over the past years, and vacationing at this property was by far the best experience we've ever had! The house was clean and charming, with all the modern amenities--and extra bedrooms and bathrooms--we could ever need, yet still maintaining a quaint "get away" feeling. We loved the location on the water, and loved opening the two sliding doors leading out to the deck to let in the fresh ocean breeze. Walks along the beach during low tide were a favorite evening activity for us, and we collected many shells, rocks, and driftwood. We were also able to enjoy hikes in Acadia and shopping and dinners out in Bar Harbor, since it was such a short, easy drive away. We were also happy with how easy it was to communicate with the owners: they answered all our questions, and gave us all the information we needed to make our stay very comfortable. I would most definitely recommend this property to all my friends and relatives, and to anyone looking for the perfect place to vacation in Maine!
Who knew the house would be our favorite part?
This house was perfect for us...quiet location, great beach access, super clean and with all the comforts of home. We spent every morning playing in the ocean and investigating the tide pools and spent every evening watching the sunset on the beach, grilling out and cuddling with our kids while we tried to count the stars. Truly amazing memories! When we did tear ourselves away from the house, it was a short trip to Acadia, which we loved as well, but with the busy tourist season on MDI, we were glad to have a peaceful retreat to come home to at night. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your lovely home!
Amazing family vacation
I almost *don't* want to write a review... Half of me doesn't want others to discover this amazing rental but at the same time, the owners really do deserve the feedback and credit for providing such a great experience. So here we go...
First, the pictures do not do the property justice. Online, it looks like a comfortable and attractive home. In person, it's much more impressive. It's neat, clean, not cluttered, tastefully decorated, has a stocked kitchen, and has a layout that offers both privacy and shared space. A great find! It was an added bonus that the house is 100% toddler-friendly. We had a three-generation family trip and being in a rental home where we knew the toddler couldn't get into too much trouble really allowed us to relax.
The location is perfect. You're close to everything on MDI, but being just off the island lets you feel away from it all. We made multiple trips to Acadia for outdoors fun, as well as a few Bar Harbor visits for the great dining.
The outdoor spaces at the house are great. During the hot, sunny weather, we sat on the "lower deck" and loved exploring the beach. We all enjoyed biking on the camp roads and saw a family of deer one morning. We wish we had our kayaks. The water in the cove is just so calm and inviting. Maybe next year.
A "heads up" for future renters about the area (not the property) - Our family had it in our minds that we'd probably come across a few local farm stands for our produce. There's one farm stand in town and the prices were ridiculous ($2.50 for an ear of corn) and the quality wasn't great. It's worth stocking up at the IGA or driving the extra mile to Hannafords (which does have a selection of local veggies and fruit) or Wal-Mart to cover these needs.
Thank you again to the owners for sharing your wonderful home. Happy vacationing!
