Charming bayfront cottage among the dunes!

  • 5 of 5

Exactly as advertised! Very quiet, cozy, and comfortable. Stayed at the beginning of February knowing the weather would not be compatible with lounging on the beach, and specifically selected this property for the hot tub, which we used every night, as well as the fire place, which was in constant use as well. One suggestion - the particular fragrance of the air fresheners was a bit overwhelming at first, but we go used to it quickly and wasn't a big deal, but perhaps a more neutral scent would be worth trying. Also, I was a bit surprised at how far out the tide actually goes when it's low (there really only is a sliver of usable beach, and it's pretty rocky.) The rest of the land out toward the water is a fairly vast exapanse of mud flats, and if it's the same case in the summer, I'm not sure if entering the water without walking through deep mud would be possible, even when the tide is in, so if you are planning to stay during the warmer months and going swimming off the beach behind the house, I would strongly recommend doing some research on the beach and/or checking with Glenn, the owner. He seems very nice, quick to respond, and clearly cares deeply about his property, and it absolutely shows. We had a wonderful time, and check in and out is a breeze with the keyless entry system. If you are looking for a quiet, somewhat off the grid waterfront retreat where you can just relax in the hot tub and enjoy the view and abundant nature, then this is the place for you. If you're more into a lively beach experience with shops, boardwalk, and dining steps away, Rehoboth might be a better bet, though we didn't mind the 30 minute trip there every day for dinner, and were happy to leave "town" afterward and arrive home to a quiet beach house for drinks and a night time soak in the hot tub :)

Cozy beach front property

  • 5 of 5

Lovely beach front cape cod style home. An older home but renovated and updated with care. We stayed during the off season (February) with the intent of relaxing and enjoying the views. This house delivered in both areas. Great ocean views from the living room through multiple sliding doors and the hot tub gave us opportunity to be outside despite the cold weather. Relaxing was easy thanks to comfortable furniture, gas fireplace, and an attention to detail. Beach towels by the back door for the hot tub, a rack of keurig cups next to the machine, excellent linens and more means you can leave everything at home and just enjoy. Glenn is a gracious host and quick to respond to an email if you have questions.

Also, I was skeptical regarding the claim that the hot tub was professionally serviced after each visit but as we left a service truck pulled in with a gentleman to service the hot tub. Just some piece of mind if that’s something that would concern you.

Great, quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were given this getaway by our church for Pastor Appreciation. It was first scheduled for December, but because of ongoing renovations at our church, we had to change the date. The owner was very helpful and allowed us to select another date. Upon arrival, we were greeted with fresh flowers and a very clean and inviting beach home. We had a very relaxing time--and to make it even better, we were able to bring our two dogs with us (helped me from being too homesick!). The home is directly on the beach and we enjoyed walking down to the water with our dogs every day. The kitchen is fully equipped and included a Keurig for our morning coffee. There is really nothing I would change about the home--for us, it was perfect. Definitely recommend for a relaxing, quiet time to unwind.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The place exceeded our expectations. The house was immaculate and very cozy. The beautiful views from the back and deck and steps away from the beach. Already recommended it to family and friends. We will definitely be back in the future.
