Our trip to San Diego was fantastic from start to finish. We loved our house on Imperial Beach. It was beautiful, spacious, clean and on a great beach. We liked that it was easily accessible to all the places we went to visit . Mission Beach for surf lessons. La Jolla for kayaking. Coronado for shopping and to visit Sea World. The best days were right on Imperial Beach where we enjoy walking the beach in the mornings seeing dolphins swim by and watching the surfers .
Thanks for providing such a great home for our vacation.
We really enjoyed the house, thank you for the hospitality. I would like to say the location is a bit out of the way from downtown or from the bars and restaurants but for the price we can't complain. If I could fix one thing it would be to update the appliances. Besides the TV things were a little outdated and some didn't work. Having the Sea wall as your back yard barrier was really cool and we enjoyed watching the local surfers. Maybe buy a wetsuit and have as an option to rent when the family is renting the family. Overall I would have to say the trip was an 8-10. I would def. come back for a second vacation.
Very nice house. Lots of space but not too big where it becomes tiresome to walk around. Fernando, the property manager, is a great guy & a pleasure to deal with.
There are great views from anywhere in the house-the patio & roof are especially good for sunsets. All the standard creature comforts, (towels, linens, dish soap, plates & silverware, etc.) were provided, so the only thing we had to buy was our food.
Two minor points of criticism: One, the garage is very small. I have a full size Yukon & the only way I got it in there was to park at a diagonal. Two, there's only 2 TV's in the place-one in the living room downstairs & one in a guest room upstairs. To be fair, no one goes to the beach to watch TV; but at home, I've developed a habit of watching at bedtime so I missed it a bit.
At worst, these are slight inconveniences & at best, I'm nitpicking. This is a terrific place to stay & relax with the family. We all had a terrific time & hope to return next summer.
Our family has stayed in this house twice and it accommodates all of us well. We stayed there two years ago, and this visit was a little disappointing. Some simple amenities such as an outside electric grill, patio umbrella, radio did not work and we had to fix some to use. The side gate was broke and fell on one of my nephews (they did fix it, but did not notify us that it was happening during our visit). Many of the linens that we used 2 years ago were still being used and not many upgrades were noticed in the house. The back room toilet still did not work properly and the ceiling fans are tricky. The view and location are beautiful and perfect. But this house needs upgrades and a little attention to justify the cost.
My family enjoyed our stay, the location on the beach is perfect, but it seems the home is in need of repairs and needs some TLC.
We chose to celebrate our 50th anniversary with family "on the beach" with our three married children and our grandchildren. We ranged in age from 1-70. The convenience of 808's immediate access to the ocean from the privacy of four bedrooms/four baths/our well-stocked kitchen with indoor and outdoor eating options was ideal! We merely hosed down sandy bodies in the courtyard and stepped inside onto a beach towel! Our individual waking, eating, bathroom and sleeping needs were easy to manage while everyone else could play on the beach or watch the fun from the master balcony or third floor rooftop deck which also provided safety and privacy to "sleep under the stars" on air mattress we brought!
Fernando and his cleaning crew greeted us promptly and assisted with easy check in and checkout! The close proximity of the pier, affordable parking, local beach shops, restaurants and quiet pace of IB make us wish for a repeat or longer stay.
Dishes (formal and plastics for patio), silverware and large pans were plentiful. Bathrooms and kitchen worked well and were stocked plentifully with linens. A bonus high chair was greatly appreciated and utilized!
A pleasant blessing and memorable time for EVERYONE: We will cherish memories of our children walking the beach hand-in-hand, playing ball & frisbee, body surfing, building sand castles & puzzles.
