We are a family of 6 living in Baltimore Maryland. We are a hard working, self employed family. We love going to the Lake to relax, go wake boarding, fishing and swimming.
Romy purchased this house in 2004
We were looking for a place for a long time at a lake where we can use our boat. When we found Lake Wallenpaupak we fell in love with it. We found this piece of property that had the ugliest little house on it but the yard with all the stone work was just so cute. We completely changed the house into what it is now. We love the outdoor fireplace. It cooks the most delicious marshmallows.
Even though we are in a community it feels like you are secluded because of the lay out of the property and woods.
The people are extremely nice in the neighborhood.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. We loved sitting on the deck at night or at the fire pit! It was so close to the lake and very relaxing!
We stayed for two weeks. The home has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. It's steps away from the lake. How tub, AC (although cool nights you don't need it), outdoor fireplace right in the heart of the lake. We saw a bear (crossing 507), deer, bald eagles, a hummingbird, toads, and chipmunks. We caught pickerel, sunfish, and bass right off the dock. Not overly priced for a lake Wally house.
The owners were great and very communicative before our stay. The house was easy to find and access. Loved everything about it - the living room with vaulted ceilings and big windows was a great place to congregate as was the deck, and the patio where the grill was. Fire pit and hot tub were added bonuses!
My friends and I were very impressed with the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as it was a perfect weekend getaway from the city.
The house was clean and well prepared for us upon arrival. The linens were provided and prepped on our beds. We cooked every meal, and all the utilities (oven, stove, etc) worked well.
We walked to the lake and enjoyed the view.
The grill and hot tub were our favorite amenities as well :)
I recommend this location, as my friends and I had a relaxing and fun time.
I like how close it is off the highway however I felt it took so long to get anywhere, 1 hr to the falls, 1hr 15min to Jim Thorpe, I felt this limited our activities but I am sure it is like this all over the Poconos. The lake was beautiful, we didnt use it as it was October but enjoyed the views. It always took a few days to hear back from Romy and had to track her down a few times in terms of booking but things got done. She was pretty quick on response while we were there by text. No wifi, very limited service. Hot tub worked great but bring some shoes as you have to walk on rocks to get to it. Overall it was clean and well represented. We had a great time.
This is a beautiful home, like a sanctuary in the trees. Everything was clean, the household was well-furnished and had nice, airy space,, and the owner was very responsive to our questions and needs. We spent a gorgeous week relaxing and boating, and exploring the area which has wildlife sanctuaries, some decent restaurants, and some great artisan foods, shops, galleries, and the world's best pastry shop 4 miles down the road. The privacy and quiet in late September were wonderful. The house does not have internet but we had no trouble finding nice cafe's and libraries nearby that did, so it was good to disengage a bit. The hot tub and fire pit were fun. The house is so nice you don't mind if you have a rainy day, either. We enjoyed ourselves very much and thank the owner, Romy.
