About Romy

We are a family of 6 living in Baltimore Maryland. We are a hard working, self employed family. We love going to the Lake to relax, go wake boarding, fishing and swimming.

Romy purchased this house in 2004

Why Romy chose Poconos

We were looking for a place for a long time at a lake where we can use our boat. When we found Lake Wallenpaupak we fell in love with it. We found this piece of property that had the ugliest little house on it but the yard with all the stone work was just so cute. We completely changed the house into what it is now. We love the outdoor fireplace. It cooks the most delicious marshmallows.

What makes this house unique

Even though we are in a community it feels like you are secluded because of the lay out of the property and woods.

The people are extremely nice in the neighborhood.

We loved the lake house and had a great week!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The house had all the amenities we needed plus a dock. The great room was nice and open and a cheery place to sit and chat. We ate meals on the deck, played dominoes on the kitchen table and made smores and hotdogs on the outside fireplace. The hot tub was very relaxing after a day on the lake. We brought our boat so we enjoyed cruising the lake, fishing and beaching the boat on Cairns Island. We hiked around the wooded neighborhood. We saw deer in the yard and one evening a bear walked right by the house on the road and on its return journey walked right through the front yard and across the driveway. A few evenings later we saw a bear in the woods as we were driving out of the neighborhood to go to dinner. We would rent this home again!

Away From It All

  • 5 of 5

We would rent this home again, without a doubt. My 14-year-old LOVES nature--snakes, salamanders, deer, and all creatures found under rocks. Needless to say, the surrounding woods did not disappoint! The home is lovely, updated, with a washer and dryer, dishwasher, tons of videos, wifi, and the most beautiful deck for eating. We fished from the dock, boated on the lake at Promised Land National Park, and our favorite "event" was Claws and Paws Wild Animal Park. In addition to all that, Romy is a delight to work with.

Great home base for a fishing reunion!

  • 5 of 5

This review is a bit late but we had an excellent time in NE Pennsylvania at this property. My buddies and I get together once a year for an annual fishing trip and this house had it all. Ample room for all of us to have a bed, great kitchen for cooking family style meals, a huge great great room for us all to hang out in - which was handy since it rained one day - and access to docks to park our boats. We had the best fishing on Winnepaupak too! A really, really great value - the best in PA and trust me, I've looked all over that state!

We were all very pleased with the stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome time at this house! The owner's were very easy to get ahold of if you had any questions! The kitchen had everything you needed to cook, which was very nice! The living room was very specious! We all spent alot of time down in the basement playing foosball! If you have a small group of people and are looking to get away, this is the place to go! We plan on going back in the near future!

Beautiful Living room and surroundings, but...

  • 3 of 5

My husband and I, along with my mother, and his parents and brother and sister in law stayed here for a long weekend, mainly to do some museum tours. Our reason for booking this was the cute pictures as well as the hot tub. Walking into the home, I just loved the gorgeous living room with big, bay window. The view was great, even though not directly on the water which I thought it was, I might have misread. The kitchen was cute but table only fits six comfortably. (We fit seven but it was tight.) Also loved sitting on the porch outside (but we had to fix the screen door, it kept coming off track from the start.) I will say if you enjoy cooking at home this is not the place for you. The kitchen was extremely mismatched and barely had the dishes to serve. Between the pan type and the electric stove, even bacon was sticking to the pan. There was also no cheese grater, strainer, or pot holder, and the knives were dull. And I think maybe three wine glasses... one was definitely a mason jar glued to a candle holder lol. The bedrooms were cute, closets were in want, but that's not a huge deal. If you enjoy TV there were no DVDs provided, only very old VHS tapes which definitely gave me 90s flashbacks. The water in the downstairs bathroom was also difficult to turn off, as either direction would turn it on so you had to find a specific middle ground. Also, it would have been nice to have better lighting in the upstairs bedroom and a coffee table in the upstairs living room. So, overall the place was nice, and if you are looking to just enjoy nature and do a puzzle with missing pieces (we did and we loved Snoopy!) then this is for you. Again, the best part was the gorgeous bay window (although giant hand print was on it upon arrival) as well as the hot tub, it was nice when it was finally hot. Taking morning walks down the lane were quite enjoyable and seeing many deer. But alas, I would not stay here again. I did appreciate the decent communication with Romy, so that's good. Just a few suggestions and warnings for any looking to stay here. Hope it helps.
