Naturally you can always head to Newport. In just a short 20 minutes, you can be enjoying the sights and sounds of Newport. Newport's history is remarkable in many ways, but perhaps the most unique aspect is that so much of its history is still visible on the landscape in an unparalleled concentration of preserved architecture. Newport continues its commitment to liberty of conscience and religion and Newport's resilience and creativity in meeting the economic changes that have overtaken it offer strong proof that diversity works in keeping the city alive and vibrant.
Wifi, Cable TV with lots of channels
What an amazing place! The views were spectacular. The neighborhood was quiet. Found a great little hidden treasure. A replica Irish pub. It was a perfect vacation house!
Size, location, view, all perfect. Kids and adults loved it and everyone wants to go back. Air conditioners a bit old and loud, but worked. Could use a few more dishes and pans. It was great that the kids could swim right in the backyard. Loved the porches and deck. Very close houses, but this property set up for backyard privacy. Would definitely recommend.
This house and location is absolutely The Spot, if you are looking for
a quiet get-away near water, and near an amazing city like Newport. We
were a party of 3, no kids, and a golden retriever, and everyone felt
very comfortable, never cramped. The house comes with an adorable
cabana to the side (aka 3rd bedroom) where I stayed, it was new,
clean, spacious, and very very comfortable to sleep in. We were the
first renters since the renovation, and the house was immaculate and
literally EVERYTHING brand new! The realtor (and/or owners) went above
and beyond to stock the house with everything you could ever need to
live there for a week or more. We have rented from different places
before, and usually have to bring everything from toilet paper to
laundry soap, this place even provided us with doggy bisquits and dog
dishes! The only thing we had to ever buy for the kitchen was bbq
skewers! Portsmouth is a cute little town; there is a strip right on
the bayside, a 15 min walk from the house, with several small "townie"
bars, and one Amazing restaurant, Scampi. The nearest grocery spot is
an adorable marketplace, 10 min drive, with fresh produce every day, a
great deli, butcher and seafood bar. We went there everyday! Newport
is less than 20 minute drive, which is very convenient to get to great
beaches and the Wharf. We were a little worried from the pictures that
the house had marshlands in front of it (bad for ticks for the dog)
but it turned out to be just beach grass; again very very clean, great
water for swimming, and a great front yard for outdoor games or just
sunbathing! And wait til you see the sunsets EVERY evening! I would
absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet and
clean get-away for a small family.
Our family had a wonderful time at this scenic waterfront getaway. Our children were amazed at the water wildlife, Rain or shine we had plenty to do. The house was clean, comfortable and relaxing. The local resurants were convienient and delicious. We can't wait to come back and will have no problem recommending it to others.
