This home is ''loaded'' (with appliances, central air, cable TVs, stereo, high speed Internet cable and wireless, books, games, and an outdoor shower).
Your friendly hosts Peter and Gail Adler live in Wellesley. Peter teaches international law and business at University of Massachusetts while Gail does medical research and teaches at Harvard Medical School. We love to hike, kayak, and sail on the warm tidal Cape Cod Bay.
Peter's mother designed the house and garden. It's really unique with an almost 180 degree view of a salt marsh and tidal pond, with only one other house in view far across the pond.

A gracious, well-appointed family home set in an idyllic "pastoral" landscape. The interior spaces couldn't be better suited for a family get-together: comfortable common areas include the family room, the screened porch with a large dining table and beautiful views and the outdoor deck with comfortable seating and the same breathtaking views. The very private upstairs suite was ideal for our son, his wife and their two young children, with two bedrooms separated by a bathroom. Downstairs, the king bedroom and adjoining study gave us plenty of privacy and the lovely views as well. Our other son and his wife slept in the twin bedded second floor bedroom, very spacious and bright, with plenty of space for their infant. The kitchen is thoughtfully supplied compared to other homes we have rented, making preparation of meals very simple. A spectacular, utterly private town beach is just 2 miles away. The larger beach with a playground is equally close. A five-minute walk brings you to one of the Cape's excellent restaurants for dinner and a great, funky breakfast stop. We love the serenity and beauty of the bay side of Cape Cod. We plan to stay there for the second year in a row. This home is a real find!
We arrived on Sunday, August 14 and found the house to be considerably larger than expected accommodating our large family easily. The house was clean, linens and towels provided were ample and we were delighted to find everything ready for our use. On the one issue we had with the BBQ, Peter was prompt to get it repaired. Notes for finding suitable beaches, grocery stores and other essentials were very helpful.
We made use of the outdoor deck and, when necessary, the indoor screened porch for eating.
Thank you, Peter, for our enjoyable time at your home.
We've spent the week in this home for two summers in a row. The house has all the comforts of home that add so much convenience for traveling as a family. The kayaks are an especially nice addition. The multiple decks and screened in porch provide the perfect spaces for spending quality time together (or separate!), with spectacular views and privacy. Yarmouthport is centrally located with easy access to many different Cape beaches and activities. Definitely recommend!
Our entire family had a great 2 week vacation here. The house was wonderful and fully stocked with every amenity a family could need including kayaks and bikes! The linens and towels were soft, fluffy and plentiful. The kitchen had everything including a few waffle makers and a KitchenAid mixer and baking tins which came in handy as we celebrated a 9th birthday during our stay. The house itself was beautiful and very comfortable. We were a full house with multiple generations and it never felt cramped and was a wonderful layout for entertaining and relaxing. The location was simply perfect! Beautiful beaches close by as well as nice local grocery stores for supplies. We were even within walking distance of the yummy Hallets Ice cream shop and a cute bakery. We will definitely be renting this house in the future!
My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home in one of my favorite parts of the world - the house is a great place for a large family or even several families, but it's also good for just a couple of people - very comfortable, stocked with everything you could possibly need. We were there during October - my favorite time of year on the Cape - and the weather was beautiful (one of those warm spells!) - but I'd love to return in the summer to really take advantage of the home's location near great beaches. We especially love walking the long pier at Grey's Beach. And dining at the Old Yarmouth Inn. Peter was so helpful and gracious, and we were very fortunate to have this time as a family. If you have the opportunity to stay in this home you should...plenty of room to never feel crowded, comfortable beds, a beautiful yard and view of the marsh...definitely a five star rental!
Our family had a wonderful time at this home during our stay. We really enjoyed the mornings on the large outside deck for coffee, breakfast and our evening dinners in the large dinning room. The home was very clean, large enough for our group and well maintained with all the necessities as a home away from home. The kayaks and bikes, for our use, were a bonus. A short walk to water for Kayaking. The location was excellent as the bus station, the boat to Martha's Vineyard, P-Town and the National Sea Shore were all close for day trips. The owner, Peter, was very helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property for your next vacation to the Cape. I will be vacationing here again.
My family has rented this home for the last few years. It is a wonderful place for a social gathering or a quiet place to unwind for two. It is large and extended, so many people seem like so very few. Many things to do nearby.
The screened in porch is awesome and the back deck is quiet and full of nature. A great find!!
