About Peter Adler

Peter was born in England but is a dual UK-US citizen. He enjoys his family and people, sports, languages, and international travel. For work, he teaches international law and international business at University of Massachusetts. Peter's wife Gail also teaches, at Harvard Medical School, but mostly does medical research. We love getting away to the Cape house, and enjoy sailing and kayaking on Cape Cod Bay, bicycling the Rail Trail, and hiking on the beaches and trails.

Why Peter Adler chose Yarmouth Port

Peter's mother designed the house and garden and it gave it a British colonial feel. The location is really unique with an almost 180 degree view of a salt marsh and tidal pond, and only one other house in view during the summer far across the pond.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A gracious, well-appointed family home set in an idyllic "pastoral" landscape. The interior spaces couldn't be better suited for a family get-together: comfortable common areas include the family room, the screened porch with a large dining table and beautiful views and the outdoor deck with comfortable seating and the same breathtaking views. The very private upstairs suite was ideal for our son, his wife and their two young children, with two bedrooms separated by a bathroom. Downstairs, the king bedroom and adjoining study gave us plenty of privacy and the lovely views as well. Our other son and his wife slept in the twin bedded second floor bedroom, very spacious and bright, with plenty of space for their infant. The kitchen is thoughtfully supplied compared to other homes we have rented, making preparation of meals very simple. A spectacular, utterly private town beach is just 2 miles away. The larger beach with a playground is equally close. A five-minute walk brings you to one of the Cape's excellent restaurants for dinner and a great, funky breakfast stop. We love the serenity and beauty of the bay side of Cape Cod. We plan to stay there for the second year in a row. This home is a real find!

Relaxing Cape vacation in a spacious home

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed spending a week-long vacation at this home for the second year in a row. The house is clean and inviting and has all the amenities we needed. The large layout accommodates everyone comfortably, and the location is key for walking to the beach and enjoying the salty air smells of Cape Cod. We spent many evenings relaxing on the back deck, overlooking the marsh and sipping on summertime cocktails. Our daughters loved rinsing off in the outdoor shower and playing backyard games like bocce ball and croquet. We also enjoyed many home cooked meals on the screened in porch when we didn't feel like dining out, and the large dining table doubled as our place for nighttime card and board games We have already reserved our stay for next year and look forward to the memories we will make there. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Large Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on Sunday, August 14 and found the house to be considerably larger than expected accommodating our large family easily. The house was clean, linens and towels provided were ample and we were delighted to find everything ready for our use. On the one issue we had with the BBQ, Peter was prompt to get it repaired. Notes for finding suitable beaches, grocery stores and other essentials were very helpful.

We made use of the outdoor deck and, when necessary, the indoor screened porch for eating.

Thank you, Peter, for our enjoyable time at your home.

Home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We've spent the week in this home for two summers in a row. The house has all the comforts of home that add so much convenience for traveling as a family. The kayaks are an especially nice addition. The multiple decks and screened in porch provide the perfect spaces for spending quality time together (or separate!), with spectacular views and privacy. Yarmouthport is centrally located with easy access to many different Cape beaches and activities. Definitely recommend!

Perfect Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our entire family had a great 2 week vacation here. The house was wonderful and fully stocked with every amenity a family could need including kayaks and bikes! The linens and towels were soft, fluffy and plentiful. The kitchen had everything including a few waffle makers and a KitchenAid mixer and baking tins which came in handy as we celebrated a 9th birthday during our stay. The house itself was beautiful and very comfortable. We were a full house with multiple generations and it never felt cramped and was a wonderful layout for entertaining and relaxing. The location was simply perfect! Beautiful beaches close by as well as nice local grocery stores for supplies. We were even within walking distance of the yummy Hallets Ice cream shop and a cute bakery. We will definitely be renting this house in the future!
