Overview

Barton Hills House Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 1 bath, sleeps 4. Private hot tub! Lovely patio. Great location.

We call this property The Traveler because we realize that folks travel from all over the world to com visit Austin, and we wanted to provide a theme that might just make you feel right at home.

This lovely two bedroom, one bath duplex features a king bed, queen bed, private hot tub, and lots of patio space to enjoy the weather. Zilker Park is just about a mile and a half or so away, and downtown is just 3 miles.

NOTE: This property is next door to two similar units so if you have a larger group we have plenty of room available! Just ask!

Walk to the Barton Creek Greenbelt, there's a neighborhood entrance just around the block!

Getting downtown with Uber or Lyft is the easiest way to do it - since parking is a bummer down there. It's roughly $10-15 fare.

We are located just one block off of South Lamar so there's tons of wonderful restaurants, juice bars, taco houses, bars, book shops, and even a gallery with the largest collection of original Dr Seuss drawings - all within a couple of blocks!

We have wifi and cable.

Parking is all done on the curb right by the front door. It's not a busy street so there's always easy free parking!

The kitchen is fully furnished with everything you'd need to cook up a feast. The stove is electric. We also provide a coffee basket for you with organic Ruta Maya beans, grinder, filters, creamer and sugar.

Why Jay Reynolds chose Austin

We bought this property because we love the neighborhood. We love being close to The Greenbelt, Kerbey Lane Cafe, downtown Austin, and Zilker Park.

What makes this house unique

You can walk around the corner, into a neighborhood Greenbelt entrance and feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere. It's beautiful out there and an amazing way to escape into nature. Also, being so close to downtown, but not IN downtown has it's serious benefits.

This is a Great Place

  • 5 of 5

I'm conflicted. I really enjoyed staying here. Great Location, great floor plan and very convenient. Some fantastic eating and drinking places out your door (Gordough's, Matt's El Ranchero) and the #803 express bus downtown is less than 5 minute walk.

Quiet, peaceful nights, comfortable beds and a starlit hot tub.

The owner is super attentive and responsive. There's even a Giant Jenga game.

This is a great place, can we keep it a secret?

Perfect Weekend Getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place! It was all we expected and then some. Excellent communication on behalf of the property management team. They provided countless ways to contact them (if needed, which we didn't because our stay went smoothly) and some great recommendations on things and places to do and see.

We enjoyed the hot tub. It was the highlight of our stay. Rest and relaxation at the need of a long workweek. If you are reading this, rest assured, you cannot go wrong by booking this place. It is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood? We are looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent property

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have 2 girls attending UT in Austin. We don't like staying in hotels as they don't give us a lot of space to visit with the girls. We have stayed in this property 3 times now and have 2 future reservations made. This quaint little duplex is perfect for short or long stays. I have been able to make a home cooked meal for the girls in the kitchen. Everything you need is there and very clean. Bedding is comfortable and clean. Linens are plentiful and clean.

Amazing spot!

  • 5 of 5

Great apartment and the hot tub enhanced our evenings there quite a bit! It's an easy walk, bike, drive to restaurants bars and shopping plus Barton springs where you can swim and play in the natural Beaty that is Austin. Jay was helpful in making things easy and all the neighbors are super friendly!

Just right

  • 5 of 5

The Traveler was just right for my week in Austin; clean, quiet and in a great neighborhood. The bed was comfortable, all essentials were provided and the kitchen was quite nice. I'm always happy when there is decent cookware and knives. I was in Austin on business and I looked forward to returning each evening. However, for a leisure stay in Austin the location was within walking distance of several fun, Austin restaurants and near both the Greenbelt and a bus line. While I didn't meet my host, I had no problems getting prompt answers to any questions I had. I would definitely stay there again

A good home base in Austin

  • 4 of 5

3 adults + 1 child stayed here for a weekend. We chose this because it was located a block away from the house our friends rented and available for the dates we needed.

The duplex is in a good location, probably about 15 minutes from downtown, and was easy to find. The unit itself is pretty small. Since we didn't spend a lot of time there it didn't bother us, but just want to share that. Based on the photos I thought it would be larger.

Everything was clean on arrival. The kitchen was well stocked and we found everything we needed in terms of wifi and other instructions in the binder - along with local recommendations for restaurants and activities - which was very helpful.

The only issue we encountered was that the top of the hottub was off upon arrival and there were a ton of leaves floating on top. This wasn't a big deal since we didn't want to use it, but if this is a selling point definitely check with them ahead of time to make sure the hot tub will be clean and in working order.

Overall it was a comfortable base for exploring Austin that had everything we needed for a weekend getaway.

Welcome to 78704! This property, which we call The Traveler, is located in the heart of the most famous zip code in Austin. Dozens of fantastic restaurants, bars, parks, trails, ice cream shops, etc are within just a few blocks. Downtown Austin is only about 2.5 miles away.

Just a few blocks down the road you have a neighborhood entrance to The Barton Creek Greenbelt...which is like the central nervous system for exploring Austin. You can hike down to Zilker Park without ever seeing a striped road.
