North Park is the most popular and hippest of San Diego's urban villages because it has a wonderful eclectic mix of great restaurants, cafes, pubs, micro breweries, shops, fitness, galleries, and music venues and also borders Balboa Park. This gorgeous Spanish home, built in 1925, is perfectly located for walking all about North Park. The home is full of California Craftsman Bungalow features such as moldings, cove ceilings, large wood windows and beautiful original maple wood floors. There is a great big, fully fenced yard for playing, grilling, dining and lounging under a wonderful shade tree. Off-street parking for 2-3 cars. Beautiful artwork and comfortable furnishings throughout the home. The space is bright, open and invites a zen-like relaxation. Fully modernized with central AC, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, two full baths.
Three bedrooms offer comfortable sleeping in queen and full size beds. Additional sleeping on the large sectional in the living room or a full size air mattress we can provide enables this home to accommodate 8 without a fuss. We also have Pack 'n Play for families with babies.
You won't want to leave the property, but so much of San Diego is within a walk or short drive from this wonderful central location!
Walk to hip restaurants, cafes, wine bars, brewery, shops and fitness centers in North Park, a lively, fun community. Take a 5 minute walk to Balboa Park's Morley Field -- hiking and running trails, community pool, tennis, golf, athletic complex, picnic areas, bike track, bocci court, tiny tots play area, and more. A bit farther into the park are the zoo and museums -- still walking distance or a short ride. You will be 5-10 minutes from downtown hot spots -- Gaslamp, Seaport Village, Little Italy, Convention Center. Only 10 minutes to Coronado Island, a world class destination with beautiful, expansive white sand beaches. Seaworld is about 15 minutes via nearby highway.
I moved to San Diego when I was 20 years old and in the first months of being here, I called my mother and told her that I would live here for the rest of my life. 30 years later, this seems to be coming true. I love to hike, bike, swim in the ocean, play with my dogs, and enjoy great food and wine.
Gail Feldman purchased this house in 2004
I decided to vacation rental this home because I now live with my spouse in a nearby community. I didn't want to rent it completely, so I thought this would be a good alternative. I love to travel myself and often wish I had a home away from home, just like mine. I thought I would offer it to others.
I moved to North Park in San Diego because of the central location to the urban excitement of San Diego without the congestion of condos and apartments. I wanted to be able to walk and bike to Balboa Park! I wanted to walk around the corner to a coffee shop or a café or the gym and enjoy not driving!
The house was awesome! It is a lovely Spanish style casa in the poppin North Park neighborhood. It is in super close proximity to the zoo, with great places to eat and shop. We loved our time there. The owners were super helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. Most highly reccomended!
We enjoyed our stay at this home. It was accommodating for our group who was comfortable during the stay. The location seemed to be more South Park so both neighborhoods are accessible. Parking was great and the property managers were attentive. We would definitely stay at this location again.
We had a great time. Charming vintage home in a wonderful neighborhood. The backyard is perfect for relaxing and enjoying family time. Walking around the neighbor and seeing all of the unique homes was and added treat. What a fun neighborhood. Thank you for sharing your special home with our family.
We have visited San Diego several times while our youngest son has worked on his masters degree at SDSU. We have rented through VRBO three times. On this occasion, we needed space for the older siblings/significant others so they could join us for the commencement ceremony. We love the North Park area, and purposely sought a house in that neighborhood which could accommodate the whole family. The house is absolutely charming, with three nicely sized bedrooms. We prefer to prepare our own food, rather than go out. The kitchen is well furnished, and we ate all but one meal there. The house is perfectly situated, literally around the corner from the Thorn Street Brewery, and within walking distance of many other of our favorite breweries. Should we need a house of this size again, we would definitely seek to rent this one.
We really enjoyed the stay. The house is beautiful and very close to the park. My parents enjoyed walking around the neighborhood in the early morning. We wish we could stay longer in San Diego. If we come back to San Diego, we will definitely rent the house again. 5 stars!
We stayed at this place for three weeks and instantly it felt like a home away from home. Situated in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to walk to the local shops and bar, it was a great location. The property is clean and spacious and has a wonderful backyard to sit and have a cup of coffee in the morning. Everyone that stayed with me inquired about renting the property in the future for their own visits to San Diego. I also want to say Gail was very helpful during the rental process. Looking forward to coming back to this gem in North Park.
North Park is home to Balboa Park where we find the World Famous San Diego Zoo as well as the Museums and Old Globe Theater, an award winning regional theater.
