Perfect location and apartment

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights. There were 6 of us, 3 couples. The location was great, not far from everything we wanted to do but still far enough away that we didn't feel like we were in the middle of the touristy areas. Trastevere is a beautiful area and all the conveniences we needed were within walking distance. The apartment had everything we needed and was just as it looks in the photos, no surprises! We loved it and would stay here again if we ever are fortunate enough to come back to Rome.

Great location for experiencing Rome

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect for our group of seven. The Trastevere location is excellent for walking access to all the main tourist sites and is, perhaps as important, a great neighborhood for restaurants. Strolling up the cobblestone street to Piazza Santa Maria was something our whole group enjoyed. The area was busy but never felt overcrowded.

We were in Rome in August when the temperatures hit 90 every day. The AC in each individual room was much appreciated. Eleonora (and Orlando) were accommodating and made arrangements for us to drop our bags early morning our first day in. The cooking utensils could use some upgrading but that's about the only slight negative I can think of. The apartment was clean and adequate towels and linens were provided. I would definitely return to Marilyn and recommend it highly.

A segway tour with Rex-Tours (City Tour) was a highlight for the group as well.

Marilyn apartment - Excellent apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying in this apartment for one week with 6 adults and 2 children. It is a wonderful apartment, fully equipped in a great location. There was a small misunderstanding with the need for a crib/bed for the baby which was immediately fixed. The owner/manager went out and bought a new one for our use. The only suggestion I would make is to have 3 sets of keys available, one for each couple. When returning to Rome we will definitely stay in this or another Easydomus apartment.

Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this apartment while visiting our daughter who is studying in Rome this semester. The apartment was beautiful! Orlando was quite gracious in meeting us and orienting us to the apartment and neighborhood. It was centrally located to the tram and the buses but was in walking distance to so many shops and restaurants. We felt like staying in this apartment allowed us to utilize the kitchen facilities for snacks, leftovers or breakfast. The bathrooms were pleasantly modern and the comforts of home made our visit very special as we reunited with our daughter. I will absolutely return to Marilyn again and will recommend it to our friends.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Our party of 5 adults stayed for a week in the Marilyn apartment. It was very clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and convenient for sightseeing and for restaurants. (There are also a couple of decent sized grocery stores within a short walking distance.) The apartment was nicely sized for the 5 of us. The old wooden beams on the ceiling give the apartment character and the apartment building and its situation definitely make you feel you are in Italy - not just another new generic apartment block. The description of the apartment on the website is accurate.

The surrounding area is full of restaurants - plenty of choice within a 5 min walk. We also walked from the apartment to all the major sites in Rome - Colosseum, Pantheon, Vatican City etc. which was a plus for us and made the apartment even more convenient. (Most of the tourist sites were within a 20- 30 minute walk.)

We drove to the apartment and were lucky enough to find a parking spot right in front of the apartment (an advantage of visiting mid December) and were met on our arrival by an employee of the managing agency, who handed over keys and instructed us in the use of heating etc. and provided us with a very useful map of Rome but there was no other information provided (probably because it is a managed property rather than an owner's property).

The kitchen area is very small - we ate out every night - and although the kitchen seemed to be reasonably well equipped, cooking dinner would have required skills in space organization. There is a 4 burner electric cooking top and a small microwave oven but almost no counter space. However, who wants to cook when you have all those restaurants available to you? I would definitely recommend this apartment - we had a wonderful stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Jane, I really appreciate your review! By the way, we OWN and manage not only that apartment, and unfortunately it may sometime happen that Eleonora, who usually takes care about the guests of Marilyn hasn't enough time to assist to every check in, especially when they are all at the same time. I would like to personally apologize, we are a Roman based company and this is our real plus; so I really would like to share our opinion about it, even for the next customers: we are ever here to assist all our guests, even through our concierge ever available, with the professionalism of a company and the friendliness of an owner. We sincerely hope to have you as guest again in one of our apartments to test us once more! antonio.

Amazing stay

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was exactly as described with a great layout that suited our large group of nine people. The property was spotless and well-maintained. The owner met us and provided us with excellent customer service.

Only three of the air conditioning units could be used at once and they had to be turned off if we planned on running the dishwasher or washing machine. There were plenty of towels for everyone. The linens were clean and in excellent condition. Some of the blankets however smelled strongly of perfume. Also, the internet access was spotty, meaning that it was only accessible in certain parts of the apartment and it sometimes kicked us out unexpectedly.

Right outside the door was a great Indian restaurant, a very interesting art gallery and a vintage clothing store. Even better was an organic grocery store directly across the street. There is a liquor store at the street corner as well a fairly comprehensive number of restaurant on vial Trastevere, a few steps away. We ate at different restaurants, including a sushi restaurant that had great food, a bakery that served all manners of baked goods, pizza and drinks, as well as a café that had mojitos for 1 euro!

The area is actually an extremely lively location to stay. It is possible to have speedy access to the unique city activities, attractions and tours. In addition to this, the location is also considered the center of the present day Roman life. The unique narrow streets, and the characteristic architectures, are making this area one of the most attractive of Rome.
