Dear Morris Family,

The house was very nice! Thanks for everything! The kids loved it. The couch was the kids favorite. Nice decorating skills! The bunk-beds were a definite plus. Thanks!

We had a great time staying here. The house was great, environment was great. The beach, clubhouse, and the surrounding area was great with plenty to do. Will definitely think about coming back again sometime. Thanks

Even Better than Expected!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, well-located mountain home! It was clear when we arrived that the home had recently been renovated with materials and furniture that made it cozy, comfortable and pet-friendly. We loved the extra loft space with attached deck, and would have used it more if the weather had been in our favor. The owners were extremely responsive and made us feel welcome and well-accommodated.

Our group—two parents, three grandparents, two small children and a small dog—fit very comfortably in the home, and we easily found everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and there's plenty of room to gather at the large table, in the living room, or on the deck.

I highly rate this home for a vacation, but please be careful to read the rental agreement and other reviews carefully: You are required to take care of some housekeeping items on the morning of checkout (ie, washing and replacing all dishes, washing and folding linens if you don't bring your own, taking the trash a few miles away to the community dumpster). This process takes some time (at least an hour), so you'll need to account for that on your last day.

Renters with very small children should keep in mind that there a few sets of stairs in the this home, so you may want to bring a baby gate for the one flight (the living room) that's not secured with a lock or a door.

Overall, we recommend this home highly!

Quiet and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Mike and Amy's home was the perfect getaway to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday with friends. Their communication was excellent and they made sure we had everything we needed. The area was secluded and tranquil; we took some great hikes and our dog loved it! Thanks for a great trip and we'd love to come back in the future!

Great place for a weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

We booked this home for a weekend getaway to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The house was very well maintained, clean and well stocked with games. The photos and description accurately reflect the property. The surrounding area was very quiet and peaceful and we loved having our morning coffee on the deck. The owners were very responsive and made check-in easy, having our parking permits and wristbands waiting on arrival. The house was about a 20 minute drive from Jim Thorpe and we greatly appreciated being able to bring our dogs along.

A few things to note about the rental:

- The home is in a vacation community. The ‘security’ guards who monitor the grounds seemed a bit over zealous and were rather aggressive with their questioning when we took our trash to the dumpster (despite having our guest pass displayed). This is no reflection on the homeowners but did dampen the mood a bit.

- The home does sleep 10, but it should be noted that the bunk room (which sleeps 6) is probably best suited for children, not adults. As a 6ft tall man, I did not quite fit on the bed lengthwise and the mattresses were about 3 inches in total thickness and not very comfortable. This home comfortably sleeps 4 adults.

- The dish/laundry policy felt a bit restrictive. Guests are subject to hefty fees unless all the dishes and laundry are washed, dried and put away/folded. Prior HomeAway rentals I’ve stayed in only require you to start the dishwasher and laundry prior to checking out. With a 12-noon check out time, we had to get up much earlier than we would prefer while on vacation in order to allot enough time to run the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer entirely through their cycles.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

The house is clean and comfortable. A great location for our friends coming from different states as it is easy to get to from major highways - yet tucked away in a peaceful area. Owner communicated in a timely manner when we were working out details before our arrival.
