This waterfront cottage is only steps from the clean sandy shore of Leavitt Bay on Ossipee Lake. The home has three bedrooms on three separate floors. Two bedrooms have a double (aka 'full') bed and the third bedroom has a double bed & two twin beds. There are three bathrooms but only one has a shower.
Dock space for up to a 24' boat is included on a recently constructed composite dock. There is a sandy swimming beach and room for lounge chairs if you enjoy sunbathing.
On the main floor, there is a fully-equipped kitchen, a living room, a bedroom & 2 of the bathrooms. There is also an incredible 8' x 25' 3-season porch with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. You can enjoy family meals or play cards and games at the dining room table and several additional chairs on the 3-season porch. There is a bedroom on the second floor and another bedroom and bathroom in the finished walkout-to-beach basement. There are usually nice lake breezes in all of the bedrooms but box fans are provided for warmer nights.
This is non-smoking home. We ask that outdoor smokers use provided receptacles for cigarette butts.
Rachel and I are proud owners of two dogs and do not like leaving our pets when we go on vacation. As such, pets are welcome without a separate deposit. Renters are responsible for any damage caused by pets.
My wife (Rachel) and I are lucky to be third-generation owners of this beautiful property.
My Grandfather (Richard) bought the place for his family to enjoy as a successful businessman in 1966. My Father (Ken) was 16-years-old at the time and loved the lake. My Grandmother (Helen) and Aunt (Carol), were fans of Coastal Maine and never had as much interest in the lake lifestyle.
My Father was lucky enough to have sole use of the property throughout his lifetime and was able to share it with two wives and his only son (Kyle - me).
My wife and I became the sole owners when my Father recently passed away. It is our plan to continue to honor the rentals my Father had already booked for the summer of 2015. These are currently listed on the updated calendar.
Kyle purchased this cottage in 1966
My Grandfather decided to buy on Ossipee Lake after my Aunt attended Girl Scout camp at Camp Weetamoe in the 1950's and the family staying at the historic Deer Cove Lodge.
In addition to being located on beautiful Leavitt Bay, it is one of the closest properties to the actual lakeside on all of Ossipee Lake. The sandy shoreline is literally feet from the house.
We have dock space for up to a 24-foot boat. If you don't own a boat and want to rent one, there are two marinas on the lake with rentals as well as several private individuals renting boats on craigslist. If motorboating is not your style, we have two kayaks renters are welcome to use.
Seven of us just spent a the long weekend at this awesome property on Lake Ossipee. The home was exactly as pictured and described; obviously a recipient of owner TLC. We spent a lot of time on the lake front three season porch enjoying the peace and quiet and the spectacular autumn view. The October weather cooperated and allowed us to enjoy a couple of fires, grilling outside, and some time in the sun. My brother actually took a dip in the lake. Our two Boston Terriers were also welcome; most impressive, we were not charged a pet fee. We had given Kyle our assurance that our Bostons were well traveled and well behaved.
We have never stayed in a rental where the owners treated us any better, we were truly personal guests. Both Rachel and Kyle greeted us upon arrival, gave us a thorough tour, answered every question immediately, and did all in their power to insure that our time was perfect. On Sunday, they invited us to spend the afternoon on their pontoon boat and gave us a tour of the entire lake including the three bays. Our dogs were also welcome aboard and Kyle and Rachel made sure they enjoyed the tour and were comfortable and warm.
We would love to return and spend more time. We highly recommend this property to others, especially those with children and dogs.
This lake house has everything! The spot on the lake couldn't be better. We woke each morning to an absolutely beautiful sunrise. The house has all of the amenities we needed and more. Kyle and Rachel were awesome. They made us feel so welcome, along with our yellow lab and our daughter (22) and son (20) and even offered to take us on their pontoon boat. This is the perfect rental if you are looking for beautiful lake front steps from your door and with a porch overlooking the entire lake to enjoy all evening long. The house caters to anyone looking to spend time on the water with everything at your fingertips. Clean, neat house, wifi, Wi, games, fire pit and so much more. We did not want to leave. Can't wait to return!
Kyle, we had a wonderful time at your rental. The location was amazing and we couldn't get the grandkids out of the water. The sandy beach with shallow water and the floats you provide was perfect. Kayaking out to the small island in the middle of the bay, fishing, swimming was a lot of fun. Sitting by the fire pit at night, toasting marshmallows, just relaxing. And that is what you do…relax. The house was clean, it worked well enough for us. Marina is 5 minutes away and were able to rent a boat for a day, which was wonderful. Only thing missing is a washer/dryer. Otherwise great! Looking forward to renting again
I could spend an entire day on the porch, watching the ever-changing light on the bay! Such a perfect spot!
The house is under new ownership, but still in the same family. It was sparkling clean with brand-new bedding and carpets. The layout was a little awkward at times - bedrooms on different floors were challenging with little kids and it was a long trip from the upper floor down to the basement bathroom!
We took many 1/2 day trips up to Conway (45mins) in the morning, and in the afternoon the kids enjoyed the sandy beach while the adults enjoyed exploring the bay by kayak.
We had a wonderful trip. Thank you for sharing your cottage!
Ken and Debbie have worked very hard to make their beautiful lake house very welcoming and relaxing for families. Especially those with children and dogs. They have a pristine spot on the bay with the best sunrise views. We really enjoyed using their two kayaks to go to a small island nearby and they also had some great floats and toys for the kids such that we didn't even need to unpack ours. Ken was even gracious enough to take us on a tour of the lake. The house was very well organized and overall our stay couldn't have been better.
My family and I had the pleasure of renting from Ken and Debbie last week. I can’t say enough about how awesome they were and what an amazing family vacation we had at their lakeside rental. They were amazing hosts, went way above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of and had a great time, and helped our family create memories that will truly last a lifetime.
There was never a dull moment or a lack of things to do- for all ages and interests. We went fishing off the dock, floated in the lake, grilled on the patio, played darts and board games, enjoyed beautiful morning kayaks, made s’mores by the fire, saw bald eagles and shooting stars, and enjoyed an epic rain storm from the screened in porch - to name a few! Ken was gracious enough to take us on tours of the lake on his beautiful pontoon boat, and even made a day out of it at the sandbar, which was without a doubt, the highlight of the trip.
I definitely plan to rent from Ken and Debbie again and would HIGHLY recommend their rental to anyone!
Located in New Hampshire's beautiful Lakes Region, we are close to North Conway for outlet shopping as well as tons of places to go hiking.
