North Coast California House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 13-14)

This home is located about 200 feet to the end of the street where there is a short trail down the bluff to the beach. It is NOT way up on the hill which is a long hard uphill walk and where if the fog rolls in you won't be able to see anything, or where the wind can get pretty strong; nor is it on the edge of a scary bluff. Feel secure that your kids are safe as those cliffs at Dillon Beach can be pretty dangerous. This home is a very easy short level walk to the beach.

It has a beautiful unobstructed ocean view. You can see clear to the Bodega Headlands from the dining table. The Dillon Beach sunsets from the dining room window or the decks are incredible. A large front deck on the lower level offers a great place for the entire family to sit and view the ocean together. Pull up a chair, kick your feet up on the wall and take in the view. You're almost guaranteed to see a whale, sea lion, otter, or some sea life here at Dillon Beach. Up stairs is a deck looking over the ocean, the perfect early morning coffee spot.

The backyard is one of only a few homes in Dillon Beach with a fenced private yard. It includes a spa, BBQ, heater, and fire pit with 6 to 8 chairs that can sit around the fire so everyone can enjoy the local fresh local Dillon Beach BBQ'd oysters together. After a day on the beach there is nothing like a good hot tub soak in our spa with a lounge seat and tons of jets. Seats 6 comfortably or 8 if you really like each other. The backyard has a large deck and brick patio. The garden is really cute with old barn wood fencing and sea side relics all around. Has the feel of old Dillon Beach.

The house was remodeled last year. Granite counter tops throughout, stone floors and showers/bath enclosure. All first class. New hard wood pergo floors, all new stainless steel appliances, and a TV in each room. The entire house has been updated with lots of stone, new cabinets, fixtures, walls, windows, paint flooring, etc. No 1970's decor here. It's all brand new from the floor to the ceiling. There's a Plasma in the downstairs master BR and a 42' Plasma in the living area. Large open living area open to the kitchen and dining. Sit next to the cozy fireplace that turns on at a push of the remote, or watch a movie on the big screen HD plasma TV. The whole group can hang out together in the living area downstairs, or send the kids, or adults, upstairs to the game room where there's a 32'TV DVD & VCR player, Game Cube, Foosball Table, Poker table, and closet full of games.

This home was oringinally owned by the Keegan family that developed the Oceana Marin subdivision in Dillon Beach. As the original developer, he had first pick of all of the lots in this part of Dillon Beach. This was the location he picked which is why we call it the # 1 location in Dillon Beach. The home has several very old large cypress trees all around it that envelope the backyard. There is just no better atmosphere for relaxation.

The perfect place for a family reunion or annual get together. You'll love Dillon Beach, not only for it's own amenities, but for it's central location to dozens of awesome places to go. Bodega, Marshall, Occidental, Sebastpol, Jenner, Point Reyes, Tomales Bay, Marin, Sonoma, etc. The beach is called 'Safe Beach' by the locals. The beach at Dillon Beach in front of this home is about 3 miles of sand all the way South to the mouth of the Tomales Bay. North up the beach is tide pools and rocky cliffs. Go surf fishing, beach combing, boogie boarding, surfing, or rent a boat at Lawsons Landing in Dillon Beach and go crabing or clamming. They actually catch dozens of 20lb. plus halibut in the bay every year. Explore Pt. Reyes, and stop and get fresh Oysters from the world famous oyster farmers in Marshall known as Hog Island Oyster Co. or Tomales Bay Oysters. Nick's Cove, just a 5 minute drive from Dillon Beach is open and has been featured on Travel Network TV and in Sunset Magazine. The Dillon Beach general store is walking distance as is the Dillon Beach Cafe open for breakfast lunch and dinner.

I visited Dillon Beach 18 years ago. I didn't even know it existed. I fell in love with it and hope to retire here soon and become a Dillon Beach Local.

About Brad and Beverlee Burris

My wife and I both grew up and still live in Sacramento with two of our sons. She was from Elk Grove and I was from Carmichael. Now we live in Granite bay. Three sons. Our oldest son is in the Coast Guard stationed in Virginia on a Cutter. The others live in Sacramento. I own a magazine that is distributed in Sacramento & Placer Counties called Home Improvement & Remodeling Magazine. It has been in business now for 12 years. Prior to that I was a commercial developer with Lukenbill Enterprises, acting CFO, which was the managing general partner of the Sacramento Kings from 1984 to 1996 while I was there. I have bought and fixed up homes all of my life. This one was quite a challenge and turned out awesome. One of my prouder achievements.

Brad and Beverlee Burris purchased this house in 2006

Why Brad and Beverlee Burris chose North Coast California

My wife introduced me to Dillon Beach about 22 years ago. We started camping here about 4 or 5 times a year since then. We love this place. There is literally nothing like it anywhere. It is virtually the same as it was 100 years ago. The beach is as nice as any beach I've been on. The sea life is abundant. Deer roam throughout the neighborhood unafraid. We just decided we had to have a home here. My oldest son is in the Coast Guard and was stationed here for about a year and a half which was very convenient. He grew up spending vacation time here and just couldn't leave. My other two boys also love this area. They look forward to every trip we make here. And our two miniature Austrailian Shepards love the dog friendly beach. Not many of those left in California. It is the perfect family vacation spot.

What makes this house unique

Our home was built in 1968 by the original developer of Oceana Marin. The Keegan's chose this location to build their home over all of the possible locations in Dillon Beach. It has a beautiful unobstructed view of the ocean. It is down low so it is a short easy walk to the beach and below the fog when it rolls in, yet it isn't on the edge of the bluffs leaving one to worry about erosion or children's safety. It has a private fenced backyard with a spa, fire pit, BBQ redwood deck, and a garden. It is surrounded by cypress trees that umbrella the backyard creating a truly unique ambience. The home was completely remodeled when we bought it. Literally rebuilt from the ground up and the studs out. All first class amenities from granite counters, hard wood floors, new appliances, new Plasma TVs and big screen TVs throughout and even a foosball table. Sit at the dining table and gaze out of the two giant bay windows that look out on to the ocean and the Bodega Headlands. There is truly no better way to relax, unwind, and enjoy the ones you're with than spending a week, or even a weekend here.

My Mental Retreat

  • 5 of 5

If you like to walk out the front door and be so close to the beach that you only have to walk past three houses before you get sand in your toes, then you will appreciate this beautiful home. If you like to:

drink your morning coffee while watching the ocean from your kitchen table

take long walks first thing in the morning to wear out the kids and the dog or enjoy the scenery alone

sit on the beach all day while the dogs and kids play or just soak up the sun & waves all to yourself

sit with your feet up while watching the sun go down over the water

BBQ dinner and cook in a beautiful kitchen where all you need to bring is food for the meal

spend the evening playing cards or games at the table large enough for your whole family or all your friends

or just sit and hang out for a quiet night in to watching a good movie or just the flickering of the fireplace

Then this ocean retreat is the perfect, cozy, home away from home. These are just a few of the things I have experienced during my stays.

Thank you for opening your home for others to share and enjoy. I know I always do.

Perfect for the family

  • 5 of 5

My sister's family and mine brought our parents to celebrate Dad's 75th year. Eleven slept quite comfortably and Dad was very happy to be able to bring his dog. We had a great time and the kids enjoyed the toys in the game closet and DVD players and satellite TV. If you have little ones, bring a step stool for the bathroom as the counters were high enough that even 48" needed a boost for teeth brushing and the little ones could not reach the pulls for the tap. The walk to the beach was not too bad for the young and old. We had a great time!

Perfect for my Professional Staff Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Brad and Beverlee really made the process of acquiring their home as a professional retreat site very easy. They were patient, but most of all very helpful throughout the process. They were swift to communicate and provided all the necessary information on time. The actual location was peaceful, close to the beach and provided the perfect atmosphere for work and team building. The proximity to the beach, made for great activities, the hills and calm pathways made for good early morning runs and the cozy house made good late night conversations. The kitchen made it easy to cook group meals and we could not have been happier.

5 star stay for my 30th!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Dillion Beach "Sea Castle" for my 30th birthday over Presidents weekend in February and had an amazing time!

The house is gorgeous, you can see the ocean from almost every room and you are a 2 minute walk to the beach.

We had friends coming in from Napa and SF and not only was the location super convenient, it was perfect for entertaining, cooking and leisurely walking to the water, which is exactly what we wanted!

We found ourselves cuddled up on the bench seats in the kitchen at one point and all commented on how well designed, comfortable and inviting the house was! We all wanted to move in/stay forever!

I highly recommend this property whether you are a family of 4 or a group of 10. It's a beautiful home, the beds were comfortable, the styling is done right and it definitely didn't disappoint!

We will be back and have already recommended it to several friends!

Thanks for having us!

The Perfect Spot for my 50th Birthday Celebration!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first experience renting someone's home and it was terrific! I rented it for two weekends in a row -- one to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriends and one to celebrate with my immediate family. In both cases, we had seven people and the home was perfectly comfortable - with plenty of space and everyone having their own beds.

The house has all the needed amenities and the kitchen is very well stocked for all sorts of cooking needs. We did have a problem with a non-working oven, but the owners responded quickly and had it fixed by the time I came up the second weekend. We all loved the neighborhood, the proximity to the beach and the abundance of wildlife (resident mama deer with her two babies). Some of my guests enjoy geo-caching and found plenty of unique geo-caches within just a couple miles -- some within walking distance.

The first weekend we had nothing but fog -- but that didn't stop anyone from enjoying the home or the surroundings. The second weekend we had nothing but sun and couldn't get over the spectacular sunsets. Everyone -- both weekends -- remarked about how comfortable their beds were. Some even said they slept better here than at home (and several peeked at the mattresses to see what brand they were.) My girlfriends decided upon leaving that we should rent the house for everyone's birthday! And when my family came up, my niece was in tears when we had to leave. I would say that made it a successful vacation!

I would definitely recommend this property to long as I get first dibs on dates! ;-)

Great Week

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at the house. Everything was as described. We were able to get AT&T service at the end of the street. The view from the front deck is very nice and the quiet neighborhood was very nice as well.

We went to Dinner at Nicks Cove and had a wonderful night. The beach is also very beautiful and the walk is not bad at all.
