About Bill McGrath

I am one of twelve children. I grew up in Meriden, CT and used to come to Forest Lake every Summer, since 1950. I graduated from the University of Hartford in Hartford, CT in 1979 with BS in Business Administration and graduated with MBA in Management in 1986. I spent most of my career as Material Manager for a small company in Bloomfield, CT. My wife and I are currently retired. I am currently on the Zoning Board of Adjustment and was on the School Board and Board of Selectmen. We do have a dog on the premises. Lady Cassie is very friendly.

Bill McGrath purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Bill McGrath chose Winchester

I spent every Summer here, since 1950. I really loved the area and the people. My dream was to retire here. We purchased this property in 1992 and in 2005 we built our retirement home on Forest Lake. It's like being on vacation year round. We hate to leave to go anywhere else.

What makes this apartment unique

We love the lake, the woods, and the mountains. We like the rural character of the area. It's so peaceful and serene. It's like being on vacation year round. We like to travel, but we enjoy the area so much we don't like to leave.

Stunning lakeside apartment.

  • 5 of 5

Both my husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at this Lakeside apartment. Looking out from the apartment to the scenic views of a beautiful lake just add to the beauty of this apartment. The apartment has everything one needs and more! Comfortable, clean, modern and definitely home away from home. Looking forward to a return visit in the Fall. Bill and Sandra you have a beautiful home thank you for sharing it with us.

Amazing!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Bill and Sandie for sharing your home with us. I took my wife and 91 year old mother for a weekend, and could not have gotten a better place. We were so impressed with what Bill has done building this home away from home, and also impressed with Sandie's decoration. It was ideal for my wife to unwind and enjoy the view, and my mother named it little paradise. and it was just so. I would recommend this home to anyone that is looking for a place to relax and enjoy. The kitchen, bedrooms livingroom and bathroom could not have been better, thank you again and I (we) do hope to return

God bless you Sam

This is our second year renting this vacation apt. It was just as we left it last year, beautifully furnished and cared for. Bill and Sandie are great host.

Beyond my expectations

  • 5 of 5

I had the good fortune of staying at this property for an extended term for an assignment with work during the last four months. I couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Your hosts Bill and Sandie have truly thought of everything. The apartment is nicely appointed to meet your every need. The location is truly beautiful. I stayed here during one of the worst New England winters and never wanted for anything. Bill and Sandie are great hosts and you can't find any more honest and descent people. I came here from Texas for work and I hope to return in the future for pleasure. Your going to love your stay, I definitely did.

Owner's Response: Bart, Thank you for the wonderful review. Sandie and I really enjoyed hosting you and it was great meeting your wife and two sons when they joined you for two weeks. The boys really enjoyed making the snowman and snow lady and sliding down the hill in the snow. I guess they don't get to do that much in Texas. We do hope to see you again someday and we are glad you arrived back home safely. Bill & Sandie

Our stay was awesome! Beautiful & peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

Our daughter, Molly, is disabled and the open floor plan design of the home provided great wheelchair accessibility. The kitchen and bathroom were both very well equipped and organized. We were able to enjoy fishing and swimming in the lake, including being able to wheel our daughter right to the water's edge and take her in for a swim.

Bill and Sandy were great hosts and showed a lot of concern and compassion for our daughter's needs. We were pleased with everything during our stay and definitely will plan a return visit.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Every year we travel our family and boat to New Hampshire for vacation. We have found places we like and lakes we like but never both together. The lake is the perfect size for water skiing/sports. Virtually all day the water is super calm. Bill and Sandy are very generous hosts and provided everything we could have possibly needed. The general area is very nice and peaceful. The lake is very private and there isn't a lot of tourist traps around. When we did eat out, the prices were very reasonable.

We are a family of 5, with 3 children ages 5, 7 and 12 and spent are days hiking, kayaking, fishing and water skiing. And the nights hanging around the fire pit making s'mores.

We really can't thank Bill and Sandy enough for their hospitality and sharing their beautiful home with us for the week. They are wonderful in every way!!!!!! Hope to see you again soon.
