Bill McGrath purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Bill McGrath chose Winchester
I spent every Summer here, since 1950. I really loved the area and the people. My dream was to retire here. We purchased this property in 1992 and in 2005 we built our retirement home on Forest Lake. It's like being on vacation year round. We hate to leave to go anywhere else.
What makes this Apartment unique
We love the lake, the woods, and the mountains. We like the rural character of the area. It's so peaceful and serene. It's like being on vacation year round. We like to travel, but we enjoy the area so much we don't like to leave.

Would stay again in a heartbeat
The apartment is clean and well put together, and the location is phenomenal. Bill and Sandie are terrific, super helpful and kind.
Thank you for reviewing our place. You and your family seemed to really enjoy your stay here.
The perfect home away from home
My husband and I felt totally at home in this apartment. It was super cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. Bill and Sandie (and their dog Cassie) are wonderful hosts who took the time to chat with us and offer suggestions on places for us to visit or the best places to get something to eat. They even offer use of several kayaks and their row boat which we used every day of our stay. We definitely want to return....thanks for such wonderful accommodations!
We are glad that you really enjoyed your stay at our place. Your husband really enjoyed fishing and you seemed to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the lake, while kayaking and relaxing on the shore. It was like you both had the lake to yourselves.
Awesome relaxing time.
Bill and Sandi were great hosts...definite keeper.
Pretty cottage on a small lake.
We rented the McGrath's place for a family wedding weekend. The wedding was in Keene and the location of this cottage was perfect. The McGrath's live upstairs and were available if we needed anything. Very kind. They even left a newspaper every day. The place is clean, kitchen has every appliance and dish we would ever need and the tv was a treat for the men. The lake was so inviting but unfortunately we were too busy with family gatherings to take advantage of the boat, kayaks, and canoe. We plan to return sometime for a fun get-away. Thank you for a great place to stay.
We enjoyed hosting you and your family.
Thank you for the review. We look forward to you returning to relax and enjoy the lake.
Ideal for out group of four
Very comfortable and had everything we could have wanted. Enjoyed it!
Thank you for the review. We enjoyed hosting you. Hope you have a great trip home.

Much more than expected!!
Exactly what we needed to share time with our "long distant", family. The grandkids, and their mother, totally enjoyed the kayaks and spent most of their stay, in and on, the water. The accommodations are beautiful, clean, and definitely a, home away from home! The hosts, Bill and Sandy, are fun to be with and quite knowledgeable about all the points of interest, and local attractions. Couldn't find a nicer place, and way, to enjoy a family vacation!
Lake front getaway located on Forest Lake in Winchester, NH. Fabulous fall foliage. Twenty four miles to Mount Monadnock, which is 3,125 foot elevation and is one of the most frequently climbed mountains in the world. Shopping & entertainment in Keene, NH. Eight golf courses are in the region. Create your own vacation memories with family and friends. If you're lucky, you might see a Bald Eagle cruising the lake looking for a fish to pluck.
