Beautiful A-Frame by the Lake
Three fun facts about Marcus & Joy (Above the Pines Hosts'): 1. We LOVE buying distressed cabins and remodeling, decorating, and furnishing them for our Guests to make lifetime memories in. Rock back splashes, exposed beams, knotted ceilings, cabin-ey flooring, decks with a view and entertainment space, flannel sheets, Bear/Deer/Lake Decor, and all things cabin. We do not shortcut the aesthetics to make a few extra bucks because we genuinely care about our guests experience as evidenced by our reviews. 2. We have (3) Children and enjoy watching them compete in sports. Baseball, Soccer, Gymnastics, Basketball, Wrestling, you name it we've tried it. The only downside is it limits our ability to retreat to the Mountains. 3. Our Perfect day at Pine Mountain Lake starts with coffee on the deck at Sunrise and an adult beverage while Star watching to end the day. Preferably with Friends and Family.

Brilliant stay in a well-equipped home!
We loved our stay in Marcus's home. The house itself was well equipped and had a lot kitchen utensils which made cooking really easy - even though we were doing ambitious meals for 13. The property was spacious yet cosy, and brilliantly situated to explore Yosemite National Park close by.
I liked it, just didn't love it. Based on the reviews, I was somewhat surprised on the cleanliness of the cabin. My mom had to rewash her sheets, the patio looked like it hadn't been touched in weeks, there was dust along the bed frames, I found random bunched up towels in a few places, papers left from what I assume were previous tenants and towels in the dryer - all of which gave me the impression that the place wasn't diligently cleaned. I find that it would work well for two or three families, but I suspect that 11 adults wouldn't fit comfortably. There is also a rule about all garbage filling in one extra large bag that they provided. Wasn't horrible but i could see how that could be a problem with a longer stay or with a large group, if it didn't fit, then you needed to take it with you. Otherwise, the place was nice. We saw deer all over to the place. Marcus had excellent communication. We were in the area when they closed the Yosemite Valley and he took it upon himself to send me info on the eastern end of Yosemite, which was appreciated. There's a very nice lake in the area which we enjoyed. The house is about 25 min from Yosemite's entrance and about 1hr from Yosemite Valley. We had no issues entering the community or finding the house. It was an overall pleasant stay.
Good spot for family fun
We stayed at "Above the Pines#3" with our daughter, son-in-law and their two young children. The space worked out well, with older adults upstairs and the others downstairs. We really appreciated the Pack&Play crib, and the baby booster seat was perfect for the 7 month old to use at the table. The lake is perfect for youngsters. The kitchen was small, but well equipped, with a nice refrigerator (and ice dispenser). We used the gas grill every night. It was clean and had plenty of propane. Marcus was very helpful - and communicated well. Beds were comfortable and having the air conditioner kept us cool during the hot days.
