Hurricane Update: Because of the extensive renovations that the condo buildings at Sapphire Beach have undergone this past few years, our A-104 unit survived the Hurricanes Irma and Maria untouched. We lived on St. Thomas for 15 years and have gone through the hurricane recovery process before.

The island will recover better than ever but for now the roads are a little rougher and some tourist attractions are closed. But the beaches are still lovely and the balmy breezes feel wonderful. If you want a reasonably priced Caribbean vacation, now is the time to book.!

Why You Should Choose This Condo

A-104 location is conveniently located to access the beach swimming area. Step directly onto the coral sand. Swim in the turquoise waters of Sapphire Beach.

The beachfront sliding glass doors lead to a private patio perfect for morning coffee or sunset cocktails. The combined living area Kitchen has a queen sleeper sofa, a wall mounted TV,. and an indoor dining table with seating for four.

Mahogany louvered sliders allow for a private bedroom which features an extra long king bed and a second TV. Our great Bathroom offers a large glass door shower and double sinks.

A fully equipped kitchen includes refrigerator, convection microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, George Foreman grill and all basic cookware needed to prepare your vacation meals and drinks.

Please note that Sapphire Beach is the only resort on St. Thomas with a Marina making it easy to reserve daysails, fishing charters, or power boat rentals.

We provide to our guests snorkeling gear, beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, beach toys, and complimentary chaise lounge rentals, within easy reach of the Watersports Center.

This resort is an easy drive or taxi ride to Red Hook area (five minutes) which offers shopping, grocery stores, deli, pharmacy, and some of the best restaurants and nightlife on the island.

Ferry Terminal: You can also catch one of the ferryboats to St. John and the BVI in Red Hook for a wonderful day trip .

About Juliet Smith

We are the original Owners of this condo. The condo underwent a full renovation in 2016, including kitchen and bathroom.

We love to visit other islands. The photo above is taken on the island of Virgin Gorda at a location called " The Baths". Fun to walk among the big boulders. The eighth wonder of the world.

St. John hiking trails is also a must to do.

Hurricane Irma had other plans...

We have been to Sapphire Beach many times but had never stayed at this facility. We were very excited to find availability and arranged for a 10 day stay. Then Hurricane Irma showed up on the radar. All flights were cancelled and so was our last-minute vacation. I am writing to say that the Owner was absolutely fabulous to work with. Although the hurricane would impact her MUCH more significantly than it would our little vacation, she stayed in touch with us and was incredibly generous in working things out. Although I can't really comment on the condo - I can tell you that we LOVE working with Juliet! We have been told that the condo wasn't damaged and plan to go as soon as our schedule allows. I look forward to reporting on how great the condo is!

Great location, beautiful beach

Great location, cabs are always waiting to take you anywhere. it's a quick ride to Red Hook or take the local safari cab but you will have to walk up a pretty good hill. Beach is good, snorkeling good and good drink service from the bar (they will even meet you partially into the sea and deliver) Snorkel gear, rafts, kayaks, etc. all available for rent from the hut on the beach. Our unit, building A, was in a convenient spot with a great view Only caution is The complex is a little tired, so don't expect super luxury and the pool bar was closed but you're on a gorgeous island so it doesn't matter! Horseback riding with Jerry was fun. Molly Malones has great breakfast.

Me and my two girlfriends booked this condo for a 4 night stay in St Thomas as a bachelorette trip and we could not be more happy with our experience! Juliet was amazing in getting us good info on where to eat and she was always so easy to get in touch with! The condo we were on was right on the beach so we could easily walk to the waterfront and it was steps away from the resort's beach bar, which was delicious! Thank you so much, Juilet! We will be definitely staying there again!

Saphire Beach and Marina

Their grounds are "tired" but our condo was very nice and right on the water. Stayed two years in a row so you know there was a good reason to go back. As long as your realize that it is not a resort but a condo complex, you will find the area absolutely beautiful.

Need to get their act together

Had a wonderful vacation; Sapphire Beach is great but his condo was disappointing.

They advertise a “provisioning service”. Wow, how nice. We e-mailed a list a week in advance. The manager acknowledged receipt and thanked us for not doing it last minute. When we arrived, nothing was there.

Food from previous tenants was left in the unit when we arrived; we had to clean out the cabinets and refrigerator of already open (for who knows how long) cereal boxes, mayonnaise jars, etc. The unit was not very clean when we arrived. Floor was dirty, louvered doors had accumulated dust.

The electric outlet in the bathroom did not work. When we called, the manager told us it had not worked for 3 years (as if somehow that made it OK!?). I assumed that this meant it was some kind of major project. In fact, they finally sent an electrician to fix it and it took him less than 15 minutes. While I appreciated that we could finally use it, I was even angrier that it was so easy to take care of and they simply did not bother.

The kitchen cabinets are relatively new and just fine. But, they did not bother to hook up the under counter lights – they are there, just not connected. The shower had some kind of control to regulate the temperature, presumably for safety. But the result was that we could not take a hot shower. The room divider between the bedroom and the living area does not work; the tracks are rusted out. The safe does not work. After calling we were instructed how to use the key. Why not fix it? One of the dresser drawers had no handle so could not be used. The Wi-Fi in the unit was worse than useless. The information sent to us with username and password was incorrect. It was different on two documents sent to us and both were wrong. We finally discovered the correct password written on the router but what a frustrating waste of time because of their sloppiness. In any event, even after we could connect, the Wi-Fi was pretty useless.

The information materials in the unit are out of date. No clear instructions about TV channels. Nobody seems to clear out stuff left by previous renters.

At the end, all of these things are relatively minor inconveniences, not enough to ruin a truly great vacation, 80 and sunshine every day, sitting on the patio with nothing but sand and the sea in front of you, swimming, snorkeling, SCUBA, sailing. We will return to Sapphire but not to this unit.

Owner's Response: We are truly sorry this guests had a bad experience. We are always ready to respond to any complaints a guest has. We always tell them, after checking in, to notify us right away if anything was not as expected. This guest notified me right away about his having a problem with the outlet not working. We went out the next day, and purchased a nightlight for him to use in the evening in that area. To make him more comfortable about getting up in the night in an unfamiliar place. We do try to be responsive to any particular issue. The outlet in the bathroom has been repaired, but it took 3 different maintenance men to complete this repair. Yes, the last one did fix the issue quite quickly. The safe has instructions on it, but people find it difficult to understand. The safe is not broken and we do have a pass key which works perfectly fine. Condiments in the refrigerator. This is the first time anyone has complained about have mustard, mayo, ketchup, salad dressing , etc in the fridge. I do understand some guests are more picky than other. I have instructed my associate to throw away opened food containers each time she cleans between guests , in the future, to avoid this issue. As far as floors not clean, and louvered sliding doors that separate the bedroom from the living room; the owner has a plan to order new tracks, so the doors slide more easily in the near future. Cleaning of the floors and louvers is being addressed.Repairs have to be scheduled in our down time. We appreciate our guests notifying us of any issues they find uncomfortable. The management team
