*** Life’s simple pleasures at Thevine house ! ***
Thevine House is better than advertised! The home is new, well decorated, clean, organized and exceeded our expectations. It is in a beautiful location overlooking Moriah Harbour Cay with wrap around decks on two levels to enjoy the view. The grounds were nicely landscaped and the pool was always kept clean and inviting. The kitchen has high end appliances and every kind of cookware and utensil you could need, along with many spices. We ate most breakfasts and dinners at the house, often utilizing the large Weber grill to cook steaks, burgers, etc. We have two young children and one of our favorite activities was taking the kayaks to Moriah Harbour Cay. The beaches were stunning without another person in sight. At low tide, we encountered all kinds of sea life (sea stars, crabs, etc.). In addition, we saw a sea turtle and two dolphins swimming right in front of the house. It is a short drive to George Town with its restaurants and activities, yet far enough away to feel peaceful and secluded. Desreen (housekeeper/contact person) and Willie (pool maintenance and groundkeeper) were always friendly and helpful if we had any questions or requests. We highly recommend Thevine House for your next vacation and are looking forward to returning in the not too distant future!!
Our week-long stay at The Vine House was absolutely wonderful! This was our second time to Great Exuma but our first time renting a house, and it definitely exceeded all of our expectations.
About The Vine House: We loved that the pictures were true to form as far as the layout and décor of the home. When you walk into the house, you are greeted by breathtaking views! The open living/dining room is awesome for enjoying a nice cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine after dinner in the evening. The kitchen literally had every utensil you could need which made cooking meals so enjoyable.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were also just as pictured and very comfortable for our group! We loved that there were plenty of games down stairs, and the pool table was also a hit. The porches are incredible, and we enjoyed stargazing at night from the top deck.
Our favorite part about The Vine House had to be the outdoor amenities. We rented a boat from Elvis per Nathalie’s suggestion, and it was extremely convenient to be able to leave the boat at our dock for the week. We took the boat out every day for the five days we rented it, and this was our favorite part of the trip! Being able to explore the surrounding area was simply stunning. If you enjoy exploring and traveling to deserted sandbars and islands, we highly recommend the boat rental. Also, after being on the boat all day and finally returning to The Vine House, we loved being able to watch the sunset from the pool. In addition, the kayaks and paddle boards were an awesome treat as well! It was amazing to be able to see all kinds of marine life from turtles, numerous fish, and even giant starfish right out in front of the house.
Lastly, I cannot rave enough about the ease of setting up this trip through the owner, Nathalie. She had packets of information already put together with any and every recommendation in regards to dining, fishing, boating, and even spa info just to name a few. She was very helpful with any questions we had, and she really made the experience of us renting a home for the week so incredibly easy.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at The Vine House and highly recommend you book your trip immediately! Staying here for the week really was Heaven on Earth! Thanks Nathalie, we hope to visit again, soon!

We traveled with another couple. Upon entering this beautiful home we felt we had arrived at our own private resort! It had everything we could have hoped for! The bathrooms are beautiful and spacious and the home is set up so that there is plenty of privacy for everyone! I thought it was very nice that the owner supplies shampoo and body wash; that means I don't have to take up space in my ziplock!! We especially loved the pool and kayaks. We spent every day in the water. We loved exploring Moriah and Man O War cays and the Atlantic side of Moriah is so breathtaking! We rented a boat from Elvis. Derrion took the guys out fishing one day and we grilled up the catch that night! Everyone we dealt with was extremely nice and helpful! We planned to explore more of the island and did go out once or twice but mainly we wanted to be right there at our very own beautiful, private resort! Hope we can return!!! Thank you so much Nathalie for all your help and the excellent correspondence!
This property offers the best of everything for a very relaxing vacation. From the first correspondence with the owners to the follow up during and after our stay, I knew we found a GEM!
The house is extremely well equipment with everything you need during your stay. We cooked in most meals because we need not want to leave our own little paradise.
The house looks lovely in the pictures but is even better upon arrival. I can't wait to go back!!!
If you need a reference I would love to help!
Thank you Miss Nathalie for a lovely time! We flew across the country to Exuma and met my family from Boston. So relaxing, and clean and well appointed we all had a wonderful time. Kids - grown and old alike. Despite the weather (invariably windy and rainy), we had loads to do both indies and out. The kitchens and supplies were abundant, the kayaks and paddles were a breeze! We recommend without reservations, and dealing with Mis Nathalie and her crew was A+++.
Wow! What an amazing week we had in paradise. This was our first time to The Bahamas and we are so please to have stayed at Thevine House in Great Exuma. This beautiful home was exactly as pictured and it was a pleasure communicating with Nathalie prior to our trip. She arranged for Spense to meet us at the Exuma Market when we arrived and escort us to the home. We were happily greeted by Desreen, who gave us a tour of the home and answered any questions we had. Desreen and Willie came to clean the house and outdoor areas mid week. We also chatted on the What's App app with Desreen during our stay and she was always gracious about answering our questions promptly. Thevine House was perfect for our family. The space was ample for the five of us to enjoy our family time together. The well equipped kitchen was easy to prepare meals in. Many upscale products, ample dishes, a full drawer of spices to use. The beds were very comfortable and the large bathrooms were a treat. We enjoyed being outside each day. The infinity pool with floats was one of our favorite areas. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and paddle boards to explore Moriah Cay, just a short 10 minute trip across from the house. We loved our outdoor meals on the decks and the cabana. There is a large collection of books and movies to use while there as well as a nice pool table. The house is supplied with many beach towels, bath towels and extra sheets if needed. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this beautiful home for others to vacation and will definitely be returning there in the near future.
We wanted to write a note for those interested in a stay in Great Exuma at The Vine House. First, to Nathalie -- thank you for sharing your lovely vacation home with us -- it is beautiful and we enjoyed ourselves there tremendously. The kids are already asking if we can come back next year.
This was our first visit to Exuma, though not our first rental via Homeaway. This home is particularly well appointed and located oceanfront in the Hartswell area of Exuma. This is a really lovely area and our overall impression was that all of Exuma has much to offer in terms of natural beauty: beaches, water activities, diving, boating, fishing in all shades of blue.
The Vine House is located directly on a wonderful channel full of marine life such as rays, small sharks, turtles and a broad array of fish – many frequently visible from one of the porches or decks. The deeper part of the channel is easily navigable all the way to Georgetown and beyond for those seeking a boat rental and the many local shoals, flats, beaches, bays, and mangroves offer much for kayakers and paddle-boarders (which are all provided for use). Immediately opposite the property is designated as Moriah Harbour Cay National Park and it’s stunning to explore and almost exclusively yours to discover.
In terms of amenities, indoors The Vine House is completely furnished and spacious, featuring comfortable rooms, bedding, appliances, utensils, games, entertainment such as bluetooth audio player, pool table, and electronics – too much to name really but obviously well thought-out and everything considered. Outdoors, between the dock area, boat slip, pool, bbq grill, beach area, cabana, seating, hammocks, there was no shortage of enjoyable spaces.
Overall, our sense is the home is immaculately well-maintained, clean, and inviting in every respect. Every interaction with staff and the owner was consistently professional, courteous, and timely. Our experience was really exceptional and worthy of recommendation. Best wishes with your holiday planning!
The location of the house is perfect: it’s away from it all, but only a car ride away from Georgetown (9 miles), the capital of the Exumas. Georgetown provides all the services a visitor might need, including restaurants, grocery stores and shops.
Offshore from our home is one of the best area for bonefishing !
