About Theresa Frierson

I have been vacationing in Rockport since I was an infant. Things have changed a lot over the years but it is still the best place on the Texas coast for fishing, bird watching, windsurfing and sailing. The steady breezes and spectacular Copano Bay sunsets are hard to beat. Our property is in great shape with the house having been recently remodeled including replacement and upgrade of all interiors, appliances and amenities. Bedding amenities are of the highest quality and very comfortable.

Theresa Frierson purchased this house in 1959

Why Theresa Frierson chose Texas Gulf Coast

Rockport has that south Texas feel but on the coast with generally dry weather and cool Gulf breezes.

Well maintained property. Small but cozy.

  • 4 of 5

The house needed some repairs but was cozy nonetheless. The fishing wasn't great but still very relaxing. The property was very quiet and private. The only problem we had was that the guest house had bed bugs. We notified the owner and I believe the problem was handled quickly and effectively. Other than that the property was very nice and all that we expected and more. I would definitely stay there again.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for the review. You had emailed me during your stay and said "the house is amazing". Your review indicates some issues. Please note for future visits that we have a full time care taker for the property and he can immediately fix anything that needs attention during your stay. We hope that you will return.

My family and I had a wonderful time at your lovely home. The house, grounds and fishing were excellent. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to gather and be together as a family.

I noticed another house that appears to be on the property and wondered if that too belongs to you, and if so, can it also be rented. The reason for my request is that we would like to rent the property again in the future, and would plan on bringing more family if the second home could be rented along with the home I rented this time.

Again, thank you for the opportunity to stay on your property.

Regards,

Rebecca M. Castilla

Owner's Response: Rebecca, thanks for your nice review. Yes, there is another house on the property that is saved for the owners of the property to stay in and it is not rented out to the public. There is a third house on the 7 acres that we are in the process of restoring but not sure when it will be completed. It would be a good house for overflow of guests for the main house. Hopefully we can add it to the website in the future. Thanks

Great 4 days of fun with friends and families!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed three nights with two other young families and we had a blast! The place is clean and spacious for thirteen of us. The property is well equipped with everything we need and surrounded with lots of plants and trees(we loved the outdoor). The pier is great for night fishing; probably need a small light beside the fishing light so we can see better. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our three nights. I definitely recommend this place to friends and families as the perfect place for a relaxation. Thank you for such a wonderful place!

Sincerely,

Charlie

Owner's Response: Charlie, Thanks for the great review and yes, we should add another light on the pier deck side for the fisherman to use. Since your last visit, the entire pier has been rebuilt and extended to the top of the bluff near the fishstand/patio area. We still have fishing lights at the Pavilion, midway out and at the very end of the pier. Fishing has been fantastic this fall. Thanks for choosing our property.

A Wonderful, Relaxing Get-Away!!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days at the Frierson's bay home this summer, and couldn't have had a better experience! The place had everything we needed and more! The home is very comfortable, with plenty of space for our family. It is an older property, but very well kept with all of the amenities you could ask for! The property is waterfront, yet very secluded from the neighbors by the lush vegetation, providing a much-appreciated sense of privacy. We loved spending mornings paddling around the bay in the kayaks (provided) and enjoyed fishing on the pier by night. The Frierson family made everything very easy on us -- we can't recommend this place enough!

Owner's Response: Darla Thanks for the review and for describing so clearly the beauty of our property. We have spent a lot of time and money creating a nice lush landscape, including the orange, tangerine and lime trees. We hope you will return again next year. Thanks

Very private, perfect fishing or relaxing vacation

  • 5 of 5

This is our 3rd or 4th annual vacation at this great place. Very private...so many acres surrounding you and few people are ever seen on the other piers or in the water. The house, although old is perfect for big gatherings. The garage is is own little apartment (no kitchen) and each bedroom has lots of comfy beds. The piers are maintained and the location could not be better. If you wade-fish, you don't even need a boat as you can walk out to the fish-attracting reef right in front of the property. We have our 10 days reserved for next year...as always.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your nice review and for the details on the wade fishing in front of the house. Very few properties have this amenity. We hope that you will return next year. Thanks

Owner's Response: Glad to have you all back again this year. Sorry you all had so much rain but the thunderstorms and rain are beautiful to watch out on the bay and sometimes it improves the fishing.
