About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6, Dining Room, Beautiful Open Air Terrace

Kinloch Lodge is a natural haven located in the 'Meseta de los Pueblos', a cool and breezy plateau just 45 minutes south of Managua. The cabin stands on a hilltop within a small, family owned 10-hectare farm, surrounded by majestic trees and lush tropical vegetation - the perfect getaway for people who love nature. Enjoy bird-watching, walking or mountain biking along pleasant and colorful nature trails adorned by our local tropical greenery and coffee, bamboo, cacao, plantain, tangerine and orange groves.

Our lovely wood cabin has three comfy bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining room, as well as an open air terrace with barbecue facilities and a children's playground. Linen and towels included.

We welcome long-time renters and offer special rental rates depending on the days you stay: Nightly: $100; Weekly: $560; Two-weeks stay: $800; Monthly: $1,000.

Kinloch Lodge's strategic location, halfway between San Marcos and Jinotepe, allows you to enjoy a diversity of day-trips, less than an hour's drive from the cabin.

Favorite day-tours:

* Visit the nearby 'pueblos' of rich Chorotega cultural heritage, famous for their folklore, crafts and religious festivals.

* Drive up to the edge of the smoking cone of Santiago Volcano, one of only four on earth that maintain a constant pool of lava in its open crater.

* Swim in the clear and fresh waters of a spectacular lagoon inside the crater of the extinct Apoyo Volcano.

* Hike through the cloud forest of Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve and canopy your way down.

* Walk the streets of Granada - a charming colonial city founded in 1524. Take a boat ride or kayak around the 354 islands that form the Archipelago Las Isletas, and admire its rich birdlife.

* Enjoy a good swim and eat fresh fish in the nearby beaches of Casares and La Boquita.

Amazing very private and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Amazing trip the house was beautiful. The cool breeze at night felt wonderful after spending the days in the heat. The peace and quiet was just what we wanted and very private location. Waking up to the sounds of birds and coffee on the screened veranda. Location was perfect catch the van/bus at the end of the lane 10 minute ride to town Jinotepe the bigger city or San Marcos the smaller town then from there you can explore many other small towns another short bus ride. No need for a car really bus is so cheap and quite an experience. Thank You France's for perfect accommodations we would definetly like to go back maybe we will see you next year this time for a month.

Rustic elegance in private setting.

  • 5 of 5

Gracious hosts, secure environment, perfect temperatures, close to many area experiences. A great base from which to explore many natural environments within an hour's drive. Close to groceries...3.5 k. Airport - an hour and a bit. Spent 3 pleasant weeks very much at home.

The owner description says it all.

  • 5 of 5

The owners description says it better than any thing I could write. It's a log cabin carved out of the woods, very private and very homey. Everything you need is there. Kitchen is complete. The bedrooms are roomy. The master bedroom is the showroom for the home. It is very roomy. The bed is comfortable, which sometimes is hard to find in some countries. When I asked about air conditioning the owner said it wasn't needed, I was a little skeptical with that statement but she was right again. 10 minutes after opening the windows the breeze blowing through the house cooled the home as if there was air conditioning. If you like quiet this is the place to rent. If you like nature this is the place to rent. If you stay you definitely need a car. The ownership were personable and available. I think the best thing I can tell perspective renters is to ask the question. They will give honest answers to you questions.

Paradise in carazo

  • 5 of 5

My wife and our niece stayed there for 2 nights and really didn't want to leave. The farm is beautiful and the house was super comfortable. Our hosts were amazing and treated us like visiting family. We can't wait to go back and stay longer.

The Best!

  • 5 of 5

This was an amazing get away nestled in a shade-grown coffee farm, with lush vegetation, and natural beauty surrounding the lovely cabin with plush master bedroom. The location was convenient for sight seeing and local travel.

Our hosts, Danilo and Frances, were the best ever. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful and restive

  • 5 of 5

Staying at the Kinlock Lodge was superb! You can hear the birds in the morning, drink your early morning coffee while enjoying the magnificent beauty of the tropical lush that surrounds you. Be prepared to feel totally relaxed..... you will never want to leave! At night the evening breeze that later turns into sufficient wind make the micro-climate a comfortable temperature. You might even want to use a light blanket to get cozy.

Be sure to bring a good book for your leisure time, the owners will be more than happy to suggest places to visit and the small towns of Jinotepe and San Marcos are only 5 minutes away. Great towns to do "local watching" and to stack up on your market goods and watch how vendors sell their products at the open market place.

I am sure you will have a great time!!
