|Minimum Stay||4 - 7 nights|
Welcome to our gorgeous Hawaiian family home. Experience a unique and amazingly tranquil two story townhouse with phenomenal views of the Kona Coast. We have the most premier location available on the northern edge of our freshly painted, beautifully landscaped, gated 4 star resort, Na Hale O Keauhou. Absolutely Kona's best and newest town home community.
Our backyard looks over a permanent nature preserve with no other units in sight. No other hale in the resort has the amazing views that we have from our 2 spacious lanais. We just installed outdoor ceiling fans to both of our lanais for extra cooling on those warm and calm days and nights.
Keauhou is famous for warm sunny days and flat, royal blue water. We thrive on the most consistently perfect weather on the Big Island!
Feel at home in our immaculate, nine year old hale with over 1700 sq ft of luxurious living space plus an attached, single car garage. It sits 40 feet above the sea and 1000 feet from water's edge. Listen to the high surf and watch the waves hit the shore. Enjoy unobstructed views of pure Hawaiian Mother Nature from either of our 20' wide lanais looking north and west from the deep blue Pacific to the top of the 8700 foot high volcano, Mt .Hualalai. Our backyard nature preserve is covered with native Hawaiian trees with songbirds to awaken you in the morning. Sip your Kona coffee early in the morning on our lanais to watch the sunrise over the quiet volcano. It is a memorable time.
Each room has high quality, extremely comfortable, tropical furniture. Fill our vases with fresh and fragrant, exotic Hawaiian flowers. Open all the windows and doors and feel the warm ocean breezes move through our hale. Make your meals at home with exotic fruit, vegies and fresh Hawaiian fish purchased at our Saturday Farmer's Market just up the street at the Keauhou Shopping Center. You'll feel at home here.
The phenomenal downstairs tiled lanai is the focal point of sunny outdoor living. It has a beautiful, hand carved table made of old teak wood, with matching armchairs for eight adults. Cook a large dinner on our brand new 5 burner propane BBQ as you sip your tropical fruit juices. On our always warm evenings, bring the lawn chairs out on the grass and feast your eyes on the orange Kona sun as it sets into the sparkling Pacific.
The downstairs living area includes the living room, family room kitchen and half bath. We just installed beautiful super soft plush carpeting downstairs for your barefoot pleasure.
The family room has a 42' plasma CABLE HDTV/DVD. The super soft sectional couch which will seat 6-8. We call it the "Vortex", as once you are on it, it sucks you into blissful rest and relaxation. Daytime naps are likely and highly recommended. It has a double sleeper mattress and can sleep 1-2 children quite nicely. There are multiple DVDs for kids and families to watch in the evenings, games to play, for kids and adults, many books on Hawaii and unique Hawaiian musical instruments to play.
We just updated our family room with a new DVD system with Bluetooth so you can connect your music files or go to Pandora with the new 6 piece home theater. You can also access Netflix to watch your favorite movies.
Our spacious living room is elegant yet comfortable. It is a great location to look out to the ocean but gather without the TV interfering with conversation. The cinnamon colored sofa will comfortably sleep two children on the queen mattress. With matching chair, leather reclining chair, coffee table and end tables, this cool indoor gathering place will attract you to relax. It faces the family room and kitchen with scenic views out the lanai down to the sea.
The gourmet kitchen is high-end with Italian cabinetry, granite countertops, recessed lighting in the ceiling and under the cabinets. It has stainless steel GE Profile appliances and a huge array of kitchenware, beautiful and brand new dinnerware with matching linens, crystal glassware, martini glasses, Heinkel cutlery, Circulon cookware, a high end juicer to make fresh pineapple juice and a 20 spice rack. There's a cozy breakfast bar with a granite counter and 3 cushioned bar stools facing the kitchen. This place was designed to entertain.
Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom has a 40 inch HDTV, gorgeous furniture with a California king pillow top bed, matching night stands, double dresser, a large walk in closet, and a beautiful old teak desk with a brand new all in one touch screen PC with internet access and printer. No fax. There is wifi access throughout our hale.
The Master Bedroom looks out on the ocean and connects to the upstairs lanai for scenic views. The attached master bathroom is beautiful with a large walk in shower (room for two...), a deep soaking tub , a large granite countertop with two sinks, large mirrors and plush bath linens.
Guests love our quiet 2nd upstairs bedroom. It has a stylish, four-poster, queen sized, pillow top mattress with a bas relief teak headboard, matching end tables and dresser. In the hall is a full bathroom with shower/tub, granite counter and single sink. The upstairs hall has a laundry room with washer/dryer ironing board and fully stocked linen closet with plenty of beach and bath towels and bedding linens.
The 3rd BR is also a guest favorite. It has a super snugly pillowtop queen sized mattress. Look through the sliding glass doors to the upstairs lanai and its amazing scenery. Keep the sliding door open for those fresh Kona breezes.
The covered, upstairs lanai has our best panoramic views. Relax on the padded chaise lounges or sit comfortably at the bistro table to enjoy your Kona coffee. This is our most private and quiet getaway spot. Enjoy the new ceiling fan for extra cooling if needed.
Guests love our private, attached garage. It is loaded with beach chairs, boogie boards, surf board, snorkel gear, ice chests, beach mats, water toys for the kids, 3 sets of golf clubs and a Smokey Joe mini BBQ, only to be used off-site, never at our hale. There is a high chair and a playpen for use as well.
It is a 10 minute walk to the Keauhou Shopping Center, with nine restaurants, KTA grocery store with excellent choices of fresh Hawaiian fish to choose from, post office, walk-in medical clinic, nail salon, beauty salon, shave ice shop, book store, fashion boutiques, Long's Drugs and an 8 screen cinema. It has a wonderful Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning (pick up your fresh fish, mangoes, papayas, bananas, exotic fruits, Kona coffee beans and fresh tropical flowers). On Friday evenings they have a free Polynesian dance performance.
A 3 minute drive will take you to Kahalu'u Beach Park for excellent snorkeling, showers and restrooms. Terrific boogie boarding at Magic Sands and big wave surfing at Banyans are just a little further towards town on Alii Drive.
The upscale Keauhou Sheraton Resort is nearby for that sunset cocktail on water’s edge to watch the manta rays feed. It is five miles and a 15-minute drive to the main town of Kailua-Kona for more shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Keahole-Kona airport (KOA) is 14 miles and 25 minutes to the north. It's 90 miles to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Hilo is less than two hours away via the newly upgraded Saddle Road.
This townhouse is unlike 90% of all the condos on the Kona Coast because of the phenomenal views from the private lanais which look out on acres of nature preserve and the azure blue ocean, not somebody else's rooftop or lanai. Luxurious furnishings in a peaceful setting with privacy and tranquility in a great location. You will not be disappointed with our serene ohana hale.
My wife and I bought this amazing, brand new hale nine years ago as our second home, a place for our family to gather and spend more time together. It has room enough for everyone to have their own space or gather together for meals and conversation.
Warren Brandle purchased this townhome in 2006
We chose our home at Na Hale O Keauhou because it is a gorgeous resort property with gated security, privacy and outstanding maintenance and beautiful tropical landscaping. Everything is modern, safe, quiet, clean and neat. There are very few permanent residents so it never feels crowded.
Most importantly, our hale looks out on a nature preserve from both of our lanais with amazing views from the ocean all the way to the top of Mt. Hualalai. We spend the majority of our time enjoying the privacy and tranquility of our downstairs lanai where we eat all of our meals outdoors. Since it is our second residence, it is fully furnished with all of the amenities of home including all of the necessities for fun on the beaches. Our solar heated pool area is always quiet and the water is warm, very refreshing for a morning swim or a long soaking in the Jacuzzi.
We have been back a month now and we still talk about how that was one of the best places we have been to. It is a great house with plenty of room for 4 adults & 4 kids, plenty of room for all. Everything as described and more. Such great owner to work with, we would certainly return again. Really felt like our own home! Mahalo.
Great place, well laid out. Lanai is awesome, we ate out there every night. Well appointed, plenty of supplies, towels, etc. Very close to a shopping center with a grocery store, pharm, and a few solid restaurants.
This is a large well stocked and comfortable home. Lots of equipment to enjoy the Island! Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some quiet time. The only ding is that the knives need to be sharpened. If we come as a family again, we will definitely stay here. It really is a wonderful place!
The townhome was absolutely perfect for our family of 6. We had 3 couples, myself and my husband, our son and daughter-in-law, and my parents. The townhome is spacious, fully stocked with everything you need, and so conventiently located. The owner was fantastic, his recommendations from things to do and places to eat were perfect. We visited the farmer's market on Wednesday in front of the Sheraton, and found great fresh fruits and vegetables. The grocery store is 5 minutes away. We ate at several restaurants on Alii drive, snorkeled, my husband and son did a diving trip. I really can't say enough how perfect this vacation was, and I highly recommend this property. We hope to visit again, and we would definitely stay here again.
Our family of 5 had a great stay at this property on the Big Island. The condo was spacious, well appointed, comfortable, and offered a great view from the lanai (especially at sunset). It is very close to shopping and some great snorkeling beaches. We also did a day trip to volcanoes national park.
The owner was terrific to work with and provided tons of information about the island. They also had a lot of beach/snorkel gear for guests to use which was a huge convenience. We travel quite extensively and use VRBO for vacation rentals and would highly recommend this property.
My family loved this place!
We are 2 parents, 3y/o daughter and 7month-old daughter, and I have to say that this was the first true vacation we have had in years (a friend told us about the parenting phenomenon of the "trip" which replaces the true vacation, as travelling far with young kids is often not relaxing!) - we have travelled with the kids a lot, but this was different in that we really relaxed! This home is so well set up - it is obvious that the owners really enjoy the space as well and so stock it with all you could ever need - 2 high chairs, toys, crayons for my toddler, etc.! The outdoor grill is top of the line, which made my hubby super happy, and the utensils and spices helped to facilitate some of the best dinners I've had in a long time (we don't go out much with 2 little ones). The proximity of the unit to the shopping center was a HUGE plus - 1 minute drive for groceries, diapers, etc. - and a new Tap Room opened up there that was good food, great view of the sunset, and totally tolerant of my girls in the best way. The pool and work-out area at the complex is among the best I've seen in VRBO rentals (we do this a lot) - view of the ocean while swimming - kiddie pool my toddler could play in on her own, and very few others using the area meant that it felt like our own retreat. The guides and guidebooks at the home were so helpful - prompted some crazy adventures to amazing beaches (definitely get 4-WD in your rental car!). We had many conversations about how we would like to go back. Thanks to Warren and his family!
Some of the best calm water snorkeling in all of Hawaii is located just down the street from our hale at Kahalu'u Beach Park. Safe for novices as well as more experienced snorkelers, there are beautiful and colorful coral gardens to explore. The last time I went out, I saw 3 turtles and counted 41 different species of vibrant tropical fish! Swim out along the left side of the bay towards the reef for the best visibility and diversity of coral and fish. Check the tide charts online to go out at high tide for the best access. The park has restrooms, showers, a covered pavilion with picnic tables, lifeguard, shave ice truck, snorkel gear rentals and plenty of sand to relax on. Don't forget your sunscreen!
