About the property

Chalet, 8 Bedrooms, 5 Baths, (Sleeps 16)

8 bedroom, 5 bath chalet at 3,000 feet on Ski Mountain in Gatlinburg's Chalet Village. Convenient location just off Ski Mountain Road is 3.0 miles down the mountain to shopping, dining and attractions in downtown Gatlinburg and 0.5 miles up to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort, an all season resort. The chalet is within walking distance to Chalet Village Owner's Club which offers guest privileges to the large swimming pool, tennis courts and game room (closed in winter). The Owner's Club is also a staging point for the available 5 minute shuttle ride to Ober Gatlinburg for downhill skiing, snow tubing and ice skating in winter months when parking at the resort is at a premium.

The chalet's 'roundabout' style is great for group gatherings with a nice stone fireplace in the center of the main level. The living area around the fireplace includes a 52 inch TV, sofa, 3 reclining chairs and 5 theater-style chairs on a raised platform for lots of available seating. Also on the main level is a full kitchen, dining area (table with seating for 12), bar (seating for 4), pool table, 1 bedroom (King) and 1 bath. The kitchen has stainless appliances, a large pantry and 2 full size refrigerator/freezers with through the door water and ice for plenty of food storage for your large group. Ground floor parking just a few steps away makes for easy in and out to the chalet.

Upstairs is a total of 7 bedrooms, comprised of 3 kings, 2 queens, 1 day bed with popup trundle (creating a king equivalent) and 1 bunk bedroom with washer/dryer closet, in addition to 4 baths. Each upstairs bedroom has a 32 inch flat screen TV. All upstairs bedrooms, except the bunk bedroom, have access to the wraparound deck. One of the bathrooms is private, while the remaining others are each shared between two bedrooms with separate access for privacy.

The chalet is fully furnished with all linens and utensils. Outside is a six person hot tub, picnic table, rocking chairs, charcoal grill and large supply of firewood. Central heat and air, high capacity water heater, high speed internet, wireless internet, cable and landline phone service ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. The chalet has a limited mountain/wooded view and is five minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 5-10 minutes from Gatlinburg, and 15-20 minutes from Pigeon Forge.

Rates are $285 per night (except major holidays) with a two night minimum and $200 cleaning fee plus tax. We are pet friendly, and may charge an additional fee in certain circumstances. No smoking is allowed inside the chalet.

About The Owner

We live in Knoxville, 45 minutes away and make frequent trips to enjoy the cabin and ensure maintenance and cleaning are up to standard.

The Owner purchased this chalet in 2002

Why The Owner chose Gatlinburg

As natives of East Tennessee, our family has made countless trips to the Smokies, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge over the years. When we were finally in a position to purchase an investment property that we would also hopefully be able to use occassionally, the choice was easy. There's something for everyone, and with a full four seasons the scenery is everchanging and always beautiful.

What makes this chalet unique

Although we are only 45 minutes away, taking the day trip aspect out of the picture and staying overnight is so much more relaxing, and always an adventure with our kids. The downstairs living area promotes family gathering, and we always enjoy the center fireplace and large kitchen table. We've also found the location makes for a great way to have reunions with old friends now living out of town. The central location of the cabin is ideal, and we are literally minutes away from all the area has to offer.

A gem

  • 5 of 5

Impressive inside. Clean. We had no issues with the cabin. We did have some minor issues with the driveway. Its a little steep. We were on motorcycles. We had to block traffic before leaving. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you Mike

Perfect place for a family/group getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great experience here. We decided to book here to evacuate hurricane Irma and it was perfect. The owner was quick to respond, communicative, and made sure our experience was a positive one. The cabin has a spacious and open bottom floor that is great for playing games, watching movies, hanging out, and eating together. The upstairs provides plenty of room for people to hang out, get some privacy and rest, and plenty of bathrooms for people to get ready to go out. There were 8 of us staying here and we never felt cramped. There was enough room outside for our four cars, and the roads leading in are all paved and two lanes. You are a 2 min drive to a small market store and 10 min from downtown Gatlinburg. If you're looking to see bears, we were sitting on the balcony when one walked right up the drive! We would definitely rent again for a group or family vacation.

great rental, lots of room for everyone. loved the new kitchen and 2 refrigerators

  • 5 of 5

this rental was better than it looked in the pictures. The kitchen was newly remodeled, with 2 refrigerators. My family loved the family room seating, the kids quickly claimed to movie theatre seats in the back row. There were 7 bedrooms upstairs, and most had access doors to the surround deck. bathrooms were connections between bedrooms and this was great for parents with children in the next room. There were tvs in every room upstairs. When we were there it kept raining off and on and was not warm enough for the pool, but my family loved the heated hot tub. We saw NO bears the whole time we were there, and I was happy about that. There are two ways into the rental. One way, by the bypass is not too bad. the other way is very scary, windy, with drop-offs. The rental is only minutes outside of Gatlinburg, so if you want mountain scenery, but are not fond of mountain roads, this is great. plenty of room to park off the road, though the driveway down was a little steep. Did have a little problem with the dryer door not wanting close to start the dryer, but this had been mention in the owners intro, and got it started. The owner quickly responded to all texts, GREAT communication. I would definitely take my family here again.

The House was great, getting there was a little rough.

  • 4 of 5

The house had plenty of space for the 16 of us and it was great. There was lots of space for everyone and we had a great time. We had a Honda Mini van and we were spinning tires trying to get up the mountain to get there and also spinning tires getting out the drive way. So bring a 4x4 or SUV and you should not have a problem getting to this place.
