I rented The Dryden House for my Louisiana siblings and their spouses (8 total) for my sons wedding to a local Eastern Shore girl. They were immensely impressed with the beauty and comfort of the home, the easy beach access and that wonderful porch where they so enjoyed their morning coffee and late night gatherings. I rented 5 homes in all for friends and family, but The Dryden House is where we would return.

I loved the old, antique charm of the property. I've been an antique collector since my early years and if I was to choose and restore a house, this is exactly what I would have done. The attention to detail was excellent and the location was perfect for a family getaway. Proximity to the beach made it easy for us to enjoy ourselves without much of a hassle. We will definitely recommend it and return!
A beautiful Victorian house in walking distance to the beach. Lots of room for the whole family. Short walk to the town. Our family had a great time staying there.
This incredible, beautifully furnished home has all the old charm with upgraded amenities. It Overlooks the Bay with a beautiful beach. Gorgeous veranda with big family sized table to eat at or simply sit in glider and enjoy incredible sunsets. Walking distance to quaint little town with charming shops and restaurants. Such a relaxing vacation!
This house is simply perfect. It has been renovated beautifully and has gorgeous furnishings. The kitchen is very well stocked with every convenience of home. The beds were so luxurious. We truly enjoyed eating on the huge porch and waving at all of the people riding by on golf carts. The beach directly in front of this home is huge and the kids enjoyed being able to run around on the beach and go far out into the shallow water. There are several nice restaurants and a homemade ice cream shop within walking distance. I can't say enough good things about this home or this charming town.
The Dryden House was fantastic. The house was fully equipped with many extras. The rooms were large and comfortable. The outside porch was delightful to enjoy the cool breezes off the Bay. The 3rd floor entertainment room was perfect for kids of all ages. The garage included bikes, boogie boards, beach chairs and many other items for enjoying on vacation. This property is special.
Beautiful historic house right across from the very large beach. Faces west for beautiful sun sets. Well maintained with period furniture. Nice big kitchen and bar area. Big garage with lots of toys, bikes, etc. Outdoor shower. Cape Charles is a charming town with very friendly people. Lots of things to do in the area without the throngs you find in the outer banks or Virginia Beach. The owners (not just the rental agent) actually contacted us to find out about our stay. Very impressive.
