What makes Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina so special? It is located directly on one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. You are literally steps from the beach with an amazing coral reef and great snorkeling! We have tried many other places, but none had as pretty a beach, the great breezes, or such great snorkeling right outside our door. With the marina at the resort and the ferry from Red Hood close by, it is perfect for island hopping to St John or the British Virgin Islands. Enjoy tropical drinks and a burger or mahi sandwich at the Banana Cabana located on the beach, open during the day for lunch and snacks. The dive shop on site rents snorkeling equipment and kayaks. The views of St John and the British Virgin Islands are simply spectacular! If you want to have a spacious, comfortable suite with an incredible view right on a stunningly beautiful beach, this is it!

What makes Sea Glass at Sapphire (E206) so wonderful? We purchased this condo in 2012 and have renovated and updated almost everything in the condo! It sleeps up to 4 (2 adults plus 2 children - age 12 or under). We want your family to be comfortable, so we have HEAVENLY BED KING MATTRESS AND BOX SPRINGS, queen sofa sleeper, oversized chair, NEW bar height patio table and chairs, Biltmore 600 and 800 thread count linens, luxury bath linens and beach towels, dinnerware with embossed shells, new rugs, new light fixtures including ceiling fans, new lamps and COMPLETELY RENOVATED BATHROOM. The bathroom has a new tile shower with pebble flooring, pebble accents, new tile floors, and granite countertops. The unit has been freshly painted throughout! Sapphire Beach Resort has 5 Buildings that are on the beach--A,B,C,D and E. My husband and I have stayed in every building, and the thing we love about the E building is that it offers spectacular views of the turquoise blue water as well as direct views of St John and the British Virgin Islands. It is also more private than some of the other buildings, as several of the buildings are on the busier 'main' beach. Here, you can enjoy the activities on the main beach and then come back to the privacy of your condo when you are ready to chill. One of my favorite things about being in the E building is watching the twinkling lights on St John at night...absolutely magical!

All of the first and second floor units at Sapphire Beach Resort are Studio suites, while the third and fourth floors are the two-story Villa units. We feel some of the advantages that the second floor units have compared to the first floor units are better views and more privacy.

We love the snorkeling here! We regularly see turtles and rays in the grass bed in the middle of Sapphire Beach, and the reef on both sides and around the point is breathtakingl! It is quite a show of purple fans, yellow corals, and beautiful fish! I have even seen a spotted eagle ray here! We can give you some great recommendations for snorkeling spots on St John and in the BVIs as well.

The living area features a queen sleeper sofa, over-sized chair, coffee table, flat screen TV, and a full kitchen. The sliding glass doors off of the living area open onto the spacious patio with bar height dining table for four. Blue tooth speaker. BEACH TOWELS ARE PROVIDED.

There are many great restaurants throughout St Thomas and St John, and we have listed some of our favorites in the welcome emails we send.

We live in Greenville, South Carolina and have three children...two boys and a girl. I am a real estate agent, and my husband is an engineer. We love to travel, and Sapphire Beach is our favorite! Click on the satellite link on the map below to see the water colors and the reefs at Sapphire!

Why Angela Carson chose St. Thomas

We fell in love with Sapphire Beach Resort the first time we stepped onto the white sands in 2004. We have visited many resorts throughout the US and British Virgin Islands, but Sapphire has always been our favorite. It was our dream to own a place here!

What makes this condo unique

We love being able to snorkel every day right outside of the condo, hanging out in a lounge chair on the beach, and being able to see the turquoise water from every vantage point in the room! We love going over to St John on the car ferry (only a mile down the road) and snorkeling different places there. We love exploring the British Virgin Islands, too! The Baths are a must see! There are many great snorkeling spots in the British Virgin Islands as well.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

My wife & I got back last week from a great vacation in St. Thomas. Seaglass was as advertised. The room was very clean & had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Phil & Angela were very helpful thru the whole renting process.

The location was amazing. Very close to the town of Redhook & the ferry to St. John which by the way runs every hr. throughout the day. Best view from the deck we have ever had.

Also it's convenient to have the marina right next to the condo. We took a day sail on the Nightwind which I highly recommend. Took us to two great places to snorkel & the lunch was very good.

When we come back to St. Thomas we would definitely stay at Seaglass again. I just hope the beach bar at the pool will re-open the next time we stay there.

Still a great location...

  • 3 of 5

We have stayed at different units at Sapphire Beach 3 times. This building and its view is our favorite. We traveled with another couple and chose Sea Glass and Sail Away due to their adjacent location and ability to share the balconies. I am an avid reader of the reviews on VRBO and I use them to make my decisions when renting. Therefore I felt obligated to share my experience so that future renters are informed. Phil was great during the reservation process and provided informative details about vacationing on St. Thomas. Although upon first impression the unit was well decorated, we ran into minor difficulties as we settled in. The unit is simply cluttered with too much unecessary items. The closet was jammed with containers and pillows, leaving no room for hanging clothes, shoes, or empty suitcases and a broken safe. As we organized for the week, we found random drawers in the desk and bathroom full of miscellaneous stuff and we felt suffocated by the inability to settle in for our week in paradise. Attention to detail for the unit condition seems to fall on the cleaner and we had the wrong internet code for the first two days, a broken coffee pot, and a hanging cabinet door upon our arrival. Phil was responsive and tried to provide support via long distance but a visit from a manager to remedy these problems sure would have been an improvement. We enjoy cooking simple meals and eating on the balconies and we were resourceful and used what was available in both kitchens because the pots and pans were subpar. There were plenty of dishes and glasses. Our friends struggled with the lack of adequate lighting in SailAway, not only with the poor choice of fixtures but lack of working light bulbs. We still had a wonderful time at a beautiful location on St. Thomas but we do wish more attention to visitor storage constraints was considered. Some new pots and pans would also be a positive investment and the cleaner/ manager needs to follow through to ensure that guests are comfortable with the condition of the unit ammenities.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to hear this. We want Sea Glass to be a wonderful experience for all of our guests, and we try to take every comment seriously. Addressing your concerns: storage space is a huge issue on the island. We want to provide plenty of clean bedspreads, towels and linens for our guests, and we have to make do with what storage areas that we have. The closet does have plenty of room for hanging clothes (certainly for two people), but not for storing suitcases at this time. We have plenty of empty drawers in the desk, the bathroom and the tv cabinet. We do continue to try to find ways to make more storage space. With regard to the tv cabinet door, our handyman was scheduled to fix it before you arrived but was delayed. He offered to come while you were there, but you declined and assured us that it was fine. It is surprising to see it now mentioned in the review. With regard to the internet, the power outages on the island do sometimes require a resetting of the code, which was on the router and did work. In addition, Phil advised you multiple times that you could always use Sail Away's internet and provided you with the code for that. With regard to kitchen items: we have purchased a new full set of pots and pans for our guests that like to cook in the unit. With regard to the "clutter": most of our guests love the decor of the unit, and the items are clearly shown in the photos. There are many units that are more simply decorated, which may be a better fit for your travel needs. With regard to the lighting---Sail Away is a separate unit, so I will let Debbie, the owner of Sail Away, address that. Almost all of our guests love Sea Glass and have a five star experience, as seen in our reviews. As I said earlier, it is important to us for our guests to have a wonderful experience, and we constantly strive to improve and maintain our unit. We are sorry that you felt that yours was not, and we wish you the best of luck in your future travels.

Great place to stay! Great View! Great owners!

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay while on St Thomas! The condo was clean an up to date with all the amenities you would want. Bed was super comfy and view was exceptional. Location on island is very ideal with the short drive/walk to Red Hook which has great food and you are able to catch a ferry to St John. Beach was beautiful and great snorkeling. Owners were very good at communicating and the amount of info on the islands they provided was very useful and made our stay extra special. Would definitely recommend to stay here.

You won't be disappointed!

The reviews are very accurate: this is a wonderful condo to vacation at St. Thomas! Best complex location, great unit location, beautifully decorated unit, comfortable bed, and very clean. I don't want to let the word know how great this unit is - because I want it to be available for me to return!! The owners are also very concerned for their guests to have a wonderful stay - they took good care of us when a repair was needing to be made during our stay. Concerned and active owners are necessary when renting VRBO! We are not 'resort' people - we loved being able to have breakfast and lunch (and drinks) on our balcony with the best view in the Caribbean! We almost did not want to go out do eat when our view was the best! The complex is slowly being upgraded (it is so much better than when we were on the island 2 years ago.) The pool is actually a lovely design - just needs landscaping, and for the pool restaurant to be redone and reopened - then it will be a dream! The water in the cove is as clear as a pool, so why spend time in a pool!! (Snorkeling is the BEST in this cove - be sure to go all the way out on the point - beautiful coral and rock formations, active fish population! Turtles and eagle rays in the grassy middle!) If the complex gets too nice, then the unit will cost too much for me to afford!! We recommend booking the Nightwind sailboat out of the marina there - a comfortable sailboat, real sailing, great crew, small group of people (6 on our trip) , and great snorkeling! ($125pp for the day).

Awesome stay at Sapphire Beach....again!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Sapphire Beach last year at this same time for 2 weeks. Our experience in spending a month on St Thomas in the last year is Sapphire Beach is hands down the best place to stay on the island and E building is the best place to stay on Sapphire Beach! Views of St John/Cruz Bay and 30 yards from the water and waves seals the deal. It is also a lot more private from the cruise ship traffic but only a 1 minute walk to that side of the beach. The best location for the East winds also makes a big difference! 5 minute ride to Red Hook for nightlife/restaurants and Ferries to St John which is our favorite place to hang out on the beaches. Be careful with some of the reviews stating that some areas are rundown and there's a legal battle between Condo Association and developer. Legal battle will not affect your stay and pool is open along with snorkel shop if you need gear. The views and important amenities are not affected. Cant wait to get back!

Excellent stay!

  • 5 of 5

We love the East End of St Thomas mainly because of the views of the BVIs as well as St. John and again, we were not disappointed this time. The drive to the condo is easy-peasy and entrance is a piece of cake as well. The condo is impeccably clean which we loved. Another FABULOUS thing: they stock with toilet paper! I know, I know you would assume this would be standard, but really it's not. Such a nice touch! - Literally? - The condo is decorated with nice items and does not feel or look cheap. Even though you shouldn't be inside too much, it's definitely nice to have a place to chill if it rains or is just plain too hot outside. The couch and chair they have in the unit are so comfortable! We had one rainy day and the comfort of the place made it okay. And let's not even talk about the porch and tall chairs which make the view incredible. The view will keep you speechless!

We would definitely return to the condo and highly recommend it. Phil and his wife are very responsive, friendly and knowledgeable.

*(Just a note: There is a pool, however, it's not 'done' very well in our opinion. Also, it states there is a restaurant at the pool, however, there isn't. There is a tent set up with a grill and some drink stations near the beach. This doesn't take away from the condo unit but I felt the need to add this. Also, this might be temporary, so prepare to ask Phil if you feel the need.)

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words about our condo! We are so glad it was comfortable for you during your stay. When I bought the furniture, the sales people tried to talk me into the ones with bamboo arms. I thought they weren't comfortable, and I wanted our guests to be able to relax! It makes me so happy that you noticed! :)
