What makes Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina so special? It is located directly on one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. You are literally steps from the beach with an amazing coral reef and great snorkeling! We have tried many other places, but none had as pretty a beach, the great breezes, or such great snorkeling right outside our door. With the marina at the resort and the ferry from Red Hood close by, it is perfect for island hopping to St John or the British Virgin Islands. Enjoy tropical drinks and a burger or mahi sandwich at the Sapphire Beach Bar & Grille located on the beach. The dive shop on site rents snorkeling equipment and kayaks. The views of St John and the British Virgin Islands are simply spectacular! If you want to have a spacious, comfortable suite with an incredible view right on a stunningly beautiful beach, this is it!
What makes Sea Glass at Sapphire (E206) so wonderful? We purchased this condo in 2012 and have renovated and updated almost everything in the condo! It sleeps up to 4 (2 adults plus 2 children - age 12 or under). We want your family to be comfortable, so we have HEAVENLY BED KING MATTRESS AND BOX SPRINGS, queen sofa sleeper, oversized chair, NEW bar height patio table and chairs, Biltmore 600 and 800 thread count linens, luxury bath linens and beach towels, dinnerware with embossed shells, new rugs, new light fixtures including ceiling fans, new lamps and COMPLETELY RENOVATED BATHROOM. The bathroom has a new tile shower with pebble flooring, pebble accents, new tile floors, and granite countertops. The unit has been freshly painted throughout! Sapphire Beach Resort has 5 Buildings that are on the beach--A,B,C,D and E. My husband and I have stayed in every building, and the thing we love about the E building is that it offers spectacular views of the turquoise blue water as well as direct views of St John and the British Virgin Islands. It is also more private than some of the other buildings, as several of the buildings are on the busier 'main' beach. Here, you can enjoy the activities on the main beach and then come back to the privacy of your condo when you are ready to chill. One of my favorite things about being in the E building is watching the twinkling lights on St John at night...absolutely magical!
All of the first and second floor units at Sapphire Beach Resort are Studio suites, while the third and fourth floors are the two-story Villa units. We feel some of the advantages that the second floor units have compared to the first floor units are better views and more privacy.
We love the snorkeling here! We regularly see turtles and rays in the grass bed in the middle of Sapphire Beach, and the reef on both sides and around the point is breathtakingl! It is quite a show of purple fans, yellow corals, and beautiful fish! I have even seen a spotted eagle ray here! We can give you some great recommendations for snorkeling spots on St John and in the BVIs as well.
The living area features a queen sleeper sofa, over-sized chair, coffee table, flat screen TV, and a full kitchen. The sliding glass doors off of the living area open onto the spacious patio with bar height dining table for four. Blue tooth speaker. BEACH TOWELS ARE PROVIDED.
There are many great restaurants throughout St Thomas and St John, and we have listed some of our favorites in the welcome emails we send.

We live in Cleveland, TN and have three children...two boys and a girl. I am a real estate agent, and my husband is an engineer. We love to travel, and Sapphire Beach is our favorite! Click on the satellite link on the map below to see the water colors and the reefs at Sapphire!
Phil & Angela Carson purchased this condo in 2012
We fell in love with Sapphire Beach Resort the first time we stepped onto the white sands in 2004. We have visited many resorts throughout the US and British Virgin Islands, but Sapphire has always been our favorite. It was our dream to own a place here!
We love being able to snorkel every day right outside of the condo, hanging out in a lounge chair on the beach, and being able to see the turquoise water from every vantage point in the room! We love going over to St John on the car ferry (only a mile down the road) and snorkeling different places there. We love exploring the British Virgin Islands, too! The Baths are a must see! There are many great snorkeling spots in the British Virgin Islands as well.
Sea Glass is by far the nicest unit I've stayed in at Sapphire and given almost a year there, I saw quite a few. Fab decorating, over the top bedding, strong WiFi, nice TV, speaker to play iTunes through, well thought out and stocked kitchen (pots, pans, glasses) and exceedingly clean. Sapphire is the best location on island re: access to ferry, Red Hook, beach, the best snorkeling out your back door and Sea Glass is the best unit. Plus Sapphire is secure with multiple guards on duty at any time day or night. Red Hook with groceries, shopping, restaurants is 2 minutes away. Owners clearly have their stuff together - great communication, easy booking process, no access issues. I was down for business, but will be back for relaxation in this lovely unit.
My wife and I just got back from a 5 day stay in Seaglass. Everything in the description is exactly what you will find. The view are incredible. The condo is clean and well kept . Location is perfect for St thomas. The snorkeling off the beach at sapphire is as good as anywhere on the island.. The marina next door was very nice . We took a day sail to St.John on New horizons. Red Hook is only a mile away and has many good places to eat and the ferrys to St John (car and people) and bvi. The communication from Phil made the process easy. This was our first vrbo experience and went great.
This trip was awesome and the condo and sapphire beach were a big part of it.
The one issue we had was, being the low season, a lot of the local vendors were gone and the beach dive shop was not open anytime we were there. The pool was boarded up on one day. Not a problem for us, we never wanted to use it. Too many other options.
My wife & I got back last week from a great vacation in St. Thomas. Seaglass was as advertised. The room was very clean & had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Phil & Angela were very helpful thru the whole renting process.
The location was amazing. Very close to the town of Redhook & the ferry to St. John which by the way runs every hr. throughout the day. Best view from the deck we have ever had.
Also it's convenient to have the marina right next to the condo. We took a day sail on the Nightwind which I highly recommend. Took us to two great places to snorkel & the lunch was very good.
When we come back to St. Thomas we would definitely stay at Seaglass again. I just hope the beach bar at the pool will re-open the next time we stay there.
We have stayed at different units at Sapphire Beach 3 times. This building and its view is our favorite. We traveled with another couple and chose Sea Glass and Sail Away due to their adjacent location and ability to share the balconies. I am an avid reader of the reviews on VRBO and I use them to make my decisions when renting. Therefore I felt obligated to share my experience so that future renters are informed. Phil was great during the reservation process and provided informative details about vacationing on St. Thomas. Although upon first impression the unit was well decorated, we ran into minor difficulties as we settled in. The unit is simply cluttered with too much unecessary items. The closet was jammed with containers and pillows, leaving no room for hanging clothes, shoes, or empty suitcases and a broken safe. As we organized for the week, we found random drawers in the desk and bathroom full of miscellaneous stuff and we felt suffocated by the inability to settle in for our week in paradise. Attention to detail for the unit condition seems to fall on the cleaner and we had the wrong internet code for the first two days, a broken coffee pot, and a hanging cabinet door upon our arrival. Phil was responsive and tried to provide support via long distance but a visit from a manager to remedy these problems sure would have been an improvement. We enjoy cooking simple meals and eating on the balconies and we were resourceful and used what was available in both kitchens because the pots and pans were subpar. There were plenty of dishes and glasses. Our friends struggled with the lack of adequate lighting in SailAway, not only with the poor choice of fixtures but lack of working light bulbs. We still had a wonderful time at a beautiful location on St. Thomas but we do wish more attention to visitor storage constraints was considered. Some new pots and pans would also be a positive investment and the cleaner/ manager needs to follow through to ensure that guests are comfortable with the condition of the unit ammenities.
Great place to stay while on St Thomas! The condo was clean an up to date with all the amenities you would want. Bed was super comfy and view was exceptional. Location on island is very ideal with the short drive/walk to Red Hook which has great food and you are able to catch a ferry to St John. Beach was beautiful and great snorkeling. Owners were very good at communicating and the amount of info on the islands they provided was very useful and made our stay extra special. Would definitely recommend to stay here.
The reviews are very accurate: this is a wonderful condo to vacation at St. Thomas! Best complex location, great unit location, beautifully decorated unit, comfortable bed, and very clean. I don't want to let the word know how great this unit is - because I want it to be available for me to return!! The owners are also very concerned for their guests to have a wonderful stay - they took good care of us when a repair was needing to be made during our stay. Concerned and active owners are necessary when renting VRBO! We are not 'resort' people - we loved being able to have breakfast and lunch (and drinks) on our balcony with the best view in the Caribbean! We almost did not want to go out do eat when our view was the best! The complex is slowly being upgraded (it is so much better than when we were on the island 2 years ago.) The pool is actually a lovely design - just needs landscaping, and for the pool restaurant to be redone and reopened - then it will be a dream! The water in the cove is as clear as a pool, so why spend time in a pool!! (Snorkeling is the BEST in this cove - be sure to go all the way out on the point - beautiful coral and rock formations, active fish population! Turtles and eagle rays in the grassy middle!) If the complex gets too nice, then the unit will cost too much for me to afford!! We recommend booking the Nightwind sailboat out of the marina there - a comfortable sailboat, real sailing, great crew, small group of people (6 on our trip) , and great snorkeling! ($125pp for the day).
