What makes Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina so special? It is located directly on one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. You are literally steps from the beach with an amazing coral reef and great snorkeling! We have tried many other places, but none had as pretty a beach, the great breezes, or such great snorkeling right outside our door. With the marina at the resort and the ferry from Red Hood close by, it is perfect for island hopping to St John or the British Virgin Islands. Enjoy tropical drinks and a burger or mahi sandwich at the Sapphire Beach Bar & Grille located on the beach. The dive shop on site rents snorkeling equipment and kayaks. The views of St John and the British Virgin Islands are simply spectacular! If you want to have a spacious, comfortable suite with an incredible view right on a stunningly beautiful beach, this is it!

What makes Sea Glass at Sapphire (E206) so wonderful? We purchased this condo in 2012 and have renovated and updated almost everything in the condo! It sleeps up to 4 (2 adults plus 2 children - age 12 or under). We want your family to be comfortable, so we have HEAVENLY BED KING MATTRESS AND BOX SPRINGS, queen sofa sleeper, oversized chair, NEW bar height patio table and chairs, Biltmore 600 and 800 thread count linens, luxury bath linens and beach towels, dinnerware with embossed shells, new rugs, new light fixtures including ceiling fans, new lamps and COMPLETELY RENOVATED BATHROOM. The bathroom has a new tile shower with pebble flooring, pebble accents, new tile floors, and granite countertops. The unit has been freshly painted throughout! Sapphire Beach Resort has 5 Buildings that are on the beach--A,B,C,D and E. My husband and I have stayed in every building, and the thing we love about the E building is that it offers spectacular views of the turquoise blue water as well as direct views of St John and the British Virgin Islands. It is also more private than some of the other buildings, as several of the buildings are on the busier 'main' beach. Here, you can enjoy the activities on the main beach and then come back to the privacy of your condo when you are ready to chill. One of my favorite things about being in the E building is watching the twinkling lights on St John at night...absolutely magical!

All of the first and second floor units at Sapphire Beach Resort are Studio suites, while the third and fourth floors are the two-story Villa units. We feel some of the advantages that the second floor units have compared to the first floor units are better views and more privacy.

We love the snorkeling here! We regularly see turtles and rays in the grass bed in the middle of Sapphire Beach, and the reef on both sides and around the point is breathtakingl! It is quite a show of purple fans, yellow corals, and beautiful fish! I have even seen a spotted eagle ray here! We can give you some great recommendations for snorkeling spots on St John and in the BVIs as well.

The living area features a queen sleeper sofa, over-sized chair, coffee table, flat screen TV, and a full kitchen. The sliding glass doors off of the living area open onto the spacious patio with bar height dining table for four. Blue tooth speaker. BEACH TOWELS ARE PROVIDED.

There are many great restaurants throughout St Thomas and St John, and we have listed some of our favorites in the welcome emails we send.

Why Phil & Angela Carson chose East End

We fell in love with Sapphire Beach Resort the first time we stepped onto the white sands in 2004. We have visited many resorts throughout the US and British Virgin Islands, but Sapphire has always been our favorite. It was our dream to own a place here!

What makes this condo unique

We love being able to snorkel every day right outside of the condo, hanging out in a lounge chair on the beach, and being able to see the turquoise water from every vantage point in the room! We love going over to St John on the car ferry (only a mile down the road) and snorkeling different places there. We love exploring the British Virgin Islands, too! The Baths are a must see! There are many great snorkeling spots in the British Virgin Islands as well.

Why stay anywhere else?

If you believe that real estate is all about location, location, location, then this is the place for you! Watch the sun rise from the balcony, great snorkeling steps from the door, marina next door, close proximity to the ferry, (20 minutes from St. John), very peaceful and quiet, safe, beautifully decorated. Sea Glass at Sapphire Beach Resort was a perfect choice for us. Phil and Angela were great to work with and were exceptionally helpful with suggestions from years of experience vacationing in the islands. The PDFs Phil sent with information on everything from grocery stores, dining out, directions, activities, charters, and the best beaches and snorkeling areas was our "go-to" for our vacation itinerary. Highly recommend the Bad Kitty cruise to the BVI and going to St John Island. However if you just stayed at Sapphire Beach and enjoyed this awesome rental, that would be fine too.

Sea Glass Rocks!

This beautifully decorated and maintained studio is beginning to feel more like home than Phil and Angela would probably like. After almost two weeks, we were pretty well settled in and almost forget to leave. Pictures and descriptions accurate; P&A incredibly communicative and a pleasure to work with. Renters here PLEASE understand you're staying at more of a condo complex than a resort, and for us that's a YUUUUGE (can't seem to get away from that word) plus. And a very well run complex at that. Buildings, grounds and pool are all in great shape. There are a couple of buildings here and there that need some TLC, but not where you'll be residing. The COA here has got its act together, and I was impressed with improvements made and those ongoing over the last 2 years. In our 27 years of visiting Sapphire, the scenery has never changed and is spectacular as ever. You will find no other spot on the island that combines the great proximity of lodging, view and beach. Believe me, we've looked. Always at least one; sometimes 2/3, but nowhere else do you get all 3. Snorkeling right off shore at Sapphire is still very good, but the reef's health is suffering a bit. Some storm damage, but mostly human damage. PLEASE DON'T STAND ON THE REEF!! But I digress . . . . Remember if you're here, you're OK with a mostly self-catering vacation/holiday, rather than one where you will be catered to. And you really should rent a car. You'll get over driving on the "wrong" side once you pay a few taxi fares. You won't go wrong with Sea Glass; just about to finalize our 2018 booking . . . . .

We have also tried other places, and we always regretted not staying at Sapphire. We love that it is a laid back condo atmosphere. We do have some pampering....the chair person will put your lounge chair wherever you want it and the Sapphire Beach Bar waiters will fetch drinks and food while you are on the beach! :) :) Please come stay with us again!!!

Awesome location and easy rental process

Amazing location with to die for views and great beach. Snorkeling right outside your door is better than most any place we've been. Unit is efficient and has everything you need. Owners are attentive, very easy to work with. Sapphire Beach is very close to Red Hook which has everything you need.

25th Anniversary Trip

My husband and I just returned from 10 fabulous days at Sea Glass! I would say that the two best things about the condo were the very comfortable king-sized bed and the amazing deck with a breathtaking view of St. John. Sapphire Beach is beautiful and the snorkeling was great. We didn't spend a lot of time at the pool but it was very nice. The condo location was very convenient to Red Hook--lots of restaurants, shopping and the ferry. Our favorite restaurant was Fish Tails. And we liked the fact that our building was right next door to the marina. You could watch the boats going in and out. One night we bought some fish from one of the fishing boats and prepared it for dinner. Delicious! We also did a 9-1/2 hour excursion on Breakaway II to Virgin Gorda, BVI, to see The Baths. Lots of fun! If you don't like to cook on vacation and don't want to drive into Red Hook, there is a beach bar at the resort that serves food and a very good restaurant that's within walking distance on the other side of the marina ("Slice"). Phil and Angela provided lots of information for our visit and it was very helpful. We loved Sea Glass! Would definitely stay again. P.S. One piece of advice - if you rent a car and have Verizon phones, be sure to rent a GPS unit. We didn't get one because we planned to use our phones and Verizon does not work there. We found it very difficult to drive on the island without GPS because the roads are not marked well.

We stayed in this condo and it was fabulous!! The mattress was amazing and the views were even better!! The owners thought of everything you could possibly need for beach outings and it was appreciated!! This was our 8th trip to the islands and we will most definitely stay here again!!
