We love our Colorado Springs home but find ourselves living elsewhere for employment. We visit often ourselves. We have 4 children and 5 grandchildren in the Colorado Springs area.
Theresa White purchased this house in 2006
We love Colorado Springs. It is full of wonderful things to do. Our home sits at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain near Fort Carson. This part of town gets less snow and has very little congestion. It is close to the zoo, hiking, world class resorts and most of all, it is close to our grandchildren!
Our Colorado Springs home is very relaxing and a wonderful place to spend time with family. We have a lovely back yard with a swing set and a hammock strung between two huge shade trees. It is only a mile from the interstate which makes it feel close to everything. Evenings in the family room with a fire in the fireplace and a great movie with surround sound is often better than going out. The new double oven stove makes cooking for your family easy and convenient.
Thank you for a comfortable stay in your lovely home. Everything possibly needed was there, and we were well rested between our sight-seeing. Our little dog also had a great time exploring the yard and hearing a dog or dogs on the other side of the fence. We got some great photos in the hammock.
Thank you again for not only the pleasant stay in your home but also the pleasant conversations, communications and arrangements in making the plans. The experience was a delight from beginning to receipt of the refundable deposit. Best wishes to you both!
I loved this location: close to mountains, downtown, all activities. Great backyard with playground and swings and lots of free play. Lots of toys and games. Safe quite neighborhood besides the fact of airforce base siren in the morning but it didn't bother me too much. Rooms are spacious. Kitchen has just about everything. The only downside are sprinkles going off every day at 7pm. All our shoes were getting wet as that time we were coming back home. Kids had fun but I didn't:) I asked the owner to move sprinkles time to other time but they never did.
Our family loved the space in this lovely home. The 8 adults liked the fact that the bedrooms were all on the same floor so that we were together. The home is decorated very nicely. We ladies especially enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen as we cooked daily. The promptness of the owners on the a/c problem and getting it fixed the next day was amazing! The location to the sites that we wanted to visit was really good and easy to navigate. The only negative for us were that some of the carpets needed shampooing - especially the living room but we were mostly in the family room watching the olympics. We would give this home an A and would rent again from these owners. The lovely yellow mums were an extra nice touch!
Thank you for the use of your vacation home. We found most everything meet or exceeded our expectations. Owners were available be phone or text message to immediately address any concerns. Again, thank you.
Stayed here with our family of 5 and my mom and had plenty of room for everyone. The house was as described and as pictured. Everything was clean and well stocked. While in Colorado Springs we took in a Rockies game, visited Garden of the Gods and the Olympic Training Center, did some shopping in Manitou Springs, climbed the Manitou Incline, took the cog railroad to Pikes Peak, went white water rafting, and visited Royal Gorge and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The house was in a great location to take in all of these activities without excessive travel time. It's also super close to a grocery store and a ton of restaurants for the nights you don't feel like cooking. We truly enjoyed our time in Colorado and I'd love to visit again someday.
Theresa was easy to contact and quick to respond. The house was just as the listing described. I felt it was clean and well cared for. I appreciated the supply of 'left over' items that we were welcome to use (i.e. toiletries, spices, condiments, paperware, games, DVD's). There is easy access to stores and freeway. I'm glad I chose this home for a week long vacation and sightseeing in Colorado.
Being a VRBO homeowner myself the past 6 years and having 30 reviews with a 5-star average, I understand the importance of a good review. However, I feel that it is also important to give an honest review. I can only state what happened. We had a four-hour flight into Denver then drove nearly an hour and a half to the house, arriving at 3AM. We were exhausted and could only think about sleep. We arrived at the house and the key to the front door did not work and we could not get in. (Plus there was no light to even see to put the key in; thankfully we had brought a small flashlight.) We had to go in search of a hotel in the middle of the night. When the homeowner got back to us the next day, it was like it was no big deal and she texted that they "sometimes have trouble with the key." Unacceptable customer service! They never came to fix the lock the entire week, so we had to go in and out of the garage, using their electric garage door opener, which then stopped working. It was very exasperating, to say the least. Once we arrived, too, there was a book left for us with a long list of to-do's if we wanted to get our deposit back, including stripping our beds, emptying out the garbages, etc....I mean, what did we pay a $180 housekeeping fee for? Afterwards, she said that her husband joked that they shouldn't rent to us again because of the key and garage door. It was very insulting. On the plus side, the house is in a nice area and a nice neighborhood, is conveniently located to shops, and has a nice, fenced backyard and swing set area in case you have children. The rooms are sizable and we found it particularly handy to have two "living rooms" in proximity to each other. After thinking it over, I would not stay again just because of the nonchalant attitude of the homeowner when we were majorly inconvenienced.
