About Theresa White

We love our Colorado Springs home but find ourselves living elsewhere for employment. We visit often ourselves. We have 4 children and 5 grandchildren in the Colorado Springs area.

Theresa White purchased this house in 2006

Why Theresa White chose Colorado Springs

We love Colorado Springs. It is full of wonderful things to do. Our home sits at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain near Fort Carson. This part of town gets less snow and has very little congestion. It is close to the zoo, hiking, world class resorts and most of all, it is close to our grandchildren!

What makes this house unique

Our Colorado Springs home is very relaxing and a wonderful place to spend time with family. We have a lovely back yard with a swing set and a hammock strung between two huge shade trees. It is only a mile from the interstate which makes it feel close to everything. Evenings in the family room with a fire in the fireplace and a great movie with surround sound is often better than going out. The new double oven stove makes cooking for your family easy and convenient.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for a comfortable stay in your lovely home. Everything possibly needed was there, and we were well rested between our sight-seeing. Our little dog also had a great time exploring the yard and hearing a dog or dogs on the other side of the fence. We got some great photos in the hammock.

Thank you again for not only the pleasant stay in your home but also the pleasant conversations, communications and arrangements in making the plans. The experience was a delight from beginning to receipt of the refundable deposit. Best wishes to you both!

Nice neighborhood, clean, comfortable, and close to everything.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with our family of 5 and my mom and had plenty of room for everyone. The house was as described and as pictured. Everything was clean and well stocked. While in Colorado Springs we took in a Rockies game, visited Garden of the Gods and the Olympic Training Center, did some shopping in Manitou Springs, climbed the Manitou Incline, took the cog railroad to Pikes Peak, went white water rafting, and visited Royal Gorge and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The house was in a great location to take in all of these activities without excessive travel time. It's also super close to a grocery store and a ton of restaurants for the nights you don't feel like cooking. We truly enjoyed our time in Colorado and I'd love to visit again someday.

Awesome Family Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Theresa was easy to contact and quick to respond. The house was just as the listing described. I felt it was clean and well cared for. I appreciated the supply of 'left over' items that we were welcome to use (i.e. toiletries, spices, condiments, paperware, games, DVD's). There is easy access to stores and freeway. I'm glad I chose this home for a week long vacation and sightseeing in Colorado.

Customer service is lacking / could not get in the house at 3am

  • 2 of 5

Being a VRBO homeowner myself the past 6 years and having 30 reviews with a 5-star average, I understand the importance of a good review. However, I feel that it is also important to give an honest review. I can only state what happened. We had a four-hour flight into Denver then drove nearly an hour and a half to the house, arriving at 3AM. We were exhausted and could only think about sleep. We arrived at the house and the key to the front door did not work and we could not get in. (Plus there was no light to even see to put the key in; thankfully we had brought a small flashlight.) We had to go in search of a hotel in the middle of the night. When the homeowner got back to us the next day, it was like it was no big deal and she texted that they "sometimes have trouble with the key." Unacceptable customer service! They never came to fix the lock the entire week, so we had to go in and out of the garage, using their electric garage door opener, which then stopped working. It was very exasperating, to say the least. Once we arrived, too, there was a book left for us with a long list of to-do's if we wanted to get our deposit back, including stripping our beds, emptying out the garbages, etc....I mean, what did we pay a $180 housekeeping fee for? Afterwards, she said that her husband joked that they shouldn't rent to us again because of the key and garage door. It was very insulting. On the plus side, the house is in a nice area and a nice neighborhood, is conveniently located to shops, and has a nice, fenced backyard and swing set area in case you have children. The rooms are sizable and we found it particularly handy to have two "living rooms" in proximity to each other. After thinking it over, I would not stay again just because of the nonchalant attitude of the homeowner when we were majorly inconvenienced.

Owner's Response: I completely apologize for what seemed like a nonchalant attitude about the key. We had just had problems once with the key and thought it was a fluke. We refunded that night's stay to this guest. I did not realize that accessing the house through the garage was an imposition or we would have made other arrangements. We actually prefer to go in and out through the garage when we visit the house. The garage door opener stopped working the very last day. Both the opener and the entry lock were replaced right after this guest checked out. Our policy is not to go into the house when guests are present to repair things if at all possible. We want them to have an uninterrupted vacation if the issue can be taken care of through something like using an alternative entry. Again, I am sorry for what seemed like a nonchalant attitude. From other reviews and comments you can see we have a great relationship with our guests. I emailed back and forth with this guest talking about her new grandbaby, etc. I truly was joking when I told her what my husband said in jest. In that same conversation I told her we would welcome them back at any time. The quote from my husband was said completely in humor. I will certainly be more careful with my humor in the future. Regarding the check out list. Trash is to be taken to the outside can, beds stripped and towels placed in laundry room. Many vacation homes require these tasks. Our cleaning lady has 5 hours to completely turn the house over and those small tasks help her tremendously. Some guests even throw a load of laundry in to help her out. We always appreciate the guests that are so kind and thoughtful. We endeavor to have a great relationship with all of our guests and that is why so many visit more than once.

Perfect home for a family graduation gathering

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for USAFA graduation and it was perfect for us! It is a little further south but access to I25 is very convenient and it doesn't take long to get there. Easy access to local attractions for sightseeing when not busy with graduation events. Beautiful yard with play equipment for the children. For the adults there is a hammock to chill in during the day, and chairs and fire pit to relax around and visit after cooking out on the grill. The owner is wonderful to work with. Highly recommend!

Wonderfully close to everything and far enough away from the bustle.

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful experience. We had four adults and four children, and more than enough beds for everyone. The house was in a perfect location, close to grocery, gas, and destinations. We will be staying here again. I highly recommend this place for your stay in Colorado Springs.
