South Middle River House Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom - 1 Bathroom Home - Designed for Professional/Retired Couple(s)

Small House on a Large lot.

Comfortable two bedroom is currently configured as Queen Master and a Queen 2nd Bedroom.

The house is optimized for 4 persons.

Merida Mexico Artisan Furnishings are mixed with old and new - surrounded by rich hues- to create a quiet and comfortable living space.

DirecTV with DVR, Sound/DVD system and a large HD Television facilitate viewing from the couch and dining area.

A whole-home DSL internet network.

A fully stocked -modern kitchen opens onto the bar & dining area and living room - maximizing the contact between the cook/host and their friends.

French doors open onto the back patio from the dining area and the office for brilliant light and access to the back yard.

The spacious back yard features a specially designed geometric swimming/wading pool with submerged bench at chest height for relaxation and entertainment.

Stained concrete floors and stone tiles make the house clean and neat.

The full bath contains much storage

Full size stacked high efficiency washer/dryer inside the house.

Main bedroom has Queen Bed ample storage for folded and hanging clothes. It also has a Drectv in the room.

The manicure grounds are simple but very south florida.

There is seating in the front entry or even better - in the back next to the pool and bar-b-que grill.

The backyard is configured for 4 with an umbrella and several lounge chairs.

If you have kids, the large grassed backyard is perfect for a tent.

A large tree and an enclosed fence make the backyard private, comfortable and secure - even for a reasonably well behaved dog.

The home features thermostat controlled A/C and Heating with overhead fans in the dining room and bedrooms.

The home is protected by ADT security and has high grade locks as well as hurricane shutters which can be lowered for less light or heightened security.

The house was gutted and rebuilt in 2005 so much is in working order and it is well kept.

The neighborhood is diverse and low traffic despite proximity to main thoroughfares.

As is common in south florida, there are no sidewalks but the streets are fine for walking or riding conveyance of your choice.

Trash pick up is twice a week so there is limited accumulation of waste.

The kitchen is stocked with modern appliances and is designed with a classic work triangle with an over the sink counter/bar with overhead lights for entertaining.

The kitchen is well-lit and has under mount lighting for a more subdued illumination.

The dining area is prepared for 4 people but between the living room table, bar and dining area - the home can hose a reasonably size cafeteria style serving.

Thought my 2014 Halloween picture (huge event in nearby wilton manors) may seem out of character, I Am a Senior Scientist for a Multi National Chemical Company

I travel often and always look forward to being home in the warm and mellow life of south florida. I moved to Fort Lauderdale from San Francisco needing to be near water and an active community with services and sports without the 6 months of cold, grey and wet.

Being a former USMC Sgt, Conta Costa Sheriff Deputy and persistent athlete from birth, I grateful for all I have and to host my friends from abroad or home with extra care taken to accommodate retired professionals and newly wedded couples of any persuasion.

I am open minded and proud of my home and house. I coach and play adult softball and enjoy a steady work out regiment when home.

I am most proud of my work to bring the outside in and to open the heart of the home for all to enjoy. I put in both french doors to the back yard and removed some walls to make the large kitchen, dining and living area attractive, comfortable and adaptable for your vacation lifestyle. I have a cooks eye so the kitchen is above most in layout and equipment. Full size energy efficient washer/dryer help keep the cloth soft and dry and ready for nights out or comfortable evening in.

Nice Back Yard

A very comfy house with a carport, small pool, big back yard, and quiet diverse neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay, plenty of room, and our cocker enjoyed the backyard. David was immediately available on the couple of occasions we contacted him. Everything worked well, especially the nice sound system. Once we learned our way around we found the location to be convenient to restaurants and shopping. Highly recommended.

Everything we were looking for

We are a couple of retired snow birds who escaped the northern cold to spend three months in southern Florida. After a couple of days, we already felt at home in the house. Thanks to David, the owner, for the warm welcome and for always being available to satisfy our needs. The house is very well equipped and has all you need for your comfort: great appliances and electronics, fast internet, etc. We (and our small dog!!!) very much enjoyed relaxing in the large backyard and the quiet environment. We were able to use the pool starting mid-march as the water was too cold before then. The house is perfectly located only 3 miles from the beach which can be reached in 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The 1-95 is also close by, which is also very convenient when you want to visit Miami or you need to pick up visitors at the Fort Lauderdale airport. In summary, we were very satisfied and we would recommend this property with no hesitation.

PERFECT little House. Central to all things

We are locals who suffered a fire and are waiting to get back in and in mean time have been shuffling between rental homes all booked on HOME AWAY. All said this house was as comfortable as any and served to fill all our needs the best. Considering this is our 7th house in 3 mos. I would say that stands as a very high recommendation. The house is well looked after, accommodating and easy to adjust to in terms of alarms and electronics, laundry.. Etc. It has a huge backyard very conducive to bbq-ing and gathering around the pool for Lol sunbathing. Has lounges for lying in the sun and the yard is such that u have full access to sun all day. We have dogs and they loved the yard and neighborhood. Even the neighbors get high marks. I would highly recommend this little house. It was for us the most affordable to boot. This allowed for us to stay here the longest so I am confident I speak from a good position to advise. Make this your first consideration

This house is situated in a low-rise, diverse and mostly single-family residential neighborhood across the river from Wilton Manors. Just off of the main north/south artery - Andrews Avenue, it is quick and convenient to the popular, diverse and thriving Wilton Drive less than 1 mile away.

'The Drive'

This part of Wilton Manors plays host to a high density of alternative lifestyle Bars and Population. 'The Drive' hosts many fine dining establishments and Services to make your visit into town fun yet to allows you to return to the quiet and ease of being just outside the din of the Bar Scene. All around 'The Drive' are Essential Services such as spa, stylist, cleaners and shopping necessities that make any vacation or cruise stay a joy.

Wilton Manors has a dense population of Bars and Clubs for all types. Its open and accepting policy continues to attract new dining and relaxation options. Built around the centroid Alibi Complex and the Shoppes of Wilton Manors - just off the drive Gay is not just OK - its rejoiced. From the tasty brews of Java Boys to the country swing of Scandals and dark pulse of the Ramrod within one mile your crowd is sure to be found.

Necessities around the Island City:

Major supermarket chains such as (the closest) Publix, Whole Foods and Fresh Market are a convenient drive from 1st Ave. The chain Crown Liquors has late hours and is open Holidays while our local Wilton Liquors is very close and always full of great selections of beer, wine and spirits. Just over the bridge Atlantic Coast Kayak Company allows the adventurous a means to enjoy the the Island City from the lush setting of the meandering river.

Heading Downtown:

A simple drive down Andrews the other direction is Downtown Fort Lauderdale. Heading east from Andrews are the more elegant $ervices and upscale dining and shopping of Las Olas Boulevard. In season, there are often Art shows and/or Farmer's Markets down Las Olas Boulevard All the major Banks are the backdrop to charming shops and eateries. From the venerable 'Floridian'-offering heaping plates of Americana to the cutting edge Appetizers and Gorgeous plates at 'Johnny V's' - Las Olas offers a unique experience.

Straight Nightlife Scene:

From Andrews, if you had headed west at SW 2nd Street (turn before Las Olas) the street changes to the Straight 'Drive' Himmarshee Street. The always popular Coyote Ugly draws great crowds. There are numerous dining options for partygoers such as Himmarshee Grill - which can wet your appetite before heading to the late night scene at the Bars or at Revolution Live.

Performing Arts:

Just a few blocks past you will hit the Avenue of the Arts - NW 7th Avenue. While being a quick way back to the western boundary of Middle River (and the house) - is a dense cluster of performing arts, entertainment and discovery. The Borward Center for Performing Arts hosts the top rated show of Broadway fame ( Other attractions include the IMAX, and the Museum of Discovery and Science.

The Beach:

All within 5 miles, a drive down Sunrise Boulevard takes you past many conveniences: including, Holiday Park, the Library and the Galleria Mall. You also pass the Federal Highway Corridor (many more goods/services) just before the Inter-coastal and Atlantic Boulevard (1A). At Sunrise and 1A you are instantly in the middle of Fort Lauderdale Beach. Stretching as far as you can see North or South - the Beach also plays host to the Luxury Hotels and Specialty Guest houses that provide a more exotic visit. From the Alternative Beach (Sebastian) to the south to the Sand Dunes and Grasses adjacent to Birch State Part - 1A is a pleasure to all.

Jocks - Jocketts:

The Greater Miami - Fort Lauderdale Area also has its share who prefer to enjoy the active lifestyle to the bar scene. Fort Lauderdale is home to one of the countries largest and more vibrant Alternative lifestyle Softball, Tennis, Pool and Bowling tournaments and host organizations in the country. Be sure to grab a rag or look at Hot Spots Magazine online to follow the action. The house is very convenient to Mills Pond - the complex where every sunday most of the year, there are men and ladies playing ball. The most notable confluence of tournaments is typically Thanksgiving Weekend.

Cruises, Winter and White Party:

While all that above happening and available year around - you may wonder how it can get any more crazy. In fact, it does. Several times a year the city swells to bust just in time for auspicious occasions like RSVP or Atlantis Cruises. In addition, each March and November see Miami and Fort Lauderdale Swell as the White Party and Winter Party faithful flock to town from all over the world.

The home is filled with rare furniture and important mementos and art from my life in order to make it a home for the weary traveller. The floors are stained concrete (hard), there is a pool and many items broken cannot be replaced. I go through great care deliver the house in the most allergen free state as possible. There are only two carpets which can be removed as needed. The low step and concrete floor are wheelchair and pet friendly. The fence is adequate but is no match for a skillful escape artist dog. Cats are welcome but no cat box is standard and an extra deposit may be required if biting, digging or clawing are part of the pets nature. Loud and unruly dogs/kids will be grounds for contract termination (no refund) if authorities or neighbors are involved. Season is essentially November 1st until June 1st. Long term renters are welcome for off season. In season months are standard rentals - additional time may be negotiated individually.
