Madeline, Allen, and son, Daniel Hauptman (not pictured) own this villa. We chose to buy a place at Ocean Edge Resort, in Brewster, which is a town located on Cape Cod Bay, at the inner elbow of Cape Cod (the shape of Cape Cod's geography is an arm at a right angle). There are so many fun activities easily available. Brewster's scenic beauty is wonderfully interesting to see daily and our convenient, central location means that all the varied towns and beaches of Cape Cod, that you might also like to explore, are just a short drive away.
Madeline Hauptman purchased this villa in 2001
We vacationed on Cape Cod, in Brewster, at Ocean Edge Resort for many years. We always enjoyed the experience tremendously. The scenery is splendid and impressive as the lighting is forever changing during the day. Time seems to expand while you are there. Walking on the local Brewster Flats, which go on for miles, offer the calmest beaches one can encounter. The big sky is glorious and always interesting, and when the tide is out, it feels as if you can walk to Europe. The food is wonderful on Cape Cod, with delicious fresh produce, seafood, and fish. There is a grand feeling of Americana with the Cape Cod Baseball League and so many varied sports, that being there is a lot of fun for everyone. There is so much to do and see that this vacation experience could provide an enjoyable romantic getaway or a great week with the family. Everyone will want to return, year after year, as we did. We loved Brewster, on Cape Cod Bay, so much so that we decided to buy a place there.
Cape Cod provides a memorable vacation for couples or families. There are great restaurants, including the best lobster restaurants, ice cream and coffee shops, a traditional general store to visit daily, wonderful muffin and bakery shops, as well as health food stores, plus art galleries, antique shops, museums, nature trails, theatre, cabaret, in addition to cultural activities. There are many activities to enjoy: tennis, golf, biking, swimming in pools, the calm bay or wavy ocean, or walking for miles on the clean, sandy beaches as the sea laps on the shore. It is also fun to explore and take advantage of the many things to do right in the Brewster neighborhood that can be reached by foot, bike or car. The Brewster White Caps baseball team (part of the famous Cape Cod Baseball League, which has seen many future professional baseball players on their rosters), play on a school field one mile away, and the talented players are exciting to watch.
We vacationed here for one week, during each of the last two summers, and we
loved the experience. We enjoyed being here, and found the place to be really
comfortable with everything we needed right there. Its location is scenic, quiet
and peaceful, and we enjoyed all the activities available to us. We plan on
What an amazing vacation - the condo was pristine and the location was ideal. The entire experience was made much more enjoyable by the information and responsiveness of the owner, Madeline. It was like having the expertise of a concierge at an expensive hotel. There is so much to do in the area (activities, restaurants etc.), and with Madeline's recommendations, we were able to figure out everything we wanted to do with no hassle at all, and with no bad experiences.
The washer and dryer were a definite plus, among the many other amenities. The oil paintings around the condo (which I am pretty sure were done by the owner) were beautiful, and captured the scenery of the locale perfectly.
We will definitely be back again. Thank you for a great vacation!
My fiancee and I had a lovely stay at this Ocean Edge home. The location is fantastic for exploring the entire cape and and the owner went out of her way to ensure that our stay was relaxing and comfortable.
Regarding this home: the furniture is comfortable (slept very well!), the kitchen is in good condition and had all of the supplies that we needed, and the two bathrooms were recently renovated and were sparkling clean. The internet was speedy and worked well for researching local info, though the excellent and thoughtful guide book provided most everything that we needed. We particularly enjoyed waking up every morning and having coffee on the sunny back patio.
The Ocean Edge Resort is very well run and has excellent facilities. The tennis courts are in top shape.
The location is convenient to everything on the cape. We drove up to Provincetown one morning and had plenty of time to visit the Marconi station of the National Seashore in the afternoon, take a nap on the beach, and hike the cedar swamp trail. Access to the bike trail is super close to the resort. Lots of food options in the area as well.
This was our first trip to the Cape, and we had an excellent vacation at Ocean Edge. I cannot say enough about Madeline. She exceeded our expectations regarding her organization, prompt communication, attention to detail, and care of her condo. We found her binder with activity/restaurant recommendations to be very useful and so we didn't waste anytime trying to figure out the best places to eat. The Eaton village condo was spacious for our family of four and very quiet. The beaches were the highlight for us, warm water and no big waves to worry about. Our kids (6 & 8 yrs old) played for hours looking for hermit crabs and catching tiny fish. There were lots of kids of all ages to play with as well. Location is great--easy to drive to other towns on the Cape. Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed.
We have come here the past three summers and it keeps getting better. The owners have thought of everything including washer/dryer, AC, movies and board games. This year the bathroom was updated which is beautiful. We love Oceans Edge- pools, playground, bikes, etc. Also love Brewster and traveling around the Cape. Highly recommend this condo- owners are very nice and easy to deal with which is also a perk!
We have so thoroughly enjoyed this condo that we have stayed there twice. The charming unit has a new kitchen with every essential item, conducive to cooking at home when you are tired after a wonderful day of taking in the Cape's beaches and shops. The furniture and beds are comfy, the 2 updated bathrooms most attractive, a sweet patio is just beyond the sliding doors in the living room and guests are treated to water-themed oil paintings by the artist-owner, which embellish several walls. The grounds of the community are meticulous; it's a pleasure to return at day's end.
The Brewster location is perfect -- so centrally located that we can get most anywhere on the Cape within 25 minutes.
The owners are most responsive and provide numerous helpful suggestions regarding local restaurants and activities.
We went for three days, and loved every minute. Set in a picturesque resort, quiet, first floor condo is a great base for exploring mid-cape places. The owner was very responsive and offered great instructions. We especially liked their recommendations for local attractions: Hopkins House for best muffins we've had, Arnold's for lobster rolls, Cape league baseball right around the corner. We wouldn't have easily found these without the helpful hints in the Welcome binder. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Comfortable sleeping, and second bedroom was quiet for our baby to sleep while we watched a movie in the living room. Wish we could have stayed longer to use the pools, play some golf, and explore more!
Cape Cod Summer Baseball League team, called Brewster Whitecaps, comprised of excellent college players (many become professional baseball players), plays their home games on a field one mile away.
