I am an outdoor enthusiast that has been enjoying the Tahoe region since I was very little. While my family has a deep history here, I'm the first to take the step to own a slice of heaven. Born in California, raised in rural Montana, then worked and lived in Alaska for several years before returning to California where I have resided for the last 20 years.
Brett purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Brett chose Carnelian Bay
My father worked as a ranger at DL Bliss and Donner campgrounds right out of college. Even before that my grandfather would bring his family to Lake Tahoe to camp during the summer months. I've been told many great stories of my dad and his brothers hunting for amethyst on Mt. Tallac and catching trout in mountain streams in the 40's. My father and mother attended the winter Olympics at Squaw Valley and still recall the splendor of the competition. We have always been a family that appreciates simplicity, nature, and time together. This cabin brings all that together and I knew it was perfect the moment I stepped inside.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is located on a lot that runs all the way to the creek. While it's not exactly easy to get to the creek, hearing it running when sitting on the deck in the evening with a glass of wine is simply an amazing experience. A conservancy lot is next door which means it will never be developed, so this property is quiet and relaxing and peaceful. Access to many amazing trails await those who like to explore and adventure.

Ideal cabin in the North Shore of Lake Tahoe
We had a fantastic stay at Tahoe Solitude! Brett was super responsive whenever we had a question prior visiting Tahoe and we enjoyed staying at his cabin which was in impeccable conditions.
The floor plan is ideal (2bdr/2bath), the decor is cozy and you can't beat the location.
Thanks Brett for making our stay memorable!
We are so glad you had such a wonderful time! It is our pleasure to host guests like you and we look forward to having you back soon!
This cabin has it all - Cozy, peaceful, and conviently located.
The Tahoe Solitude cabin was exactly what we were looking for to accommodate an early holiday celebration with my Mom, my husband, and our two pups.
First off, Brett is excellent to work with - he's extremely responsive to any and all inquiries (from Netflix to snow plow questions!) and is just overall pleasant to chat with.
The cabin itself was the perfect setup for our needs. It provides enough privacy between the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms (and bathrooms) to feel like you have your own space, has a kitchen fully stocked with everything you might need if you want to spend the day cooking, is perfectly equipped for lounging around the fireplace reading or watching a movie, and has a great deck for morning bird watching/coffee drinking. The bear wires provide peace of mind and are very easy to manage. Even so, Brett provides very detailed instructions on how to remove/disarm them as to alleviate any anxiety about doing something wrong. We found the beds to be very comfortable and both bathrooms are very nice. The neighborhood where the cabin is situated is quiet, is great for dog walking, and is convenient to both grocery shopping (Safeway) and restaurants (like Gar Woods).
I highly recommend it - we would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Brett!
It was my pleasure to host your Tahoe Getaway! My family has been enjoying Tahoe for generations and I truly enjoy hosting guests to share the amazing place we love with others. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and welcome you back when your travel plans include Tahoe!
Our stay was comfortable and very pleasant. Nice, quiet neighborhood.
This cabin is located in a very nice area. We were able to access many different places. The cabin was comfortable and very clean,
Cute, Cozy, Clean
This was a quaint little cabin perfect for two couples and one dog. We were in town for a Spartan race and it provided a perfect place to unwind, cook meals, and refresh after a long, eventful day.
The cabin is extremely clean and very comfortable. Brett was super responsive from the time we requested to book the cabin and he was able to accommodate a late check-out request for us when we realized the day before that we'd have a hard time making it back from the race venue in time to really check out properly. (I should mention that not only is he responsive in general---he was responsive to our check out request while being on vacation himself).
I appreciated all of the bear wires/prevention tools (which were super easy to use because Brett provided super detailed and clear instructions). We had no issues. All directions to/from the cabin, regarding the cabin, and check-in/out instructions were clearly communicated.
The fireplace worked like a charm-- we really only needed to use it for a few minutes here and there to take the chill off and it worked quickly. We also appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was.
The beds were comfortable and the linens were nice and clean to the point where if they weren't new, they certainly felt and looked like they were.
We would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Thanks for a great cabin!
Great cabin! We enjoyed our stay very much!
Close enough to town and very peaceful.
The cabin was lovely, comfortable, well provisioned.
We found all the provisions to cook, the decor was cozy and comfortable (nicer than the photos) and we had the perfect stay. The bear wire turned out to be much easier than we feared. All the logistics worked fine, directions to the appliances were easy and Brett was incredibly quick to respond and was super helpful! Highly recommend this cabin.
