The Turtle Rock House is a three bedroom, two bath home located 12 miles Southeast of Georgetown on Little Exuma, and two miles from the quaint settlement of Williamstown. The house opens up to a 1300-square-foot oceanfront deck. Walk down steps to the fabulous white sand beach. The secluded one and a half mile long beach is great for walking, snorkeling, and swimming. Kayaks are available for exploring nearby islands.
Come sit on the deck, relax and enjoy the cool breeze and ocean view--safe, quiet environment off the beaten path.
The best location in Exuma on the wonderful white beach! We enjoyed our stay in that wonderful place! Most of the time we had the beach for ourselfs! The house is also very nice and confortable and you'll find all you need to have a winderful stay in paradise.
We stayed at the house the first week of January. It is a very nice house and great location right on the Tropic of Cancer beach. This beach is very pristine and private. Beautiful blue water. Our only issue was the washing machine and dryer are coin operated, which we were aware of prior to our arrival. However we learned after our arrival that both machines only accept US quarters and each machine requires 6 quarters per load. We had to go to 2 banks and 2 grocery stores in Georgetown and practically beg for US quarters. They got a little aggravated with us because they had to sort through their quarters to find US quarters. One bank would not even look. So if you go, take at least 5 rolls of US quarters to do your laundry. Also, the directions we were given to the house weren't the best way to go. The roads to the house after turning off the highway are in extremely poor condition (washed out and rutted). The easiest and best road to the house is turn left onto the Tropic of Cancer road (there is a big sign) and it will go straight into the driveway of the house. The directions we were given were more round about, worse roads and the sign for the road (Percy Road) was either torn or blown down. We had to go Santana's Bar and Grill in Williams Town to find out where Percy Road was located. The water pressure in the house is pretty low which makes it a little difficult to shower. I don't know if that's an area issue or particular to the house water system. Other than those issues we had a great time and highly recommend the house for you vacation. We thank the owners for allowing us to share their wonderful home.
This house, the beach = the BEST! We loved it. Tropic of Cancer is the best beach on the island, and this house is great. Just like in the pictures. I would definitely recommend, and even return. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.
Three couples absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turtle Rock House on Tropic of Cancer Beach on Little Exuma. If you're looking to get away from it all, this is the place for you. We either had this amazing beach all to ourselves or shared it with very few people. It is, indeed, a paradise. There was wonderful walking on the beach, kayaking to the Turtle and Alligator Rocks, and a little bit of snorkeling. But the sheer beauty of just being there is the best! The house is quite lovely, simply and tastefully decorated and is very functional. The drive back to Georgetown takes about 30 minutes for shopping, etc. We went to Tropic Breeze and Santanaas Grill in Williamstown for two excellent meals.
My wife and I have vacationed in Exuma for the past 6 years. The non-stop, three-and-a-half hour flight, from Toronto to Great Exuma is so convenient
This was the first year we rented a house on the beach and the first time we stayed for two weeks instead of one. When we were in Exuma the year before, we took some time to rent a car and visit a number of possible rentals on various beaches on Great and Little Exuma. Turtle Rock House reminded us of our cottage in Muskoka, being so close to the water, and with its large sun deck. There were no other rentals that we saw that were right on the beach like Turtle Rock House is. Unlike a number of the other rentals that are furnished more like city houses, Turtle Rock has a comfortable, welcoming, lived in cottage (beach-house) feel to it. The house is more than adequately appointed, and has a definite Bahamas character.
The owner and the property manager were very helpful. They responded quickly to all our inquiries and followed up to ensure our satisfaction, before and during our stay.
We would recommend renting a car. We did and enjoyed driving around the island, shopping for supplies in George Town, and eating at a number of restaurants. Santana’s, ten minutes away, is a must! The road from the Queen’s Hwy to Tropic of Cancer Beach and Turtle Rock House is similar to some of the cottage roads in Muskoka, more of a one-lane, weather-worn track than a road, but it seems to limit the number of tourists who make it to the beach, which is nice. The Tropic of Cancer Beach is absolutely amazing, beautiful, clean, and you mostly have it all to yourself. We walked its length on a number of occasions. Swimming or just wading into the ocean was wonderful with the amazingly crystal clear water and pristine, white sand on the bottom.
My wife and I are already talking about going back next year.
We spent 7 days at Turtle Rock House and it was everything we hoped for. The house is very spacious and clean as shown in the pictures. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked. The view is perfect. Nothing like waking up every morning and gazing past your toes at the clear blue ocean! Tropic of Cancer Beach is pristine and secluded. It is just minutes from Santannas Grill which is the BEST place to eat on the island.
It was very windy during our stay which seemed to mess with the satellite T.V. but with the view who needs T.V? The owners were wonderful to deal with.
Hope to return in the near future!
