My family (myself, my wife, and 2 year old) and a friend stayed here for 3 nights while visiting NYC. Affordable, close to shopping and groceries, very clean and well organized. Owner has detailed instructions about all amenities as well as great info about local things to do and see. Just like staying in a hotel but way more for your money. Having a parking spot was a bonus. We travelled into Manhattan every day from Journal Square which is only a 5-8 minute walk from the apartment. It only takes 15 minutes by train to get to Penn station, even less to Greenwich. The neighbourhood is a typical urban neighbourhood but we felt safe even with a toddler at night. People were very friendly and helpful when we needed directions. There is a big mall and big box stores all within 4 minutes driving range. The owner is very quick to respond to any needs you may have. The pictures don't do it justice, it is quite spacious. I have already recommended this place to a dozen people since being there. I wouldn't do NYC again without staying here. It really felt like we were staying at a home away from home. Thank you Adrienne!
Apartment was exactly same as described and owner was very helpful and responsive. Maps and other details regarding the places to visit were very helpful.
Will surely recommend friends to stay in the apartment.
Property was as described. An excellant value near Nyc., Tastefully decorated. Bed is comfortable, Just a few blocks from path station. Owner was most helpful with hints and tips.
Would stay here again
Was as advertised, clean, lots of space, parking off the street. Was a little worried about the area. However, no problems at all. Quiet working class neighborhood. Great place for family on a budget. Just jump on the PATH and you're in NYC. Would have paid 10 times as much to stay in Manhattan. Would stay here again. Great communication with the owner. I would recommend to a friend.
We drove to New Jersey and the duplex is very easy to find. The street felt safe and we never worried about the neighborhood or surrounding area. The downstairs is rented so you have to make your way upstairs, but everything is very conveniently labeled with instructions (keys, lights, etc.) and we had no problems at all with the stairs.
The unit has a nicely equipped kitchen, living area with fold out couch, and bedroom with a sitting area with a queen size bed and another fold out couch. The beds were very comfy and we all slept great (4 of us, two adults and 2 teens). There is a side room off the bedroom where you can store suitcases, clothes, etc. and a vanity you can use to get ready while others are in the bathroom.
The bathroom was great, and the best part about the unit was having a washer/dryer to finally wash some clothes! Adrienne even has laundry detergent and dryer sheets on hand for you. Such a luxury to not have to get out and immediately buy laundry soap!!
I will tell you the very best part about renting from Adrienne, especially if you are a first-time visitor to NYC. She helped me from the minute I made my reservation. She emailed me tips to save money, instructions for using the subway systems, countless tips that made our trip SO MUCH EASIER!!! Her instructions to sign up for Groupon coupons in the NYC area, for example, saved us about $500 in meals and excursions. We are so grateful for all of her wonderful help. She has an instruction book on the kitchen table so you can familiarize yourself with the PATH train (the house is literally 5 minutes from the NJ PATH station which takes you to Manhattan). She has menus, take out, delivery, information, bus tour info, it's like having all the great brochures from a hotel right in the kitchen. I will be eternally grateful to her for making our trip easier.
We also had a wonderful time exploring Jersey City and Hoboken. Just so much to do there is not enough time! Hoping to return around Christmas time.
I would recommend staying at this unit if you are traveling to the NY area, if you are a newbie like us, or have been to the city hundreds of times, you won't find a better place to stay!
This apartment was very clean and neat. Attention to details was evident and nothing was left undone. It felt like a B&B because of the hospitality that was shown in the binder that had a map of how to catch transportation into New York City, as well as the menus of restaurants that delivered. If we go to NYC again, we would definitely like to stay here.
It was the first time using homeaway, so I was a little nervous of what I was renting and how the experience might be. My trip was to go to the Puerto Rican Parade in NYC. My flight from PR was cancelled and finallly arrived at JFK nearly 24 hours after. It was almost midnight so my sister and brother(they live in NJ) got to the apartment first to wait for me . It was a relief for me that gave me security. When I saw the apartment was as expected from photos. To be honest I loved the apartment at the first moment ....it was so clean, more bigger than I thought. The dressing room was so big that my 5 luggages were easily storage .Iron and ironig board .Lots of information.Plenty of towels, linens, washer and dryer was a great added value. Rained 2 days (there are umbrellas ) and I was able to wash and dry our wet clothes and sweaters. Wi-fi worked great!! My kids watched tv (disney channels).
Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and I even made dinner for my sister and brother. There is a STOP AND SHOP supermarket near the house. The clerk kindly recommended i get the card for special price access.
My travel plans were to visit NYC daily.Bought the NYPASS to visit city attractions even thouh I did not had time to use it these days , gonna use it after fathers day when staying at my fathers place Its a great deal purchasing (nypass.com). Just used PATH TRAIN once. Real fast to NY. But paying for 4 of us was better to use the car I rented. even though had to pay $13 toll .My father lives in upper manhattan so I left car near DYCKMAN AND SHERMAN AVE. (less the 30 minutes from the house) and used the subway then.Sundays is easy to get free parking more close to Times square. Highly recommend to get metrocard if plannig to use everyday. I bought the 7 day umlimited for each one of us and really benefit from it.
For a six night stay visiting NYC made a diffrence in my budget. Had too many friends and family staying on PENNSILVANIA HOTEL. And the price they paid for a room versus the one I paid for an apartment with all the amenities was a HUGE one.Real happy for my choice.
definetely I am going to recommend the apartament to all my frineds and family. Love to be back. Thank you so much Addrienne for everything.
Visited Times Square, MSG,Chinatown had dinner in LITTLE ITALY, lovely area, The Bronx, upper and lower Manhattan, Central Park.
