If you want to live like a Parisian, and not like a tourist, rent this apartment! My wife and I lived in the apartment for the month of October and loved it. The apartment is located on a very pretty quiet street which is only a block long. The building is typical French, gorgeous, and looks exactly as shown in the photos. The apartment is well appointed, comfortable, and equipped with all you need in a home. Francoise, who owns the apartment lives in the building. When we arrived, she gave us a little tour of the neighborhood pointing out where things were located. There is a Carrefour supermarket, pharmacy, bank, restaurants, etc. all within a block of the apartment and specialty shops of all kinds within walking distance of the apartment. On Wednesday and Saturday there is a green market on the Autiel 2 blocks from the apartment. I shopped at the green market every Saturday just like a local.
And don't worry about traveling around the city because it's a snap. Paris is a relatively small city, we live in New York, and easy to access by public transit. The Mirabreu metro station is one block from the apartment as is the number 72 bus which stops directly across the street from the Louvre. The number 22 bus is also across the street from the apartment and stops at the Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower or you could walk. The RER train to Versailles is across the Pont Mirabreu a short 2 block walk from the apartment. We will be going back to Paris next year and plan to stay in the apartment.
This is the perfect apartment for a couple or even a family with a child. It's newly renovated, clean, quiet and very comfortable. The living area is a nice size the appliances (small stove, dishwasher, washing machine, etc.) work great (the dual washer/drier even dries well, which isn't common). The apartment is on the ground floor, but it faces a courtyard so it's extremely quiet at night, and also stays fairly cool. The bathroom has a walk in shower with a sunflower showerhead and abundant hot water (and excellent water pressure).
To top it all off, Francoise, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. She lives in the same building (in another apartment) and is both available whenever you might need her, but also very respectful of your privacy. She's extremely honest--I initially paid her slightly more than our agreed rate (I had a memory lapse about how much I had put down as a deposit) and she recognized it and gave me the difference. The 16th is a great neighborhood, too. Pretty and quiet, lots of nice shops, bakeries and restaurants. There are two excellent metro lines within a short walk. I'd highly recommend this property and would certainly stay there again.
i've stayed in this apartment last month with my wife and kid. it is the most amazing apartment i've ever rented in my trips. in every sense. francoise, the owner is adorable. i will definitely stay there again. it feels like home!
merci pour tout francoise!!
I really didn't want to write this review because I am afraid everyone will want to stay here, and it will be booked when we want to come back, but this was such a great experience that I had to write something. :) We stayed in this apartment for about 10 days. It was the best experience ever! The apartment is very very clean and new. The decorations are adorable. The beds are very comfortable, and the shower is like being in a spa. There was everything we needed to relax, and even make meals in the apartment if we wanted to. We were very comfortable, and felt very safe in this area. The neighbors were very nice, but we made sure to be quiet, and respectful. The courtyard is beautiful with plants, and it was nice to have the windows open. There is a good priced market, pharmacy, and many bakeries in walking distance. The metro and good restaurants are very close as well. It was amazing to walk a short distance to the bridge in the evening and see the Eiffel Tower all lit up. The apartment is in a good location if you want to enjoy local tourists things, but it also felt like we were away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist chaos. Francoise was a very amazing person to rent from. She is very honest, and was really nice to us, and made sure we understood how to work everything, where to go, and what to do. She wrote out how to take the metro to the major attractions, and was available if we had any questions. She met us with some nice treats, and made sure we had water and coke for refreshments when we arrived. We will definitely only rent from here when we come back to Paris in the future. Thank you Francoise for such a comfortable and nice apartment to stay in, and for all your help!
