Beautiful and peaceful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying at this cottage. The cottage was well stocked, comfortable and convenient to Olympic National Park. It was so serene to sit and watch the lake with our morning coffee and upon our return from the Park each day. I would highly recommend this cottage for a place to stay when visiting the Pacific Northwest.

The perfect retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Stunning location, with an amazing deck that looks out over the lake. The house was in excellent order and condition and everything looked/worked as advertised. (I would recommend the house for couples, or families with 1-2 kids, max age prob 12-14. The second bedroom is quite small with a bunk bed.) But it was big enough for our two year old, who also loved the big boxes of toys the hosts provide! We also used the canoe, paddles and jackets out on beautiful, calm Lake Sutherland. Internet is a little spotty, but that was just what we wanted! Overall an outstanding experience in a secluded, unique and beautiful property- thank you for hosting. We will be back!

Heaven by the lake

  • 5 of 5

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect. We were able to comfortably journey to Hurricane Ridge, Third beach at La Push and the Hoh rain forest. A ferry ride to Victoria was also easily managed from the home. It was especially nice to come back each evening and enjoy dinner on the lovely deck

The home was perfectly clean and well equipped. It made our inaugural visit to the Pacific Northwest an absolute delight. We hope to able to return again to the Pacific Northwest and the Lake Sutherland home.

Perfect family get-away

  • 5 of 5

The house and location were perfect for our family of 4 that came up from California for a week. The views of the lake each morning were very peaceful, and my son also enjoyed watching some Harry Potter movies on some days that we didn't go to Olympic forest to hike. Port Angeles is not that far, with grocery stores, so we could stock up when needed. We also enjoyed a visit to the Feiro Marine Life Center in town- aimed at younger kids with touch pools of sea creatures- we all liked looking in the pools and searching for hidden crabs and things. Nearby things we visited: Lake Crescent for tide pooling and Elhwa river for a steep hike, and one day we left the kids (supervised!) at the lake and took a day trip to the Hoh rain forest which allowed us a longer hike. It was really nice. One slight drawback is that, being summer and high vacation season, there were quite a number of neighbors that were having parties that went somewhat late into the night- complete with singing- but they wound down before midnight... We loved the trees surrounding the cabin, and one day even saw a bald eagle on a tree outside our door. All in all- if we lived closer (it took us 4 hours to drive from the Seattle airport)- we'd be here more frequently!
