Two walls of glass look out from the living room to lovely, private, tropical gardens and a partial ocean view. Wi-Fi is provided, and there are 2 wall air conditioners; one in living room near kitchen--the 2nd in the bedroom.
Enjoy dining at the corner of the west and north covered patios and watching green day geckos in the golden-fruited palms and plants very nearby. A little breeze keeps the 80 degree plus weather comfortable in the afternoons. Then take a dip down at the oceanside pool that perches on a lava point, or walk to the sea on the concrete path along the pool to watch the sunset over Kailua pier at the other side of the Bay.
This condo features tile entry, kitchen, and bathroom; private view of tropical gardens from bedroom; full kitchen; sofa and loveseat in living room; and air conditioning. Beach towels, mats, and ice chest are provided. Laundry facilities are very nearby. This is a Non-Smoking unit and Pets are NOT allowe
Our first visit to the Big Island was so enjoyable. Our favorite activities included the Waipi'o Valley and Snorkeling.
Your Condo was the perfect "home away from home" in Kona. We were so pleased. My parents have stayed for years at the Hale Kona Kai and were very impressed with #116. Their condo is a bit noisy.
We love the fact it was so private and quiet. Our favorite part was sleeping on the futon at night with nice Hawaiian breezes--we loved it that we could sleep outside. That was great. That's a wonderful asset of the condo.
I liked walking on the soft carpet with my bare-feet.
The kitchen was so pleasant to cook in. We loved eating on the porch (lanai) and watching the bird feeding frenzy.
We decided to stay at Kona Shores (#116) for our honeymoon and we are so glad that we did.
The place was just beautiful and so accommodating. Everything you could possibly need is in this condo, from kitchen items to extra bedding and even a nice TV and DVD player! We were able to save some money and enjoy breakfast there every morning, which was so nice. The condo is in walking distance to a lot and the first few days we were able to walk to shops and restaurants and get to see things that you do not see when having a vehicle.
The condo we stayed in was extra nice because it was at the far end by our parking spot so we didn't have a lot of traffic right outside our door and also the laundry room was right by our door, so that was nice! There is even a coffee place called "Green Flash Coffee" right next to Kona Shores and I thought that was pretty cool! I am a clean freak and I was very impressed with how clean everything was. Glen and Ginny were so helpful and very informative; they were always easy to get a hold of and very honest.
The pool was so quiet and never busy, usually it was just us there. We would go to the pool almost every day to swim in the morning and watch the breathtaking sunset at night. The other people staying there were very friendly and most of them go there every year. With being from Alaska, we aren't used to all the Hawaiian heat, but the air conditioner in the condo worked wonderfully and we were able to have a great sleep every night.
We walked (about 20 min) to go to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and their food was delicious! We were able to sit on the deck each time, overlooking the beautiful ocean and its waves. We also enjoyed Outback Steakhouse which isn't far from Bubba Gumps. Humpy's Big Island Restaurant was yummy too, and we were able to sit outside on the top deck in the evening and it was romantic.
I LOVE coffee, so we walked to Starbucks the days we didn't have a car, it was quite far for walking but worth it ;) driving, it only took about 8 minutes. So glad that we were able to rent a vehicle for half our stay and were able to drive and see the other side of the island and take a helicopter tour. That was exciting!
I love Kona and cannot wait to go back someday. We were very pleased with the whole stay and would do it all over again in heartbeat. My husband made my honeymoon dream come to life! Thank you Glen & Ginny
The condo is "first level" one bedroom condo. The condo is actually half a floor above the ground, with a huge private patio. The patio wraps around two sides of the condo, and has fantastic plants that give great privacy. Space inside the condo was huge, with clear evidence that owners take pride in their condo. Kitchen was very modern, and the bathroom was great. Close enough to downtown, that a healthy walk to lunch or dinner is feasible.
Kona Shores 116 was exactly as described - I was very happy with everything. Loved feeding the birds, and watching the gecko lick the orange. The unit was very quiet, stocked with every amenity we needed, and close to shops and restaurants. Thank you Glenn and Ginny for providing a delightful home away
from home, I will be back again .
My family really enjoyed this place and would recommend it all year round for anyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Kona Shores condo. The owner was extremely responsive, helpful and very professional. Everything was convenient, including the nearby parking spot, great beachfront pool and the easy proximity to Kona. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and preparing meals, and the view from the large lanai was impressive. We would definitely stay here again!
We have been coming here since 2005 and we always find Kona Shores is not just a place to stay but a place to live and enjoy island living. From your private garden lanai to the ocean front pool and natural charcoal BBQ area...you enjoy tropical breezes and the sounds of the local song birds. We have found this location to be an enjoyable oasis to relax...reflect...and reconnect.
