I just spent 5 days at Catherine's studio in the heart of les Batignolles. Everything went smoothly, with excellent communication with Catherine whenever I had questions, to the actual stay. The studio is more spacious than it looks in the photos. The sleeping area is separate from the main living area. The space has been updated with taste and convenience in mind. Fairly spacious, and functional bathroom and kitchen. I would recommend this studio for a couple, but the convertible couch in the main area (and the sliding door separating it from the "bedroom,") would also work for up to 4 people. The studio is tucked away from the street and located in a private (and secure) courtyard where the owner also lives. The studio has its own, private patio area with a small table and chairs. As soon as you step out in the street, you can't beat the charm and convenience of the Batignolles neighborhood where one can find many restaurants, cafés, and specialty shops within minutes. This is an authentic neighborhood, with few tourists. Three Metro stations are nearby and take you to popular areas in Paris in a heartbeat. I would definitely recommend this rental and will consider staying there again in the future. Merci Catherine, et bonne année ! -- Véronique (French Girl in Seattle :-))
This studio is larger and brighter than the photographs convey, with large windows, high ceilings and a skylight that add to the spacious feeling of the place. It was also extremely quiet when I was there (August 2016) and the patio and garden conveyed the impression of being far from the city streets, a wonderful place to have a meal or read or just sit quietly and smell the roses.
The apartment was very clean and well-stocked and all the equipment was in good order. The large bed was very comfortable, and there were plenty of bed linens and towels. Though she was away during the time of my visit, Mme Gonzenbach went out of her way to arrange the transfer of the keys and thoughtfully provided everything needed for a comfortable stay.
I would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in the charming and convenient neighborhood of Battignoles, There are two lovely and contrasting parks, plenty of cafes and shops, and a daily covered market as well as an outdoor market on the weekend. There are interesting walks to take in all directions, and the area is well served by buses, two lines of the metro, and Velib.
Merci, Mme Gonzenbach!
This is a lovely, private and safe place to stay. Catherine is a thoughtful host, who accommodated our arrival and departure times, and provided little extras to make our stay more comfortable. Batignolles is a wonderful neighbourhood, with cafes, shops & parks nearby, yet minutes from metro & buses to most parts of central Paris. The apartment is quiet and secure, and the outlook onto a courtyard was most appreciated for a morning coffee and relaxing at the end of a busy day. We enjoyed the nearby patisseries and the organic market on Saturday morning. I can certainly recommend this apartment for an authentic experience in Paris.
My spouse and I stayed at this lovely home in the heart of the Batignolles neighbourhood in Paris. We couldn't have asked for more, except to stay longer!
The studio is spacious, with everything you need to feel at home. Catherine is a gracious host, offering lots of helpful information to make our time in Paris memorable! Excellent wifi connection in a relaxing and bright space.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, with groceries mere steps away.
The bed was very comfortable, with lovely linens and a bathroom with a nice shower and plush towels. Considering it is in the city, it was very quiet and we appreciated how secure we felt.
We loved strolling the shops, cafes and markets situated all around us. When we ventured out to site see, the Metro stop was only a 10 min walk. We even hopped in a taxi home from some of the major sites, for a very reasonable fare.
There is a beautiful courtyard to enjoy coffee or meals, amongst lush vines and flowers.
We would definitely book again on our future trips to Paris!
Heartfelt thanks to Catherine and John for a wonderful visit summer 2015. Our family (2 adults and 2 kids, ages 7 and 9) had a fabulous stay in this beautifully renovated apartment. We especially loved the private garden/patio area- this is a really special thing to have in Paris where space (and privacy) is at a premium. We lived in Paris for several years and were in town to reacquaint the kids with the city and see old friends. I love that it is not right in the heart of a touristy area. It's a "real" neighborhood, and a charming one at that with ample cafes, shops and conveniences very nearby. Earlier in the trip we stayed in Monmartre (an area I love) in an apartment facing a street with many bars and cafes, meaning there was no silence until 2am. So having peace and quiet was hugely appreciated. Bonus points, we saw Lupita Nyongo and crew at a Vogue fashion shoot in the Saturday market the morning of our last day. True!!! Hugs to Catherine was so sweet to bring me milk for my coffee, and share her decaf Nesspresso pods. We look forward to staying here in the future!
This was our first encounter with Paris and we would like to thank Catherine and John who made it a pleasant one both for us adults and our daughter at 6 years. The apartment is located in a very nice area with many small shops and cafes and it is close to picturesque Mont Martre with its quaint restaurants . The apartment is well planned with its two rooms and well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. It is set back from the street onto a quiet and romantic backyard / garden where we had breakfast and time to ourselves after our daughter had fallen asleep . Perfect choice with young children .
