A spectacular place!

  • 5 of 5

L'Ecole des Filles is a lovely place in Barbentane, just south of Avignon. The accommodations are roomy, comfortable and very attractive. The kitchen is fully equipped and a delight to work in. The enclosed back yard is an oasis. We whole-heartedly recommend L'Ecole des Filles.

A tranquil oasis

  • 5 of 5

A group of us stayed at l'ecoles des filles for a week this summer; the house was perfect for the 6 of us (3 couples). it was so relaxing it we found it hard to leave the house at all.

The house is equipped with everything you could need to make your stay easy, and it's wonderfully located in a beautiful village with a handful of restaurants and shops.

A wonderful week in a beautiful location.

Exquisite home in Provence, perfect vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four adults and three young children rented this beautiful home in the charming village of Bartentane for a week in June. As beautiful as the puctures are, the property turned out to be even better in person. The home and garden were in pristine condition and obviously well-maintained. Juliette and her husband are gracious hosts and provided a tour of the property as well as information about the village, shopping and dining. I can not stress enough how much we loved staying here and how much we enjoyed the village. We especially enjoyed the local restaurant Le Romarin and the gracious couple who run it. Thank you so much, Juliette, for an exceptional stay in Provence. We are already recommending this property to our friends.

Gem in Provence

  • 5 of 5

Our 2 week stay here in July 2014 was the highlight of an 8 week European holiday.

L'Ecole des Filles is a luxurious property hidden in a central but quiet part of the beautiful, quaint medieval village of Barbentane,10 minutes drive from Avignon.

Two couples shared this extraordinary house which is beautifully decorated. The facilities including the pool and outdoor living areas are extremely comfortable and user friendly. The hosts are welcoming and helpful.

This is a perfect property to use as a base to explore this beautiful part of Provence. Own transport would be almost mandatory.

An excellent, well-appointed vacation villa

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was extraordinary. Our English-speaking hosts, Juliette and Ives, not only picked us up at the train station, but Ives kindly returned there to guide my husband to get our later arriving friends. Juliette gave us info on the house and areas to visit. The villa is beautifully decorated and well appointed. The pool and gardens are lovely too. High walls and locks on the gate and door made us feel safe. The town of Barbetine was charming with its restaurants and shops. We had an extraordinary time. Thanks again Juliette and Ives.

Wonderful base for Provence

  • 5 of 5

We rented L' Ecole les Filles for two weeks in August 2014 and shared with our adult children/spouses so there were 6 of us in total. The house and garden far exceeded our expectations and was the perfect base from which to explore Provence. The proximity to the Avignon TGV station is ideal and yet you are far from the congestion in Avignon. Also an added benefit is being at the top of The village in a quiet location within 5 minutes of the car park. And for the early risers there are a number of walking trails that criss-cross the ridge with spectacular views of the Rhone Valley. For the late risers a great boulangerie with chocolate croissants to get your day started with the right attitude. (And something to dream about when you get back to the States.) The house is tastefully done and the garden and pool so close to the house that it's perfect for al fresco dining. Five stars all around on our rating. One final note, if you have 3 couples, be aware that because of placement it is impractical to share the one upstairs toilet where 2 of the 3 bedrooms are located. The solution is for the person(s) in the loft bedroom to use the powder room on the main level and at the foot of the stairs. Be aware, but this aspect would not keep us from a repeat rental.
