By the day, gorgeous, sweeping views of the Honolulu skyline and beyond. By the night, it becomes a panoramic vista of the sparkling city lights. This is a beautiful, spacious and uniquely situated home, 7 minutes (literately) from the Waikiki beach with easy access to shopping and all the convenience while vacationing. It is idyllic setting with tropical gardens, privacy, quiet and very welcoming. The tropical tranquility allows you to relax, enjoy a glass of champagne on the lanai, or to read a book in the lush beauty of the garden. There is even a magnificent bamboo forest only minutes from this beautiful location for hiking and exploring. There is also a large gym with expansive views and lots of light, perfect for all of your exercise needs. This beautiful home works equally well as a romantic retreat setting or for family vacations.
I bought this property 13 years ago because of its unique location with sweeping views and easy and convenient access to the beach, shopping, hiking trails and privacy which is a rare combination in Hawaii.
Location, location, location...beautiful views and very comfortable...beyond that, the 100+ year old Chinese Banyan tree keeps this home cool throughout the year and provides a home within a home to many different birds and a soothing sound to waking up to every morning.
Jose was accommodating at first communication. Our family experienced a failed rental fraud situation on airbnb and Jose really helped us to feel comfortable booking his gorgeous place last minute. We had a large party from the mainland meeting up for vacation and extended family visits and every person in our party was thoroughly in awe and impressed with the gorgeous house, the beautiful views, and amazing breeze from the tradewinds.
The house itself was well-equipped with toiletries and towels. One of our party members took advantage of the full workout gym downstairs and our 10 year old son really enjoyed shooting pool with his dad. The house was spotless, kitchen well stocked with appliances, and a wonderful stereo system connected to each bedroom.
We were all sad to leave the house, but promise to be in touch if we ever need a place to stay again! We felt lucky to be staying in such a beautiful place.
Last, but not least, my seven year old daughter had left two of her stuffed animals, and Jose was so kind enough to look for them and leave them out for us! Lifesaver! =)
It was our first experience renting a home for a vacation. We had a small family reunion in Oahu and the home was perfect for all 12 of us (9 adults and 3 kids). We enjoy the entire space...plenty of room for all. The view of Honolulu and Diamond head was spectacular...day and night. I thought it was good location on the east-side, close (short drive) to Waikiki, Ala Moana, Pearl harbor, Freeways, etc. Great kitchen, patio and BBQ area. Good supplies of towels, laundry and kitchen items and more. Other relatives who visited and came for dinner loved the place also. Jose was away but Derrick filled in nicely. We were there for tropical storm Darby and we felt OK and safe.
Few minor things. There is no AC but the breeze and fans were good enough for me. There is another rental above the garage so you may need to share the driveway. Malfunction with the fire alarm late one night...no clue why. Minor...minor...minor. We still had a great time in the home.
We will remember this vacation and the house on Luna drive for a good long while. Hope to rent it again. Thanks Jose and Derrick
We were a large group of 12 (grandparents, parents, grandkids) and this home was perfect for us. The home was clean with large open spaces for everyone to hang out and lots of places to sit around and lounge. Kitchen had everything we needed to for our breakfast and dinner needs (coffee maker, coffee grinder, rice maker, toaster oven, 6-burner stove, large refrigerator, microwave, etc).
The large grassy backyard was perfect for the kids to play and explore. We spent a lot of time enjoying the amazing views of Diamond Head and Honolulu on the back lanai shaded by the gorgeous banyan tree. The glass doors between the dining room and back lanai slide out of the way creating an huge open space where you can enjoy the island breeze. We ended every day with drinks on the lanai taking in the view of the city lights.
The location was very convenient. It was only a 10-15 minute drive to the places we went (Waikiki, Ala Moana Mall, Pearl Harbor, Shimazu Store shave ice, Kahala, etc).
Our host, Jose, was awesome. He accommodated our travel schedule so that part of our group could arrive and get settled before the normal check-in time. He explained everything about the home (how to use lights and appliances), offered suggestions on places to eat, and was always available to make sure everything was well and that our group was enjoying themselves.
This was the first trip to Hawaii for half our group and Jose and his home really captured the Aloha spirit and made the trip memorable for everyone. We highly recommend this home and look forward to staying there again.
While my fiancé & I were looking for accommodations for Hawaii for our destination wedding, we knew we didn't want your ordinary and typical hotel but instead we wanted a beautiful place where a couple of our family members and we could stay and enjoy the view and ambience of the place. I also wanted a place that would be beautiful for "getting ready" photos for the wedding, which are pictures of the bride and groom getting ready for you who don't now what those are. I must say that we couldn't have picked a better place!
This is an absolutely breathtaking home. Let me tell you why. It's on a hilltop and overlooks the city so you have this amazing view from the kitchen and the living room. It took my breathe away every single moment I was there and especially in the morning and at night when you could see the city lights. My family absolutely loved staying there. The house also has this really green backyard (which also overlooks the city) that our wedding photographer, who so happened to be a friend of the owner of the house, told us that the house was so beautiful that she just wanted us to take our first look photos there. We completely recommend staying here.
Here are some more really important facts about the house:
1. Extremely clean
2. Nice and Roomy
3. Beautiful Kitchen
4. Has a gym room and a pool table
5. Has a propane grill
6. Great location (great neighborhood)
This stunning home far exceeded our expectations! We had a large group, (12 total), with plenty of room for all of us. The house was perfect for entertaining, with the dining room opening up to the patio area. We celebrated our daughter's graduation and could not have had a better location to do so!
Jose was a wonderful host, and we are very grateful to him for the opportunity to rent his home.
We highly recommend this property - it is a truly special place!

Very nice location, close to downtown/beach, yet far away from the noise!
Amazing view from the open deck, especially at tight.
Owner Jose was very helpful in every possible way! Would absolutely stay there again!!
