Stratton and Bromley Ski Areas Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 5 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Less than 5 miles to the Vermont Summer Festival and Horse Show! Surrounded by the Green Mountain National Forest.

30 minutes to Stratton/Bromley, less than an hour to Killington/Okemo!

Enjoy panoramic views of the Green Mountains, so close you can almost reach out and touch them. A beautiful moose mounted over the fireplace, and two beautiful black bear mounts on the walls.. all add to this gorgeous Vermont mountain retreat.

Meticulously maintained, spectacular Vermont mountain cabin for a single couple or two families to share. (3) bedrooms with master suite, loft and open living area, plus a separate living space downstairs with an additional (2) bedrooms, full bath and its own kitchen, living room, dining room and glass front woodstove. Main floor is handicapped accessible. Hi-speed fiber optic tv, phone and internet. 50' flat screen tv's on both levels of the house with complete surround sound system and a huge selection of dvd's. Quality bedding, furniture, rugs and appliances throughout- and a gorgeous bull moose mounted above the fireplace, harvested locally in 2006.

A spacious deck and plenty of large windows offer incredible up-close panoramic mountain views.

An abundance of wildlife.. we have viewed and/or photographed moose, black bear, deer, fox, bobcat, coyote and an incredible assortment of birds (including owls and turkeys) in our yard!

Ideally located 10 minutes from Manchester restaurants and shopping and 5 miles from the Vermont Horse Show and Summer Festival. Easy main road access and perfect cell phone reception. Property borders the Green Mtn Nat'l Forest with direct access to hiking and snowshoeing on the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail from your back door. Stratton and Bromley Mountain, 12 miles. Okemo and Killington, 25 miles. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing minutes away. Swimming, boating and fishing (and ice fishing!) at Emerald Lake State Park, less than 5 miles.

Property is meticulously maintained with plenty of flowering shrubs, fruit trees, a sprawling lawn and small mountain stream for cooling off or just sitting and reading a book. Very private, offering complete peace and tranquility.

Our property is not a ski party house, but a peaceful place to retreat and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you with the ones you love most. Perfect for every season.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Rob,

Your place was absolutely perfect. The girls absolutely loved it. Our usual routine is to go out for dinner on Saturday night after a day of shopping. Not this year. We just stayed put and enjoyed your place.

We would like to reserve it again for next year.

Also, I would like to see if you will allow me to reserve next Thanksgiving. I would love to bring my children and grandchildren to your beautiful place.

Girls Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our large group. plenty of room to be together, or spend time alone if that was what you wanted. Not even a traffic jam in the bathroom! Two kitchens made food prep/eating enjoyable. We enjoyed walking, hiking the trails, running, skiing, shopping, and visiting Hildene. We fit a lot of fun into a short time. This house was set up perfectly that I will look into renting it for my own family this summer.

Great Gals Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our gals group rented this house for the first time this past weekend and this house could not have been more accommodating from the size, location and of course house mascot, Monty the Moose which served as the backdrop for some fun photos. With a group of 12, the layout of the house was perfect and we had plenty of room to spread out or be together as we wanted. Also with a group this size, where interests are diversified as the individual ,there was plenty to do from skiing, hiking and of course shopping! It was nice to be in a quiet environment to relax, yet close to many activities and Manchester center when we wanted to be busy. We had a great field trip to Hildene, the Lincoln family home for a little history lesson and exploration complete with a lunch stop at the Equinox Hotel. Our home base provided the perfect launching pad for all these activities and provided a quite, cozy environment to visit with friends to make this the perfect getaway weekend destination.

Another Great Year!

  • 5 of 5

This was the third year my friends and I have rented this house--9 year tradition of coming to Vermont for a weekend skiing, shopping, hanging out, and sans kids. This year did not disappoint. The weekend started with skiing and snowboarding at Stratton which is only a 25 minute drive--they had great conditions despite being mostly man-made snow. The men in our group had a successful hike to Griffith Lake at the top of the mountain--they fell short last year so they were on a mission. The hiking trail is accessed right from the property. We squeezed in some shopping in Manchester Center--only 12 minutes away. We recommend checking out The Raven's Den--new restaurant in Manchester that had a great atmosphere and good drink selection. This has been a favorite house to rent over all these years. Everything you need is right there. The wood stove is great. Monty (the moose) holds watch over the great room and really gives the place that Vermont feel. We had snow for our third year in a row there which really topped off the weekend. Rob, the owner, is great to work with. Very responsive and accommodating. We keep saying we want to go back with the kids (plenty of room for several families). Maybe we will get around to it in 2016!

Owner's Response: Tracie- thanks for coming back to stay with us again. Was thrilled to hear that the guys were able to conquer the Lake trail. It's a beautiful hike any time of year with great views and water features, and definitely a good workout! Look forward to having you back soon!

Beautiful home and location

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I rented this cabin for the New Year. It is beautiful and comfortably accommodated 10 of us. There are beautiful hiking trails nearby and we were able to go sledding. I would definitely recommend this house as it is a great place to relax and get away but still a short drive from stores and restaurants.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Kathleen and Happy New Year! Glad everyone had a great. So much to see and do up there- especially in the winter- but just as fun to relax by the fire indoors.

A perfect home for friends and family

  • 5 of 5

We were lucky and were able to stay in this beautiful home last minute over the Valentines/Presidents day weekend. The house is well cared for, clean and inviting. The views of the mountains from anywhere in this house are incredible. It easily fit our large family. To our surprise there is a whole other level below the main living that could have easily and with extra room accommodated another family. I like that the bathroom on the main floor is handicap accessible.

Our kids loved this house and didn't want to leave. It was perfect and the owner is great. Rob was so helpful in recommending restaurants and shops. He let us use their sleds and our kids just couldn't get enough playing in the snow there. He made sure the house light was on and a fire was going when we arrived! It really is a well laid out home. We made great family memories here and we look forward to coming back, you won't be disappointed. Everything the other reviewers said I agree with wholeheartedly!

Great Place For A Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

My husband and a group of friend had the pleasure of renting this home for a second time this year. We have been coming to Vermont as group for the last 8 years and this house has been a perfect fit for our group. There is plenty of space for everyone yet the home still feels cozy and comfortable. The fireplace is such a nice amenity, especially with the snow and very cold temperatures we experienced while there. Our entire group had a chance to enjoy the hiking trails that you can access right from the back yard. The location is ideal. Half our group skied/snowboarded at Stratton one day (half hour away) and we enjoyed a great dinner at Mulligan's in Manchester Center (10 minutes away). We didn't do any shopping this year but the shops in Mancheser are very accessible. The owner is very resposive and always got right back to me to answer questions which made planning the trip that much easier. We had another great year in Vermont and look forward to coming back.
