You can have it all. Coral reef, sunsets, white sand, placid aqua waters, lapping waves, fresh water pool, are all right there for your enjoyment and just a couple of steps off the deck. Delight in the golden sunsets, turquoise waters and lavender skies while lounging in air conditioned comfort. Bayside Hideaway is located ocean front at the quieter eastern edge of West Bay Beach which was voted by National Geographic as one of the worlds most beautiful. Coral Reef is just a short swim from shore. There are PADI dive operators, restaurants, shops and a deli all within an easy walk along this gorgeous stretch of white sand beach. Gumbolimbo Park is also a short walk away.
This is a home away from home setting by waters edge with a fresh water pool, split air conditioning units with remote controls in each room. Master suite has a king bed and second bedroom has a full size bed and bunk beds. The building has a quiet, automatic switched backup generator. Beach towels and ample linens are provided.

First visited West Bay Beach in 2001; bought there in 2002; moved there in 2003; loved living there for 6 years. Our son came back to the US and we moved back to be near him.
Linda Kay purchased this villa in 2004
It is in a very private location yet it is within a well lighted, quick and easy walk to amenity ~ no hills or bridges to cross to get to restaurants and shops. The property is well built and spacious.
Secluded beach with no public access; people who do not get around so well can enjoy this property with family; the kitchen is very spacious; and it is a small development with a quiet generator.
It is on what almost seems like a private beach and has a great view of the water and is clean, shady, comfortable and a short walk to resorts, restaurants and access to activities without the hassle of being on a crowded beach or a large resort.
The condo is one of six (?) units but we never heard our neighbors. It is next to Gumbalimba Park (a nature preserve) and separated from West Bay by the laid back Las Rocas dive resort. The grass in the water right in front of the condo does not invite swimming but there's a "hole" in front of Los Rocas a few feet away and plenty more beach and swimming at West Bay. You can also take advantage of the large pools at the nearby resorts by simply buying a drink or a meal there.
The unit we rented (3b) might not be considered luxurious by American standards, but it was very comfortable and had everything we needed (small pool, kitchen utensils, washer/dryer, TV with Satellite, towels, etc.) and covered parking.
We have been to Roatan countless times and have stayed in high-end resorts but we highly recommend this condo to anyone who prefers the beach at a good price and without the crowd.
Steps off the beaten path - amazing oasis with every comfort. You can't swim at this beach though - the sea grass is way too thick. It would be okay for little ones who are playing at the water's edge. And there is great swimming 5 minute walk west on the beach. I wouldn't trade the location. Be prepared for the smelly tap water - must be a bad well. All in all, in spite of the most rain I've ever seen in my life, we had a really lovely vacation and would return to this spot.
Being our first trip to Roatan and wanting a quiet place to relax we couldn't have asked for a better place. Bayside is just off West Bay Beach with it's own little private beach all to yourself. On an average day we might of seen maybe 10-15 people but just a 5 minute walk past Los Rocas and you were in the heart of West Bay were all the restaurants bars and nightlife are. The food was amazing and extremely affordable. We especially enjoyed Beacher's, The Vintage Pearl and the Restaurant at Infinty Bay (amazing sushi). Definitely take a water taxi to West End and Explore the shops and Restaurants there as well.
The condo itself has everything you need. The staff was extremely helpful in getting us settled in and Jensen our driver was excellent. He waited while we grocery shopped for some of the basics and answered all the questions we had on our drive from the airport.
We took on snorkel trip with Capt. Ray ( you can usually find him in front of Foster's on West Bay Beach). He took us out all day snorkeling with a stop at Pigeon Cay for a Steak and Lobster dinner cooked right on the beach.
All in all an amazing trip and wonderful location and condo. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from it all yet have all the tourist attractions just minutes away. Can't wait to go back next time.
If you are looking for North American luxury with room service and the works, you'll have to go elsewhere and spend three times as much. If you want to sleep right in the middle of the dance floor with DJ throbbing, head to Infinity Bay. However, if you want peace and quiet, unfettered views of the blue green sea from your private patio and your private beach, these villas will be home.
The condo is separated from West Bay proper by the rocking outcrop of Las Rocas dive resort. It has its own a stretch of private beach, with the reef a few hundred yards offshore providing decent snorkeling and calm waters. There's a bit more eel grass here than in the heavily trafficked West Bay, but the solitude was well worth it. Being apart from West Bay was a blessing. Just a few minutes walking brought us right to the action, but we could easily escape the parties and throngs of holiday revelers.
The unit we rented (Bayview 3b) was not super luxurious, but was perfectly comfortable and well appointed. We never once turned on the satellite TV, but it was an option. The kitchen had literally everything one might need (bakeware, fry pans, pots, blender, to-go mugs, coffee maker, lots of filtered potable water, etc). We self-catered nearly every meal, though many restaurants sit within easy walking distance.
Our unit was on the ground floor with 3 steps going down to the beach. We spent nearly all of our waking hours either in the sand and sea, or on the porch. The porch is semi-gated, has a handful of lounge chairs, along with a large glass table and 6 chairs for the table. The porch was very well shaded in the afternoons, and midday, when sun was strong, we simply moved the lounge chairs under the trees (just in front of the condo, in the sand) to get shade.
We highly recommend this condo to any and all travelers. It seemed especially nice for families (we brought our a 9-month old baby and his 75 year old grandma).
You can't beat the location of this condo to West Bay Beach and if it wasn't for this, we would have been very disappointed in our stay. You can walk to everything in West Bay but without having to be in the middle of all the resort and cruise ship crowds. We had issues with hot water and water pressure for the first couple of days so showering was a pretty miserable experience. This issue did get resolved and was handled professionally by John and Kevin. The pool had a 4-6 inch brown dirt/scum border going around entire pool at the water level. We inquired about the ability to snorkel from the condo when booking and was told you could. The beach area is full of turtle grass at the sands edge but more importantly, there is a boat channel with heavy boat traffic that separate you from the turtle grass and the reef. First day we tried to get out and all the boat taxi operators were yelling at us to say it was a boat channel and that snorkeling was not allowed. Tried another day but must be a very strong swimmer to swim past boat channel when you have a clear moment and then you have a fair distance to go to get to the reef. I would say this is not a snorkel area with beach entry. The master bathroom had a tub which was very rusted out so appeared to be dirty. I know that everything rusts out in salt air but things could be done to fix it. We asked in advance about the wifi situation and was told it wasn't onsite but could be purchased from neighboring Las Rocas resort and worked fine. The purchased wifi did not work inside the condo and was very marginal when outside holding the device up and into the direction of the resort. Only reliable when sitting on the deck of the resort property. Not sure why wifi is not available in the unit as one of the units in the complex had it. The gas grill was functioning but pretty weathered so lighting it was difficult and not all burners worked. The living room a/c unit was having a hard time by mid week of our stay so room was getting a musty smell as it was blowing warmish air. Had to turn it off and open up all the windows to get rid of odor each day. Overall, it appears that the units are getting older and are need of some repairs/maintenance to bring them up to speed for rental purposes. It was frustrating to spend the first 4 days of our vacation dealing with issues in the condo instead of enjoying our time on the island.
My husband and I went to Roatan with our daughter(23) and a friend for one week. We loved staying at Bayside Hideaway and would go back in a second. The "private" beach was lovely. It was easy to rent kayaks from Las Rocas next door. The snorkeling was good and even better just walking 10 mins down the beach. We commented all the time how lucky we were to get the best place around(we had never been to Roatan before). We will go back and would recommend to anyone. Absolutely the best location of any place around. We liked being 5 minutes(walking) away from the busier west bay beach but close enough to take advantage of all the restaurants and grocery and beautiful beach with snorkeling and paddle boarding.
Several scuba dive operators are a short walk away. Snorkeling is a short swim from the shore directly in front of the villa. There are several zip lines near by, one of which is just a short walk down the beach. It is a quick and easy walk down the beach to restaurants, shops and entertainment. Whale sharks visit in the spring. There is a golf course on the island ~ it is about an hours drive away.
