My family has thoroughly enjoyed 2 vacations at this lovely well kept house down a long lane, on a quiet pond perfect for swimming and kayaking. The private lakefront has a nice grassy area to sit in the sun or for kids to play. The living room and deck areas are beautiful and spacious and embrace the peaceful view of the pond. Fun art, great book and game selection, comfortable bedrooms, and well appointed kitchen. We had morning coffee on the long front deck facing the pond, ate most of our meals outside, and sometimes found it hard to take outings involving leaving the property! Side yard is good for croquet, Ballston Beach (stunning!) is a bike ride away, and downtown Wellfleet is 5 minutes from the house. The owners were very friendly and helpful, responsive to any questions. I would most highly recommend this property to friends and family. We intend to return again next summer!
Our party of four had a wonderful time at this lovely, spacious home, which has an incredibly large deck overlooking the Great Pond. We enjoyed grilling our dinners and swimming daily in the clear water, steps away from the house. The interior is spotless and comfortable, with a spare aesthetic, and a lovely garden. The kitchen is especially well-equipped. The owners, Cory and Daryl, were very nice and on-hand by phone to answer questions--they brought us extra floating rafts right away when we asked. I would definitely recommend this home for a restful stay in Truro. Great for kids too--has a ping pong table!
We had a wonderful time. Its a lovely house in a beautiful spot. The owners were helpful and responsive without being intrusive. We really loved it here and hope to return.
Our family was very pleased after selecting this home for our yearly Cape Cod vacation. We like to check out different places each year, but this is one that may turn into a regular rental. The location is convenient to access beaches and restaurants scattered along the end of the Cape. And the properties location right on the Pond was perfect for the days we didn't want to go anywhere and just relax. House was clean and well cared for. We would recommend this rental to anyone.
Just returned from a blissful week-long stay at this house -- pondfront paradise indeed! From the moment our family of four pulled off the main road and onto the cute little dirt road that ambles along the pond towards the house, we were smitten. The location is perfect: crystal-clear pond waters (which our 6-year-old twins loved splashing around in, even in mid-May!), very very private (less than a handful of other homes on the pond, all barely even visible from the house). It's also a short drive to tons of stunning oceanside beaches and calm, tidepool-filled bayside beaches alike in both Wellfleet and Truro, and very convenient to the shops and restaurants of charming Wellfleet center. Mostly what we loved though was how the house takes brilliant advantage of its perch: we'd wake up, peek out our bedroom window to see the woods on one side and water at the other edge, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the gorgeous giant dining table with expansive water views, head out for the day, then return to hang out on the awesome wraparound deck (well-equipped with lounge chairs galore), where we'd gaze out at the water some more, often with a set of the binoculars and one of the bird guides so helpfully included in the house's offerings (saw hawks, osprey, kingfishers, cardinals and more!)
One thing we were pleasantly surprised by was what a mid-century gem the house itself is, with funky vintage furnishings, art and dishware mingling easily and beautifully with modern touches, all put together in a way that's cool and sophisticated without being overly precious (this meant my kids felt as comfortable using the space as we grown-ups did -- of course, it helped that there was so much land outside for them to run around in when they needed to burn off energy!) Beds were comfy, bathrooms sparkling-clean, and the open, well-appointed kitchen was a joy to cook in (important, as we love food!) The layout also accommodated our party comfortably when our friends (another family with young children) joined us midway through our stay. Meanwhile the owners, Cape locals, are easygoing and very friendly, and gave us great beach tips. All in all, we could not have asked for a more idyllic spot to call home during our week on the Cape; we would happily return here again and again!
This past summer my family and I had the chance to stay at this lovely home. It is private, peaceful and very clean. The lay out of the house worked well for us so that we had places to gather and enough room to spread out. ( important with 2 teenagers!) Having a great deck to enjoy the outdoors on and having the pond at our feet was such a HUGE HIT! The upstairs bathroom is completely new and feels very clean. The kitchen is open, airy and well stocked.
Dealing with the owners was easy and they answered all the questions that we had. I would highly recommend this property as a place to enjoy all the natural beauty that the Cape offers.
Property is just a couple of minutes to Wellfleet. In Wellfleet there are numerous excellent restaurants, top galleries, shops, historical sites, pier, marina, theaters (movie and live). Truro also has restaurants, pier, marina, shops. Provincetown (at the end of the cape) has many restaurants, galleries, shops, historical, pier, marina. All three towns are located within the Cape Cod National Seashore (this property is surrounded by seashore property). The beaches are outstanding, lots of hiking trails, bicycling.
